The next day, Tobias looked at the woman sleeping soundly next to him. He planted a kiss on her forehead. His voice was deep and hoarse when he spoke. "I'm off to work, babe."

Lucy responded with a hum. She rolled over to the side and slipped under the blanket to continue sleeping. Tobias saw it and smiled lovingly.

Lucy was the one who'd aroused him last night. In the end, however, she'd cried and asked him to stop. They'd gone at it the whole night. She must've been so tired that she didn't want to wake up.

So, Tobias tiptoed out of the room. He relayed an order to the maid before he left. "If Lucy doesn't wake up in the morning, prepare some breakfast and take it to her. Then, stay there until she eats it."

"Understood, Mr. Ripley."

Then, Tobias went to his office for work. He started a video conference.

"We have secured sufficient funding for the land development downtown, Mr. Ripley. The construction has commenced as well. We are moving onto the next round of funding."
