(Alexander’s POV)

The soft hum of the medical equipment and the rhythmic sound of her breathing were my only company. My hand clasped hers tightly, silently begging for her to wake up.

The silence of the room was shattered by the sound of the door swinging open. I turned sharply, my protective instincts on high alert, but I froze when I saw… Kael standing there.

Before I could say a word, Kael strode forward and engulfed me in a tight embrace. Tears fell from Kael’s eyes as he held me.

“I thought you weren’t coming back anytime soon” I managed to say, my voice cracking with a mix of surprise and emotion.

Kael pulled back slightly, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

Alex, seated beside me, listened intently as I explained the connection I had uncovered about Rain.“Rain’s... a fae?” Alex repeated, his eyebrows shooting up in shock. I nodded, my voice steady despite my nerves.“Ezra hinted at it, and it clicked. I remembered how Rain always seemed to have this... ethereal quality about her.
