Chapter 29: Stubborn Wolves

"You can see now, so why do you still carry that walking stick with you?". I heard this and clenched my fist.

"It seems Alpha has forgotten this jade is not only a walking stick but also a weapon, how can I throw something so useful away?". I said and lowered my head not wanting to see his face. How could he ask something like that? This is the only gift I have received from him, how could I possibly throw it away... How annoying!

He didn't say a word again so I kept quiet and enjoyed the silence.

"Dinner is ready". Mom yelled from the kitchen and I stood up to help her set the table.

"Mushroom brunch, Mac n cheese, and your favorite lamb meatballs with roasted carrots dig in". She said excitedly and sat down.

I looked at the filled-up table and lowered my head, I just couldn't help but think, 'What if I didn't regain my sight? Will I be able to sit here and have dinner with them? Would he even spare me a glance?'. My head throbbed at this question.
