CHAPTER FOUR

last update Last Updated: 2020-05-23 04:59:53

The following morning I woke up at four, it was my first day of training with Alpha Jamie and dare I say; I was excited. After a quick shower I threw on a pair of yoga pants and a wife beater from a pile of clothes that Alpha Jamie organised for me.

The moment I entered the kitchen I was greeted by three women who were talking animatedly while preparing breakfast, I was shocked at first since it was so early but I quickly brushed it off remembering how early I used to wake up in my old pack to make breakfast for everyone. This pack was far bigger than my old one, but since there were three of them, things seemed to flow well. I learnt from Jake that the Blue Moon Pack had 439 members- including me- it was the largest pack and the third strongest pack in the world.

My old pack had only 149 members.

After having pancakes, which the ladies insisted they prepare for me, I made my way outside to the backyard where my training would take place. Since it is a Saturday, the pack is free from training and I will be the only one training according to Alpha Jamie.

Outside Alpha Jamie, Jacob and Dristan were setting up the training mats. I looked questioningly at Dristan and Jacob, I hadn’t expected them to be here, Alpha Jamie quickly informed me that he filled them in on what he found out and they insisted on helping with my training.

Dristan began by showing me different warm up techniques; they were easy and pretty relaxing. After warm ups I ran in the forest with Jacob, still in human form; they explained that the key to having a strong wolf is having a stronger human form.

We took short breaks in between but only ended our training at 1pm. My body was drenched in sweat and my muscles were stiff, but I still felt great, my first day of training was an ultimate success which motivated me to keep going further.

I took a much needed shower before going in search of the guys, I didn't really know anyone else and I desperately needed to go shopping for new clothes. I walked through the pack house until I came to the gaming room; it seems as if all the teenagers of the pack were in here. I stepped inside and was immediately bombarded by introductions and people tugging me to join them in their own little groups, the attention was flattering, but overbearing.

“STOP!” I could hear the authority that seeped into my voice, immediately everyone went quiet and bowed their heads in respect, I instantly felt bad.

“I'm sorry, please look up, I just got overwhelmed by everyone speaking at the same time. I would really like to be friends with everyone and spend time with you all, but for now I have something that I have to do. I was looking for Jacob and Dristan, they promised to take me shopping today.” I ranted not giving them time to ask the questions that were burning in their eyes.

At the mention of shopping a few of the girl's eyes widened and bubbled with excitement, “You want to go shopping? We'll take you!” they suggested happily and I saw it as a great opportunity to get to know them.

We ended up taking four cars since everyone wanted to tag along, guys included. No one asked about my outburst earlier and I was thankful for it, I think they sensed that I didn't want to explain.

I was in the car with Lexi who has blonde hair and blue eyes, she's a timid girl with a shy smile, but is very beautiful, her mate Joey who strangely enough is the exact opposite of her, his hair is chocolate brown and he has black eyes-something I have never seen before- while his personality is outgoing and friendly.

My ending up in this car has to do with the twins who were seated on either side of me, Connor and Bradley. The two were identical apart from the fact that Connor had his dad's Ash Blond hair; Brad had his mom's Dark brown hair as they explained. They seemed to be the pranksters of the group which was entertaining.

We reached the mall within thirty minutes; the drive was spent with everyone asking me questions about why and how I ended up joining the pack. I thought about not answering their questions at first but I hated the idea of my entire life being based on a lie, I wanted to be able to trust my new pack and have them trust me and hiding my past from them was a horrible start.

The guys were fuming when I told them about some of the things my old pack did and insisted that they would get revenge, but I didn’t want that, I just wanted to move on and be happy again.

It warmed my heart that they wanted to protect me despite not knowing me; it reminded me of the days before everything changed. I sighed, not wanting to remember the good times I had in my old pack, because they were always followed with hurt.

The guys and girls separated when we got inside, but not before the guys gave us strict instructions to call them if anything went wrong. The girls mostly rolled their eyes at the guys behaviour, I found it adorable how concerned they were for our safety.

We browsed through Forever 21 picking items for ourselves and each other while they all told me a little about their lives.

Amanda is 17, she has natural Platinum blonde hair and enticing grey eyes, her personality is far from what you would expect though; she is bubbly, loud and straight forward. At first she comes off as rude, but I could tell that she meant well.

Charlie is the sweetheart of the group, she is the youngest at just 15, but she acts far older. Her chestnut hair reached her mid back while her golden eyes were framed with a pair of dark rimmed glasses. She looked like the cliché version of a nerd; surprisingly she was actually a fashion guru.

Peyton is the fiery redhead, green eyed girl that no one wants to mess with, she is passionate and protective of everyone she cares about, despite being petite. The girls say that she is the walking proof that dynamite comes in small packages.

Jolene; the mother figure. Turns out she is actually Joey’s older sister; one year his senior at 18 years old. She is kind, easy going and extremely easy to talk too. She looks a lot like Joey in fact; they share the same unique black eyes, chocolate brown hair and tall physique, it’s almost scary.

Taylor… The girl whom I learnt was Lexi's sister is a complete contradiction to her sister. Taylor is flirtatious and reckless and her overly flattering dressing is enough for her to pick up guys and have girls hate her. At first I didn’t take much of a liking to her, she reminded me a little of Amy Farris until Lexi explained that she only became this way when she lost her mate in a battle against rogues two days after they mated. Only then did I understand that it was her way of dealing with her loss and my heart hurt for her.

Each and every one of these people were kind hearted and loving, it was clear that they were brought up in a pack with love and morals.

Sitting around a long table that we pushed together in the food court, I couldn’t help but wonder if my old pack did things like this; would I have been a part of it if things happened differently?

I didn't have answers to most of my questions, but it didn't help for me to speculate, so instead I chose to let go of the hurt and move forward with these wonderful people who I could see becoming good friends.

Every nerve ending in my body was on fire as I stared into the cobalt blue eyes of my captor. Why couldn’t you be so sweet when I got out of labour?” Yasmin slapped Oliver on the chest and her daughter giggled.“Oh Yas, don’t give him such a hard time, Devin has had more than enough practice over the last few months.” I laughed as I shuffled up into a sitting position.“Damn right. The young man was quiet for a while before he spoke again, “I- Uh…” His confusion made me giggle. “Benjamin, calm down and tell me what’s going on? I understand that it’s something that you have little to no control over, but we need to find a permanent solution for this, before anyone else gets hurt.” I explained gravely.“I understand, that’s why I think it’s best if I leave the pack.” Taylor gasped and sprang onto her feet in shock.“You can’t do that!” She cried, tears already gathering in her eyes. “Taylor, calm down and let’s talk about this.” I reasoned and t
