Alicia's POV.
My hand shook uncontrollably, and I found myself blinking repeatedly, struggling to believe what I was seeing. The picture on my phone felt like a cruel joke, but the pain was all too real. I was lost in the agony of the photo when the door to the room suddenly swung open, and Andrew walked in. A heavy ache settled in my heart, and a storm of emotions brewed on my face. Without a word, I marched up to him, my steps fueled by a mix of anger and hurt. “Why is another woman touching you, Andrew? Are you really cheating on me now?” I demanded, my voice thick with bitterness. I fought to keep my tears at bay, but the pain was almost too much to bear. I tried my best to let myself not be upset by his cold attitude but I never expected his betrayal in our marriage. The betrayal is so much more painful than his previous actions in the past years. He had never held me with such tenderness or looked at me with the affection I had always yearned for. Yet, here he was, entangled with someone else, being intimate with a stranger that he had never offered me. “What’s the meaning of this?” Andrew’s voice was deep and cutting, filling the room with an icy edge. His tone dripped with indifference and coolness, as though my pain was an inconvenience he had no patience for. “Were you with someone else all this time?” I asked, my voice steady despite the rage inside me. I was determined not to let this ruin our anniversary night, though my heart felt like it was shattering. I held up my phone and showed him the photo, but Andrew remained expressionless. No shame, no sorry, and no guilt. Andrew took two deliberate steps toward me, his face a mask of cold detachment. His dark eyes, devoid of warmth, bored into mine with a disturbing intensity. “Listen to me, Alicia,” he said, his voice laced with contempt. “Don’t get ahead of yourself! And never stop me concerning such unimportant matters!” He warned sternly. His words struck me like a knife, but I was desperate to hold on to some shred of understanding. I was ready to make excuses for him, to find a reason for his actions that I could accept. I reached out for his hand, my voice trembling with a mix of hope and desperation. “Just tell me you didn’t have sex with her, Andrew. Please, tell me the pictures aren’t true!” He yanked his hand away from my grasp, his expression unreadable. “I was drunk,” he said dismissively. “My secretary thought it was her job to take care of me and make me feel good.” His cold explanation only deepened my pain. Before I could respond, he turned away from me and walked into the bathroom, leaving me standing there, crushed and alone. Did he truly think his vague answer to my question would stop me from finding the truth? As his wife and mate, I deserved a clear answer. But if he simply ignored me, what should I do? Back in college, I had been one of the top students. My results were excellent, and I had remarkable abilities. I could have secured a job at Silver Fang Company, where Andrew worked. However, he had made me forgo that opportunity, insisting I stay home to fulfil my duties as a housewife. I was confined to taking care of our daughter, Elisa, while Andrew continued his work at the company. I had no desire to be just a housewife, so I poured myself into charitable endeavours. This work made me popular and beloved within the pack, but it also left me with no means to discover the full truth about Andrew's words. My heart was filled with confusion and pain. Was there anything more tragic than a wife not even having the right to get confirmation from her husband himself about whether he had cheated on her? Before my thought deepened, Andrew walked out of the bathroom in a towel wrapped around his waist. He was so hot and tempting. No wonder all of the female wolves in our pack wanted him. I had longed for one simple thing tonight: for Andrew to claim me as his own, to show me that he still desired me. But my hopes were quickly dashed when he slipped into his robe and dressed with detached speed. Disappointment washed over me, and I bowed my head, lost in a swirl of thoughts and sadness. Just then, Andrew approached me, breaking the heavy silence. “Here you go,” he said, his voice lacking warmth as he handed me a small black box. My curiosity was piqued despite the turmoil inside me. I carefully opened the box, revealing a stunning diamond necklace; a piece I had always admired and desired. The sight of the necklace, so exquisite and elegant, brought a fleeting smile to my lips. For a brief moment, I felt a tinge of hope. “I guess he didn’t forget about our anniversary,” I thought to myself as I ran my fingers over the sparkling gems. “Andrew, you…” I began, lifting my head to express my gratitude for the beautiful necklace, but his next words sliced through my fragile excitement like a blade. “You’ll wear that to the charity gala in two days,” he said, his tone cold and dismissive. “I wouldn’t want anyone to know the Alpha’s wife is less than perfect… Don’t embarrass me.” With that, he didn’t wait for my response. He simply turned on his heel and left the room, leaving me in stunned silence. The room felt like it was collapsing around me. The weight of his words hit harder than I expected. He had completely forgotten our anniversary again, treating it with such reluctance that my heart ached. My hand fell heavily onto my lap as I stared at the necklace. Tears could not be controlled any more and flowed down. That night, I didn't sleep, I had thought of ending the marriage many times. But it was too difficult to make the decision. What if my daughter wants her daddy at home?
What if other pack members will judge me?
I had no answers in my heart.
Alicia's POV**Two Days Later**“Get dressed quickly; we wouldn’t want to be late for the charity gala! And don’t forget the necklace!” Andrew’s deep, cold voice commanded abruptly the moment he was done preparing. In his black suit, he dashed out of the room without looking at me. I tried my best to be quick, but just as I reached for the necklace, the loud ringing of my phone caught my attention.Picking it up, I placed it to my ear. “Hello, who is…” I began, but a tense voice echoed from the other side of the line.“Luna Alicia, you have to hurry! Your mother has just been hospitalised. You need to get here right away!”“What?” I gasped, my eyes widening in shock. “My mother?” I repeated, desperate to make sense of the news.“Hurry!” The call ended abruptly, leaving me with a rush of panic and uncertainty. It was the day of the charity gala, an event I was supposed to attend with Andrew. But now, my mother was in the hospital, and I was torn. What was I supposed to do?Before I cou
Alicia's POV“Your mother’s condition has stabilised now, Luna Alicia,” the doctor’s words pierced through my deep thoughts, making me turn to him immediately.“My mother? Can I see her now?” I asked, panic evident in my expression.“Of course, Luna!” He bowed his head and I didn’t hesitate to walk past him and head into the room where my mother was placed.Pushing the door open, I expected to find her awake and willing to welcome me, but I was halted in my tracks when I saw her lying unconscious on the bed.“Why isn’t she awake yet?” I asked, gazing back at Doctor Albert.“We gave her emergency treatment. I’m sure she’ll wake soon enough. She just needs rest,” he responded, bowing his head again before turning on his heels and leaving.I walked over to her bedside. Seeing her like this broke my heart. I reached for her hand and sat beside her, wishing she would open her eyes and call me by name.As I held my mother’s hand, tears began to pool in my eyes. The image of Andrew and Veron
Alicia's POV.“Andrew will always love one person, Alicia, and we both know that it'll always be me! After all you saw the photos… he had me in his arms all night!”Veronica's taunts hurt me deeply. All I could do was lie in bed, tossing and turning, replaying her cruel words in my mind. Her words made me both angry and heartbroken. For years, Andrew had never touched me or shown me any real affection. Yet now, he was lying on the same bed as Veronica, his stepsister.Did you really need to go this far to show how much you hate me? Did you really need to go this far to make me feel like I disgust you, Andrew? I bit my lip hard, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall down my ashen cheeks. The sadness I felt, knowing that Andrew had always cherished and wanted Veronica more than me, made it almost impossible for me to sleep after a long, exhausting day at the hospital. As dawn approached, I was still wide awake, with dark circles forming under my eyes. The night see
Alicia's POV.We were so close. Man's muscle body strength easily stopped my falling.I didn't expect Andrew to hold my balance. He helped me find my foot on the ground and then again he quickly kept his distance from me.His hand that helped me was clenched into a fist and put behind his back.“Are you okay?” I felt his words soften for a moment.“Yes, I am fine. Just lack of sleep.”“You should stay at home to find your peace.”He rarely shows his care to me. I caught this opportunity.“Please Andrew, I need the answer. In our whole three years marriage and our yeas’ acquaintance, please don’t be so cruel to me.” I am nearly begging for his reply.“Alicia, not every question has an answer, for me or for you.”What did he mean?“I don’t understand you, Andrew.”I saw him go back to his desk and seemingly thought of something. His face turned cold again.“Just leave my office.”“No. I am not leaving. Andrew, I changed my questions to a simple easy and short one.”I bet the first half d
Alicia's POV.It felt as though my world was unravelling, the agony almost unbearable. My mother, the one person who had always been there for me, was gone… she was dead.My whole world collapsed. In the next few minutes, I couldn’t understand what was happening around me. I refused to accept the truth, the horrible truth. The doctor and the nurses left me and the door to the emergency unit creaked open.My heart dropped as I turned toward the door, only to be met with the harrowing sight of my mother’s body being wheeled out on a stretcher. She was covered from head to toe with a stark white sheet, a cruel act indicating her death. My eyes widened in deep pain, the tears momentarily freezing in my eyes as the gravity of the scene hit me with a jarring force.Slowly, I forced myself to stand, my legs shaking uncontrollably beneath me, each step toward the stretcher feeling like an eternity. The stretcher halted in front of me. I moved closer, my heart pounding with an intense, almost
Andrew's POV.“Let's get a divorce, Andrew… I'm done being good to you when all I get is your cruel response and this loveless marriage!”Alicia's words reverberated in my head as I sat down in the conference hall before my subordinates. They had something to discuss, but I didn't understand anything. I had my own problems. It’s been about a week, and still, I couldn't get Alicia's words out of my head. I couldn’t focus on whatever I was doing. Was it that I felt bad or broken knowing that it was over?As it stood, I should be happy; I should be glad that she was planning on ending the marriage. But then, I kept having mixed feelings. I got angry most times, and I got sad too. With a heavy sigh leaving my lips, I rubbed and massaged my temples, my thoughts hovering all over the place as I sat still, worried. Just then, Liam's voice broke through the trance I was engulfed in.“Alpha Andrew?” He called out, his hand gently tapping me on the shoulder and making me turn to him.The second
Alicia's POV.“It’s hard to say this, but goodbye, Mom.” Hot tears trickled down my face as I stood close to my mother’s grave, watching the men I had hired to cover her corpse.I wore all black, with black gloves signifying her death. My daughter, Elisa, stood right beside me, her eyes watching her grandmother being covered as well. It was a painful sight, the kind that brought nothing but hurt, sadness, and fear. With the black umbrella in my grip, I shielded myself and my daughter from the cold rain, avoiding its touch on our skin. It was a rainy day, and I was certain it was meant to show that the moon goddess had accepted my mother’s body.“Mommy?” Elisa turned to look at me, a worried expression on her face. “Isn’t Daddy coming to see Granny?” she asked, her tender voice echoing in the graveyard.“No, honey…” I sniffled as I shook my head. “He wasn’t invited. Maybe next time.” I lied. I wasn’t sure what to say to her.I had planned and attended the burial alone with my daughter
Alicia's POV.Now that my passport application and divorce documents had been signed, I wasted no time packing up my luggage and that of my daughter, Elisa.I didn't want to embark on a late journey to our new home, so I did my best to ensure I packed everything we would need without leaving behind any important items. As I folded the clothes neatly and placed them into each suitcase, Elisa, holding a dragon toy in her hand, walked up to me. Her face was contorted with confusion and anxiety as she held onto my dress and pulled it gently.“Mommy, is there a problem? Why are you packing?” she asked, her voice tender and soft as she sought a response from me.Seeing that she was curious and wouldn’t stop asking about what I was doing until I responded, I didn’t hesitate to crouch down to her level. My hand gently grabbed her shoulders as I stared directly into her eyes with love and care.“I know this might sound a bit weird to you, Elisa, but it's for the best. We are moving to a new ci
