Alicia's POV
My hand shook uncontrollably, and I found myself blinking repeatedly, struggling to believe what I was seeing. The picture on my phone felt like a cruel joke, but the pain was all too real. I was lost in the agony of the photo when the door to the room suddenly swung open, and Andrew walked in. A heavy ache settled in my heart, and a storm of emotions brewed on my face. Without a word, I marched up to him, my steps fueled by a mix of anger and hurt. “Why is another woman touching you, Andrew? Are you really cheating on me now?” I demanded, my voice thick with bitterness. I fought to keep my tears at bay, but the pain was almost too much to bear. I tried my best to not let myself be upset by his cold attitude, but I never expected his betrayal in our marriage. The betrayal was so much more painful than his previous actions in the past years. He had never held me with such tenderness or looked at me with the affection I had always yearned for. Yet, here he was, entangled with someone else, being intimate with a stranger in a way he had never offered me. “What’s the meaning of this?” Andrew’s voice was deep and cutting, filling the room with an icy edge. His tone dripped with indifference and coolness, as though my pain was an inconvenience he had no patience for. “Were you with someone else all this time?” I asked, my voice steady despite the rage inside me. I was determined not to let this ruin our anniversary night, though my heart felt like it was shattering. I held up my phone and showed him the photo, but Andrew remained expressionless. No shame, no sorrow, and no guilt. Andrew took two deliberate steps toward me, his face a mask of cold detachment. His dark eyes, devoid of warmth, bored into mine with a disturbing intensity. “Listen to me, Alicia,” he said, his voice laced with contempt. “Don’t get ahead of yourself! And never stop me concerning such unimportant matters!” he warned sternly. His words struck me like a knife, but I was desperate to hold on to some shred of understanding. I was ready to make excuses for him, to find a reason for his actions that I could accept. I reached out for his hand, my voice trembling with a mix of hope and desperation. “Just tell me you didn’t have sex with her, Andrew. Please, tell me the pictures aren’t true!” He yanked his hand away from my grasp, his expression unreadable. “I was drunk,” he said dismissively. “My secretary thought it was her job to take care of me and make me feel good.” His cold explanation only deepened my pain. Before I could respond, he turned away from me and walked into the bathroom, leaving me standing there, crushed and alone. Did he truly think his vague answer to my question would stop me from finding the truth? As his wife and mate, I deserved a clear answer. But if he simply ignored me, what should I do? Back in college, I had been one of the top students. My results were excellent, and I had remarkable abilities. I could have secured a job at Silver Fang Company, where Andrew worked. However, he had made me forgo that opportunity, insisting I stay home to fulfill my duties as a housewife. I was confined to taking care of our daughter, Elisa, while Andrew continued his work at the company. I had no desire to be just a housewife, so I poured myself into charitable endeavors. This work made me popular and beloved within the pack, but it also left me with no means to discover the full truth about Andrew's words. My heart was filled with confusion and pain. Was there anything more tragic than a wife not even having the right to get confirmation from her husband himself about whether he had cheated on her? Before my thoughts deepened, Andrew walked out of the bathroom in a towel wrapped around his waist. He was so hot and tempting. No wonder all of the female wolves in our pack wanted him. I had longed for one simple thing tonight: for Andrew to claim me as his own, to show me that he still desired me. But my hopes were quickly dashed when he slipped into his robe and dressed with detached speed. Disappointment washed over me, and I bowed my head, lost in a swirl of thoughts and sadness. Just then, Andrew approached me, breaking the heavy silence. “Here you go,” he said, his voice lacking warmth as he handed me a small black box. My curiosity was piqued despite the turmoil inside me. I carefully opened the box, revealing a stunning diamond necklace; a piece I had always admired and desired. The sight of the necklace, so exquisite and elegant, brought a fleeting smile to my lips. For a brief moment, I felt a tinge of hope. “I guess he didn’t forget about our anniversary,” I thought to myself as I ran my fingers over the sparkling gems. “Andrew, you…” I began, lifting my head to express my gratitude for the beautiful necklace, but his next words sliced through my fragile excitement like a blade. “You’ll wear that to the charity gala in two days,” he said, his tone cold and dismissive. “I wouldn’t want anyone to know the Alpha’s wife is less than perfect… Don’t embarrass me.” With that, he didn’t wait for my response. He simply turned on his heel and left the room, leaving me in stunned silence. The room felt like it was collapsing around me. The weight of his words hit harder than I expected. He had completely forgotten our anniversary again, treating it with such reluctance that my heart ached. My hand fell heavily onto my lap as I stared at the necklace. Tears could not be controlled anymore and flowed down. That night, I didn't sleep. I had thought of ending the marriage many times. But it was too difficult to make the decision. What if my daughter wants her daddy at home? What if other pack members judge me? I had no answers in my heart.Alicia's POVSeeing that I had been given the week off from work, I decided to get up and do the house chores myself. Plus, I had informed my nanny not to show up.With a smile on my face, I began to wash the dishes, cook, and clean. From what I could tell, Elisa was playing, and that’s why she clearly hadn’t bothered me for now.I tried my best to keep everywhere clean before I could go do the laundry. Just as I was still caught up with so many house chores, the loud knock against the door caught my attention. It made me curious, considering the fact that I had informed the nanny not to show up today. Besides, I barely knew anyone around the area. So who was it at the door? I pondered deeply. The knock came again, swift and abrupt this time around. Without hesitation, I took off my apron and tossed it onto the chair that was beside me. I headed for the living room.I had to check if I was okay too before opening the door.I began to speak, thinking it was my nanny, “I told you not to
Brian's POV. The bottle was already half-empty.I sat on the edge of my bed, my fingers curled tightly around the glass as I stared into the golden liquid, hoping it would blur the sharp images in my mind. But no matter how long I stared, no matter how fast the alcohol hit my system, Alicia’s terrified face wouldn’t fade.My stomach turned as I remembered her trembling hands, the way her eyes welled up with fear when she told me what happened. I should’ve been there. I should’ve protected her. The fact that it happened in my hotel made the guilt heavier. My chest felt like something was pressing against it, a weight I couldn’t shake.I tipped the glass and swallowed it all at once. It burned going down, but it didn’t stop the ache. The door creaked open behind me."Alpha Brian?" Nathan’s voice broke through the silence.I didn’t turn. "What is it, Nathan?"He stepped inside, closing the door gently behind him. I heard the soft thud of his boots on the carpet."Just wanted to give y
Alicia's POV. Mr. Brian's voice still echoed in my ears, low and firm. "I'll take you home, Alicia. No arguments."My heart fluttered at the idea. Not from excitement, but dread. I looked up at him, my boss, the president of the company, standing tall in his usual dark suit. His expression was unreadable, as always. Calm. Composed. In control. He looked at me as if he already knew what I would say, as if my resistance was pointless."Sir, I appreciate it, but... I don’t think it’s a good idea. People might start talking." My voice was barely above a whisper. I looked down at my feet, trying to avoid the intensity of his eyes.He didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. "And you think I care about what they say?"I swallowed hard, still not meeting his gaze. "It could cause problems. Rumors."There was a long pause before he spoke again. His tone is sharper now, more commanding. "Refusing me would be disobedience, Alicia. You’re already on your second strike. Do you really want a third?"My chest
Brian's POV. After wrapping things up with Mr. Thompson, I finally let out a deep breath. The man was a pain; arrogant, loud, and always trying to talk over everyone. But I’d handled him, like always. I turned around, expecting silence, but instead, I saw Alicia rising to her feet. Her movements were slow, almost cautious. Then I noticed something off—her steps wobbled, and her knees buckled slightly. Before I could think twice, I moved.I reached her just in time, scooping her up into my arms like it was second nature. Her body stiffened, and she started to struggle, pushing weakly against my chest. But I held her tighter.“Don’t move,” I said firmly, my voice low but clear. “Just stay calm.”Her hands froze on my chest. She looked up at me with wide, questioning eyes, and something in me reacted; something hot, deep in my core. I wasn’t expecting that. Her eyes locked onto mine, searching, confused, maybe even a little angry, but she didn’t say a word. She didn’t have to. That ga
Brian's POVClimbing into the car, I didn't hesitate to ignite the engine. As it roared to life, I noticed my phone buzzing. When I looked at it, I realized it was the address that James had sent to Alicia to go pick up Mr. Thompson. With my jaw clenching tightly, I stepped hard on the accelerator, propelling the car forward in the direction. As I drove, I couldn't help but reflect on the mistakes I had made in just a single day.At first, Alicia was in her office. She was looking weak and unhealthy, but I didn't give much attention to it. Instead, I scolded her and pushed her into making decisions she shouldn't.Now, she was with a man who would do just anything in his power to have a lady beneath him. With my fingers tightening on the steering wheel, I pressed hard on the accelerator. I needed to arrive at the hotel faster to avoid anything from happening.“Just hang in there a little longer, Alicia, I'm coming to get you soon,” I mumbled, my frustration deepening at every turn I to
Brian's POVAs I sat quietly in my office, I kept on recalling how Alicia looked when I found her sleeping in her office this morning. Her eyes were sulken, not to talk about how unkempt her hair was. Could it be that she didn't go back home last night? Did I push her into overworking herself?I shook my head, trying to get the thoughts out of my mind. I shouldn't care. She brought this upon herself. She had the chance to leave, but she chose to stay back.I turned to the documents on my desk. I tried focusing, but it was difficult to do so. Closing the files in frustration, I stood to my feet. I began pacing the office until a knock came at my door. I thought it was Alicia, so I acted all stern and tough.“Come in,” I demanded, expecting her calm demeanor before me. I was instantly disappointed when the door opened to my Beta, Nathan, who bowed his head to me.“What do you want?” I asked in a grumpy tone, seeing that he wasn't the one I was expecting in my office. He paused for a sec
