Softly diffused through the curtains of Rose's apartment, the morning sunlight spilled its gentle, warm glow onto the floor. Rose lay in bed, tangled in the sheets, her mind still reeling from yesterday's events. She had not expected Nathan's declaration of love to affect her like this, nor did she foresee the strength of feelings surging in after him. Yet, at the thought of his declaration of passion, her heart skipped a beat, half with excitement, half with anxiety.

A soft knock on the door jerked her out of her thoughts. She looked around her room, sat up, and slipped into a robe. Opening the door, she found her best friend, Marie, beaming at her with a wide smile.

"I thought I'd surprise you with breakfast!" chirped Marie, holding up a basket filled with pastries and fresh fruit.

Rose couldn't help but smile. "You're a lifesaver. I could use a distraction."

Marie stepped inside, setting the basket on the dining table. "I can see that you've had a rough night. Care to talk about it

Clarity seemed to come, but action needed to happen now.She went out of the apartment to the nearby park for a walk after a quick breakfast. Rose meandered through the city streets, milling with people, her thoughts drifting back to the night she and Nathan had spent together. It was a magical evening of openness and promised commitment. But with each passing day, Rose found herself struggling with feelings of both anticipation and trepidation. It was Monday morning, and with the soft rays of the sun lighting the office, Rose walked in with a folder containing very important documents for Nathan. The office was quiet, unusually so, considering that it was a weekdays' activity hub with many people talking and phones ringing all at once. She took in a deep breath, readying herself for yet another week.As she approached Nathan's office, through the glass panel she could see that he was in a video call. Concentrated, focused, he furrowed and scrunched his brow. Rose admired this—his dedication and drive—because it epitomized many of the things that made him dear to her.She knocked softly at the door and then entered, not wan

The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm ambiance across the room. Rose stirred, feeling Nathan's arm come protectively around her. She smiled, feeling the contentment of that one peaceful, quiet moment. The past few weeks had been hectic with activity, but they'd also drawn them closer together. The buzzing of Nathan's phone on the nightstand broke this tranquility. He stirred, his eyes flickering open, and he turned to see Rose still nestled beside him. He reached for the phone to see what was on the screen. It was a message from his assistant, reminding him about a crucial meeting later that day."I'm sorry to wake you," Nathan said gruffly from sleep. He brushed a shoulder lightly. "I have a meeting this morning, but I will be back for lunch."Rose opened one eye sleepily, then the other, and smiled up at him. "It's okay. I'll be here."Nathan brushed a kiss across her forehead, his eyes clinging to hers in a loving glance. "I shall count the minutes ti

The sun peeped through the blinds, leaving low-cut rays of light to gently illuminate the room as Rose woke up to find Nathan still sleeping beside her. It was such a serene morning, greatly unlike the tumbles and falls she had been going through for the past weeks. Their relationship deepened on turns she did not have any idea about, and the promise of their future was at one time exhilarating and daunting.Slipping out of bed with a minimum of noise, Rose didn't want to wake Nathan. She tiptoed into the kitchen and started preparing breakfast. That was comforting—a familiar routine, normal. While she brewed coffee and made a simple breakfast of eggs and toast, her mind began to slide again back to their conversations of late regarding the future. They had been open and honest with each other regarding their hopes and dreams, and she felt this renewed clarity of mind and committed spirit. As soon as Nathan stirred and moved into the kitchen, he wrapped his arms around her and greeted

The morning sun infiltrated gently through the curtains, bathing the bedroom in its warm golden rays. Nathan and Rose stirred in their sleep as the light entered the room, slowly rousing them from slumber. Nathan, who was generally up early, looked over to see Rose slowly open her eyes to smile at him. It was these kinds of calm, peaceful mornings together that became another one of a long list of traditions so very dear to them in their relationship."Good morning, Rose," Nathan whispered, gently sweeping a stray lock of hair from her face. "How did you sleep?"Rose's eyes flickered open, and she smiled at him with a warm, comfortable smile. "Good morning, Nathan. I slept wonderfully. How about you?"Nathan bent to her and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "I couldn't ask for a better start to my day."They lay in bed for a few more moments, just listening to the silence and being near each other. But all too soon, Nathan's phone buzzed on the nightstand, chirping a happy greeting

Her beautiful hair had soft curls that would be pinned at the back, with a simple but breathtaking tiara to hold it in place and catch the light so beautifully. She also had a soft veil, just slightly over her face, to add tha

The office of Sanders Enterprises was bustling with activity. If the charity gala might have turned out to be a success in many ways, the real work was only about to start. Nathan and Rose were back in their office, sifting through all the information they had gathered, determined to crack the case wide open. The only sounds in the office were the tapping on the keyboards and, once in a while, the rustling of paper. Nathan was working behind his mahogany desk, going through his notes with great care. Rose was at her desk facing him, doing her own research in her documents and emails, searching for information."Rose, take a look at this," Nathan said, breaking the silence. He handed her a folder filled with documents. "I dug up some interesting information from my conversations at the gala. It seems there might be a connection between the recent financial discrepancies and a certain group of investors."She took the folder and turned the pages. "This is big," Rose said, eyes wide. "We

It was easy to tell that they were partners, and their combined charisma drew some admiring glances."You ready for this?" Nathan asked me, his eyes flicking around the room.Rose twirled the intricate necklace about her neck. "Ready as I'll ever be. We need to be strategic tonight—make the right connections and gathering useful intel without raising suspicion."Nathan nodded, his eyes thinning a little as he surveyed th

There was a hum of activity in the conference room, where the team had gauged for a necessary briefing. Nathan and Rose fronted the table, their faces showing a combination of fatigue and determination. It had reached a very crucial point in the investigation, and every upcoming move would turn out to be significant in coming up with the whole scope of violation and all those who were involved in it."Thank you all for coming on such short notice," Nathan started off, the steadiness of his voice come from he had thought over this speech many times during the day. "We have achieved much in the past few days, but we are now at a very critical point. We must lock in our plan of attack and complete the next phase.Rose stepped to the front, surprisingly confident for someone who's been up for a day and a half and under some hard, very hard, pressure. "We have the manipulated data recovered and followed one lead that might mean a big breakthrough. It looks like our case is about to overlap

Nathan smiled at her focus and dedication; she'd been his anchor through all this turmoil."Nathan, I've found something you might want to see," Rose's voice broke through his thoughts. He looked up, immediately interested. His eyes wandered to the other side of the room, where she was working at her desk, poring over with furrows on her brow."Nathan, we need to talk about what happens now," Andrew's voice cut into Nathan's reverie. The rain had begun pounding against his windshield as Nathan cruised around the city. Its cadence was almost soothing against the turmoil brewing inside. The lead from the previous night could possibly take them to a real turning point in their investigation, and Nathan would see it through no matter what. Added to the weight of the ongoing breach, with personal stakes now involved, this moment became critical. As he neared the address that Andrew had given him, Rose continued to creep into Nathan's mind. Her constant reassurance during the probe felt like a lighthouse in the darkness, and he could not help feeling they were very close to something of real significance. The stakes had become personal as much as professional, something he had not considered from the beginning, and Nathan felt himself more committed than ever to closing the breach and securing their future.Nathan parked in front of the nondescript building, then took a deep breath. It looked like an older building, and

The office was unusually quiet when Nathan arrived early the next morning; the storm of the night before had passed, leaving behind a crisp, clear sky. His mind was still racing from last night's clandestine meeting and the new lead on the breach. Though aware that the information he had been given could be pivotal, he needed to carefully assess the situation and further strategize on their next move.Rose was already at her desk when he walked in, relaxed and professional despite the late night she, too, had pulled off. She turned her face toward him, offering a reassuring smile, with her eyes speaking volumes between relief and anxiety."Good morning, Nathan. How was it last night?" she asked, her voice soft but loaded with interest.Deep breath; thanks to her support, Nathan could do so. "Morning, Rose.
