The 10 year old Vernon went out of their house to play soccer with his friends. While they were playing, the ball went to the little girl who's sitting on the mushroom shape bench near the fountain. The girl has black bob cut hair that is as dark as night. Her skin is pale as if a little scratch would tear her flesh. Her eyes became a shade lighter, twinkling under the sunlight. She's cute, enough to gather the attention of the boys who are near to their adolescent stage. One of them was Vernon who couldn't keep his eyes off her, not because he's attracted, but because he noticed how lifeless the girl's expressions were.
'She's like a doll,' he commented inwardly. Like a literal doll, the girl was sitting without moving or changing the direction of her eyes. If she wasn't blinking, everyone might think she's really a doll which happened to look so realistic.
