Chapter 4

"Mike Anderson is being sued for divorce by his wife, Riley Lightstar, because of Mike's affair with his secretary."

That's what's in the news headlines about the ongoing divorce lawsuit. Mike Anderson is quite a well-known man, he has a business in the entertainment field and many artists that he manages even though he is not the biggest company of all.

But his name still counts.

"Oh, lord! Isn't the secretary a man? It's Jason, isn't it?!”

A lot of talk about the shock of what they just found out, they never suspected that Mike had an illicit relationship with Jason. During this time, Mike had always treated Riley well and seemed very loving.

"To make matters worse, Mike has been in this relationship for three years. Do you know what that means?” A woman with her hair in a bun using a pen looked at her friend excitedly.

“He married Riley to cover this up! He's so heartless!"

"Right! How dare he do something rotten like this, because of his inability to be honest, he involved other people!” the other woman was furious when she found out, she acted like she knew all too well the pain Riley was going through.

It was only natural that Riley had filed for divorce from Mike, she had been lied to and her heartache almost cost her death.

Elsewhere, Lucius was waiting for Riley. After going through her first divorce hearing, Riley looks very calm, she walks surrounded by reporters and she ignores the reporters.

She didn't want to say anything else, they could figure it out for themselves and everything she had given as evidence was very clear.

The reporters had gotten the scandalous photos of Mike and Jason, but Riley didn't forgive them both. Until now, Mike was still begging her and didn't care about it.

In her now moving car, Riley saw the profile of a man and she smirked while biting her index finger. She felt pleased and lucky because it turned out that the man who helped her was very great.

He is Lucius Edmund Carson, he is a wealthy family. He is famous for old money, and their efforts are very much. Their family foundation was solid so that anyone who dealt with them would get into trouble, they could silence the law if they wanted to.

Because of that, Riley quickly got a lot of evidence about Mike and Jason, and because of Luciuss actions also, the stock in Mike's company dropped drastically.

He asked the shareholders to withdraw their money and give them a place in one of the Carson family companies. Only a fool would refuse that, of course, they accepted Lucius request.

They also knew that Lucius was an influential person who might become the head of the Carson family.

The Carson family consisted of five families, but each generation had a head of the family, as evidenced by their abilities. Lucius grandfather was the head of the family now, and Lucius was the next most decisive person. Playing with Lucius means an invitation to war that instantly makes you lose.

Rather than making Lucius an enemy, it was better to curry favor with him.

Now, Riley just found out about it. She just found out that Lucius is a very great person, she felt stupid himself for not realizing it since the first time they met.

"Thank you, Lucius."

Riley sent a message to Lucius.

Seeing the message on his cell phone, Lucius immediately called Riley.

"You're just saying thank you in a text message?" he asked sincerely.

“So, how should I put it, Master Lucius? Ah, thank you, Master Lucius, it is because of you that this matter was quickly resolved.” Riley said it in a sweet voice that made Lucius taste his lips.

He gave a seductive smile.

"Stop your car."

"What?"

"Just stop it." Lucius gave orders to Riley.

"Stop the car now." Riley immediately gave orders to the driver, and when the car stopped, Riley's car door was opened by someone.

The one came in and looked at Riley, who was silent, staring at him.

“Lucius….” her voice was faint from being very surprised.

"I've been behind you ever since."

"You're stalking me?" Riley said quickly without wanting to offend Lucius.

Lucius instead gave a refreshing little chuckle. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he looked very charming. He was dressed neatly in a black suit.

"I saw your divorce trial earlier, didn't you notice my car?"

"That means you're stalking me, Master Lucius."

Lucius tilted his head and touched Riley's cheek with the back of his index finger.

"I don't like being called master, Riley."

Even though Riley said it as a joke, she called Lucius by name.

A man as great as Lucius even became her friend, they became close because Mike made a fuss at Lucius house.

"All right, Lucius." Riley gently pushed Lucius big hand away, making a disappointed expression on Lucius.

"Earlier, you said you didn't want to accept my thanks via text. So I'm going to say it now. T-"

Lucius immediately covered Riley's mouth with one finger and smiled sweetly.

“That's not the way to say thank you."

Riley raised an eyebrow, surprised by what Lucius had said.

“Lunch with me, Riley. Come on, get out of your car."

Lucius stretched out his hand, Riley hesitated for a moment watching the hand and finally grabbed Lucius hand.

She got out of her car and was now in Luciuss car, following Lucius, who was taking her nowhere.

“Are you satisfied with what happened to them, Riley?” asked Lucius in a deep voice. He looked at Riley, his eyes swept over Riley's face, which he found very charming.

He was genuinely attracted to this woman in front of him, and not once or twice had he shown his interest in Riley. After this divorce matter ended, Lucius had prepared something that would come as a complete surprise to Riley.

"Their careers have been ruined, they get ridiculed, and of course, I divorced him."

"Satisfied?"

Lucius question made Riley silent, she thought about it with a slightly furrowed brow.

To be honest, she wasn't satisfied yet. There was a feeling inside her that wanted to make both of them feel the same heartache.

Lucius kept his eyes on Riley and he knew the doubt in Riley's heart.

“Then let me finish the part, Riley. You will be satisfied with the results later.”

With an apparent pressure, Riley realized Luciuss words were severe and strangely, she nodded her head slowly. She was Permitting Lucius to do something to satisfy this aching heart.

“I'll be looking forward to it, Lucius. Maybe you'll put on a fireworks display that makes me happy." Riley smiled a little, she didn't want to think about it. But her words were full of hints that she wanted something exciting.

“So easy for me, Riley.” Lucius lifted Riley's palm and kissed the back of it.
