Prologue

Seven years later...

"Ms. Foreister, pinapatawag po kayo sa meeting," mahinahong wika ng Secretary ko.

I rolled my damn eyes because I'm not done with my sketching!

"Did you call the other Architects?" I asked while I continue looking and doing my sketch. I've been busy with my sketch since many clients is showing up.

"Yes, Ma'am. I already call them."

"What's up with the sudden meeting?" 

"CEO hire four famous Engineers and they are in the conference room for the meeting," she answered and fix her glasses so I nod in confirmation. I rolled my eyes, thinking of how to avoid the meeting and continue my works.

"I have to continue this but argh!"  I hissed and retouch my light make up. I didn't even clean my messy bun because I'm so frustrated right now!

"You may go," I coldly answered. She nod before leaving me. "Who are they to interrupt what I'm doing! If this is not important, I'm gonna throw them out of here in the company!" I hissed again and leave my office, only to hear Savannah ruckus.

"Wew, gaano ba 'to kaimportante at ginulo ako!?" sigaw ni Savannah kaya tinakpan ko ang tenga ko dahil nage-echo ang boses n'ya at pinagkakatingin kami ng ibang pang mga interns at mga nagtra-trabaho dito.

"Lalo naman ako naghahanap ako ng Engineer ngayon at dahil need ko sa bagong project ko sa Cebu!" asik naman ni Olivia habang ang mga buhok nito ay gulong gulo. Napailing na lang ako at nagpatuloy maglakad.

"Sabi nila na may mga bagong Engineer daw 'yung dumating and guess what apat sila!" natutuwang saad ni Phoebe pero dahil tamad ako mag salita ay nag lakad na lamang ako papuntang elevator kaya sumunod sila, mabilis kong pinindot ang 18th floor which is conference room.

Nang makarating kami ay naglakad kami with fierce face. Ang bawat tapak ng heels namin sa tiles ay nagiging sanhi nang ingay. Binuksan ko ang pinto at nakita namin ang mga bagong Engineer na nakatakip ng itim na folder.

"Good afternoon, CEO," bati nilang tatlo pero ako ay tumingin lang ng walang emotion.

"Oh, andito na pala kayo! Eto na ang mga bago at famous nating engineers from Abroad!" kinikilig na saad ni CEO kaya nangunot ang noo at tumingin ng maigi. Nagulat ako ng sabay sabay nilang ibinaba ang Itim na folder at kasabay no'n ang libo-libong alala na siyang pinipilit kong kalimutan.

"Ikaw ang papakasalan ko, Meggay. Ikaw ang gusto kong maging asawa,"  sincerong wika ni Patricio habang nakatingin sa akin ng maigi. My eyes sparkle with different emotions, thousands of butterflies is emerging to my stomach. 

Napalitan ang walang emosyon ang na aking mukha at naging gulat, umawang ang labi namin. My heart ache with the pain that I used to feel before. 

How dare them to come back and face us like they did nothing?!

My face became emotionless once again. The pain doubled yet I didn't show any of it.

How could they face us like this? How could they show their face to my friends, they hurt them so much.

Lumabas ako ng Conference room ng walang ka-emosyon emosyon. I don't want to see them once again.

"Pumpkin!"

He once again called me with that stupid Endearment that I always hear from him. I didn't hate him but I don't want to be called by it again.
