Episode-4
Imprinting the souls.
Adom pov
"Can someone imprint in our souls?" This is what my heart wept from when I first met her until this moment. I watched her, hidden in the shadows, as she hurried through the dimly lit parking lot, her footsteps quick, almost panicked.Tarini. She had no idea I was already aware of everything that had transpired. I’d seen her with Aryan, heard the way he spoke to her, and felt the pulse of discomfort between them. It was clear, even from a distance, that she wasn’t interested in him, yet the idiot didn’t take the hint.
But I couldn’t just stand by and let him do that to her. Not when she had no idea of the connection we shared. It was instinct, primal even, to intervene. My blood had burned for her the moment I saw her again—this time in this life. It had taken 700 years to find her, and now, she was standing in front of me, clueless to everything I knew. The sound of her uneven breathing drew my attention. She was shaken, trying to pull herself together, but I could sense the crackling tension in her. As I stepped forward, my presence didn’t surprise her; it should’ve, but she didn’t jump or react with alarm. She’d already sensed me, I suppose, even if she didn’t know why. “Are you all right, Miss Das?” My voice was low, purposeful. I wanted to hear her and see her, but I didn’t want to show how much I was already feeling. She was here, in front of me, and I could almost taste the familiar pull that resonated between us. She straightened up, forcing composure. Good. I needed her calm, but I also needed her to see me—not just the professor, but the man who had waited. “I...yes. Thank you, Professor Valerian.” She didn’t look me in the eyes, but I felt her body language shift, trying to act unaffected, despite everything I knew. She wasn’t fooling me. She was pretending. There was a moment of silence. I could’ve let her go, let her push me aside and continue her life, but I couldn’t. Not when I’d waited so long. Not when I knew exactly what she needed, what she would eventually become to me—whether she remembered or not. She glanced at her phone, the distraction pulling her attention away. Stacey, no doubt. The woman who couldn’t understand Tarini’s depths, only her outer appearances, her youth, her idealism. But the call was important, I could feel it. “Your friend?” I asked, my tone flat but laced with curiosity. Her hesitation told me more than words ever could. “Yes, she…actually, she’s here.” Her words didn’t matter. What mattered was how she was avoiding me, how the air between us thickened. I wasn’t a fool; I could tell she wasn’t just thinking about Aryan, but about me. The space we occupied together was weighted with something unspoken. Before I could speak again, she looked at the phone. I didn’t need to know what it would be—gossip, excitement, some sort of meaningless triviality. And yet, it felt invasive to me. She was distracting herself again, keeping her distance from me, even as she stood right next to me.“So your friend wanted to spy on me?” I asked, not particularly interested in the answer, but I needed to hear her say it.
Tarini flinched, giving me a nervous smile. “She’s, um…quite interested in many things.” It wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the full truth either. The bond between us had already been formed, a thousand lifetimes ago. I didn’t need her to see that right now, but she would. And I would be patient.
Without another word, I turned and gestured toward the exit. “Let’s get you back to your friend, Miss Das.” My voice was firm, but there was an undertone of something else—something deeper, that I couldn’t deny. She nodded, and I could feel the subtle tension in her as she fell in line beside me. Walking next to her felt both too short and too long. Every step, every breath we shared in the silence seemed like a small eternity. The way she held herself—so composed, so unaware of the truth behind her existence. It was maddening. As we neared the entrance, I saw Stacey standing there, practically vibrating with anticipation. The look in her eyes said it all—she wanted something. Her gaze darted from me to Tarini, filled with curiosity, and I could see the faint flicker of envy in her expression. “Tarini!” Stacey exclaimed, but her eyes immediately sought me out, her excitement barely contained. “And Professor Valerian… what a surprise.” I didn’t bother to hide my indifference. There was nothing here for me, not yet. She was an interruption. I turned my attention back to Tarini, watching her, sensing her. But then Stacey’s sharp gaze shifted to something else. The woman with me. I could feel the instant tension, the curious question hanging in the air. “Is that…is she with you, Professor?” I didn’t answer right away, letting the weight of the silence stretch out, before replying coldly, “A colleague.” It wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the whole truth. There were other things I wasn’t saying—things she wouldn’t understand. Things that no one would ever understand until it was too late.I tuned Stacey out, focusing only on the way Tarini’s body language had shifted. She wasn’t happy with this. She didn’t like it. I could sense it—the discomfort in her.
“Miss Das,” I said softly, but the command in my tone made her turn to me. “Take care of yourself. Not everyone in this world means well.” I felt her stiffen, my words catching her off guard. She didn’t understand what I meant, but that was fine. She would. Eventually. I turned to leave, my steps quick, and as I walked away, I could feel her gaze on my back. That feeling—the pull—was there. It was always there. But it wasn’t just me. She felt it too. And I would wait, as I always had. For her to remember...She will come back! Adam povI could feel her eyes on me as she walked away, the weight of her gaze pressing against the fabric of the night. It was as if she were pulling me back, even if she didn’t know it. There was no escape from this connection—not for me, and not for her. The ties that bound us were old, ancient in their persistence. We had crossed paths a thousand times before, and we would again. As I reached the street my steps slowed. I didn’t want to leave—not yet. Not when I was so close. The silence between us, even after I had walked away, hung heavy in the air. I could still feel the tension we had shared, the unspoken understanding that passed between us. I had seen it in her eyes, the flicker of recognition. She didn’t know yet, but I could feel it. She was beginning to sense something.I stopped for a moment, just outside of view, and leaned against the stone pillar of the entrance. Episode -1 End of the Beginning! Tarini's POV Regret! The purest regret washed over my heart. "This is an absolute fuckin bad idea!" I shouted inside my head and got out of my car. The fancy restaurant before me screamed old money and I took a deep breath. "Just an hour. Eat, play cool, and leave this drama!" I instruct myself confidently and walk straight with my 6-inch heels. The stunning visuals inside the restaurant reminded me of a Japanese movie, which I stopped halfway through. Seriously... I hate watching movies with subtitles. As proceeded more steps, I found my date, politely drinking wine while surfing on his phone. 'Mom, I am never gonna forgive you for this!' I fake a smile and approach my so-called date. "Hey hi….!" I try hard to hide my resting bitch face and make myself more pleasant. He saw me like an eye candy and gave me a bright smile. I am damn sure he is not faking like me. It seems more genuine. My breath was still uneven from the altercation, but just as my nerves started to settle, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows, his presence unsettling yet somehow grounding. “Are you all right, Miss Das?” Professor Adam Valerian’s voice was low, almost indifferent, but his eyes held a predatory intensity that made my stomach flip. I straightened up, forcing myself to appear calm. “I...yes. Thank you, Professor Valerian.” His gaze didn’t waver, and I couldn’t help feeling like he could see through every layer I’d built around myself. "Who is he?" His voice sends a thrilling vibration to my body. "He is... a mistake!" I said with a little guilt. I know he won't be involved in anyone's business yet, but his question makes the whole situation weird. "Well, your mistake ran away after hitting th
Episode-3 Him and Dream. As Stacey and I stepped into the cool night air, her excited chatter was already in full swing.“Did you see the way he looked at you?” she squealed with little jealousy, her voice an octave higher than usual. “It was like he saw right through you, Tarini!”I forced a smile, knowing that Stacey’s flair for the dramatic could turn a simple look into a whole love story. But there was no denying that Professor Valerian’s gaze had a weight to it like he was looking past my surface, straight into some hidden part of me I hadn’t even realized was there. And his words echoed in my mind, tugging at something deep within me.“Come on, it was nothing,” I said lightly, trying to shake off the strange hold he had on my thoughts. “He was just… being nice, that’s all.”“Being nice?” Stacey scoffed. “Tarini, people like Professor Valerian don’t just ‘be nice.’ That look… it was intense, almost like he’s seen you somewhere before or…” She trailed off, her eyes widening with
