After Caspian left the hospital, where Dr. Edward had administered injections containing only water and multivitamins—part of a well-orchestrated plan to make the treatment seem credible—he hoped he would eventually be healed of his low sperm count.

As he got into his car, he reflected on his wayward life in Canada, filled with numerous girlfriends before he was pressured into marrying Aurora, whom he had never tried to love. He now faced the consequences of his past actions.

"I think that lady I married loves me. If it wasn't love, why would she have stayed with me despite the way I've mistreated her for the past three years?
