Hi! I am finally done with my exams. How are you? Here is another update. I hope you like it. Question: What do you think Killian has got planned for Penny? Send your comments below and don't forget to give this story your precious gems.
“Killian…” Her voice was barely above a whisper. He walked towards her with a dazzling smile that made her heart race. She averted her gaze to the intricate designs in the park.It lit up her insides and drowned her turmoil for the time being.“I figured I should do this the right way.” His voice called back her attention to him. “Here.” He handed over a bouquet of Lilac flowers to her. She collected and inhaled the scent with her eyes closed. Her eyes opened with a mist.“Thank you, Killian.” She appreciated sincerely.“Come with me.” He offered his elbow for her to take and led her to the centre of the park where a table with two chairs were. The paths were lit with light and decorated with petals.“Everything is beautiful.” The words slipped out of her mouth.Killian smiled and pull out the chair for her. A man appeared out of nowhere to serve the course meal. The waiter took a bow and left. Some jazz music played in the background. She looked around but saw no band. Killian held a
She lingered at the entrance to the motel. She stared at the picture on her phone. Drew had sent her a picture for easy identification. The cab stopped some blocks from the motel due to bad road. Her phone showed a red bar on the battery strength.Crap.She switched it off to save power on her phone and tucked it in her bag. The cash was in her bag. Her hands tightened on the strap. It was the last sum on her account. When she entered, the receptionist pulled her glasses down the bridge of her nose, “Are you lost child?” The elderly woman at the desk asked, peering over her.Penelope glanced at the interior of the motel. It was shabby looking and located on the outskirt of the city. It looked to be the perfect spot for anything shady. Her body shuddered at the thought. Why did Drew pick this place out of all other motels and hotels?“No, ma’ma.” She responded, shaking her head. “I am looking for someone. His name is Drew.” She explained. The old woman leaned back. She had a judgement
She shook her head, “No.” She was grateful to see Max but wondered the hell he found her.“Who the hell is this?” Drew sneered. “Is he one of your clients, too? So many men around you.” His tone dripped with venom. “It wouldn’t take much to ruin you.”“I have called the cops, Ms. Winters. They will be here shortly.” Max said, standing in front of Penelope to shield her.Drew grew alert. He couldn’t afford being arrested. Suddenly, he ran and jumped through the window.Penelope gasped and ran to the window. She watched him crawl away from the motel, limping. Her hand covered her mouth in quiet sobs. Where the hell had everything gone wrong?“Ma’am. You must come with me.” Max spoke, piercing into the ranging thoughts going on in her mind.“What?” She asked weakly. Her knees buckled under her. Max quickly leaped into action and caught her before she could fall on the ground. He assisted her out of the motel and drove to the manor. Penelope could only stare blankly at the view outside. D
Bryan was enjoying the view in the club. Although, he didn’t indulge in drinking and dancing. The strippers offered but he had politely declined. He preferred being a passer-by to being a tourist who wanted in on the whole action.Suddenly, he heard people yelping and cursing as a man with a limp pushed people of his way. His face, although masked with the hoodie, he could feel a piercing glare directed at him.“You want trust to lead? How about earning it?” Pete spat as soon as he reached his seat. He dropped a newspaper on Bryan’s lap. “Why didn’t you clue me in on your sister?”“What?” Bryan asked, looking confused.Lazily, Bryan picked it up and plastered on the front page was her sister and Killian King- the man he despised the most in the world. His grip on the paper tightened.“What the hell?” The light was dimmed but he could never mistake the two people on the front page. “Engagement?”He looked at Pete with disbelief.“You are quite the actor, aren’t you?” Pete sneered. “Why
It had been three days.Three days since the news of Killian and Penelope’s engagement broke out.Three days since Bryan had dragged Penelope back to their condo.Killian called her several times but she didn’t answer her phone. No word. He became worried. Was her brother really scary? What if he had done something to hurt her or the baby?He ran his hand through his hair out of frustration. His actions had cost him so much more than he thought.“Mr. King, breakfast is ready.” Ms. B spoke through the door of his study. He heaved out a resigned sigh and leave his study to follow Ms. B to the dining area. Ms. B served his food and watched him with the sides of her eyes. She was well-aware of the incident that occurred three nights ago. Heck, everyone was aware. The manor had been quiet ever since. They all had to walk on egg shells around him.No one had never seen him completely detached from the world in so long. She watched him pick at one of his favourite meals.“Sir?” Unable to sta
“You have got some nerves coming here.” Bryan’s gaze held some hurt and fierceness behind it.He crossed his arms and glared at Killian, “Get out of here before it is too late.” He added.Killian stepped through the doorway and stood right next to Penelope who was still shocked at seeing him.How did he get her address? She wondered.“I am here for Ms. Winters.” Killian declared, matching the staring intensity with Bryan.“Not if you go through me first.” Bryan gritted, stepping up to Killian.Penelope watched the scene between them helplessly. The two men matched in heights but Bryan was leaner due to his recent health battles.“She is an adult. Let her make the decision.” Killian retorted.“She is my baby sister. I am her guardian.” Bryan countered, pointing towards her.“Really?” Killian acted incredulous. “You could have fooled me. Thought she was your guardian.”Bryan hissed and balled his fist, ready to strike.“No… We are not doing this.” She quickly interrupted them before t
Killian squeezed his face in pain.“Don’t be a baby.” Penelope chided. She cautiously dabbed the mentholated liquid on his wounds. The action made him wince.“Are you serious right now?” Penelope glared at him.Despite her stern warning, she stifled a laugh. Who would have thought the big boss man would wince when it came to pain?Killian fixated his gaze on her as she worked on her face. The way her lashes fluttered softly, how her lips were parted as she blew on his wound. His hand caught the hair that strayed to cover her face on instinct. The action caused both of them to freeze. He pulled the hair behind her ear and stared at her. He longed to crashed his lips on hers so he leaned in to fulfil his desire.Right then, the door was pushed open, revealing Megan. The two moved away from each other in a lightning speed.“I can’t believe you proposed to that bitch.” She hadn’t seen Penelope so she blurted her disdain unaware of her presence in the room yet.“Uhm… That is my cue.” Penel
Angela turned around to see Vivian Thompson.“Vivian… Why are you making a spectacle of yourself?” Angela whispered between them.Vivian scoffed, “A spectacle? What are you doing with her? You used to be my friend and my daughter’s mother-in-law. Now, you are supporting this gold digger?”Penelope chose not to pay attention to her. She had enough drama going on in her life to last her a lifetime already. It didn’t interest her to add to it.“How could you?” Vivian continued and broke into wails, drawing the sympathy of the onlookers.Angela stared at the crowd that gathered near, “What is with the theatrics? What do you want?” She spoke calmly. “Give her the latest and most expensive Louis Vuitton bag here.” Angela ordered one of the assistants.“My daughter did nothing but love your son till her grave.” Vivian continued. Angela watched her with suspicion. The act was unusual of Vivian. She had known Vivian to be a crowd pleaser while she adorned a completely different persona behind
“Congratulations, Ms. Penelope Fords.” The board members erupted in a series of congratulations. She had been voted as the new CEO for Ford Company and all affiliate companies. The new reached Stanley Ford and he was beyond livid. The woman took the one thing that he hoped would still be his if he was granted bail. But his court judgement had been life sentence till death without any chance of parole. It was at that moment that a foreign substance rolled down his cheeks. He didn’t bother catching it because he deserved all that had happened to him. He allowed himself to be driven with so much power, molesting women, blackmailing them and killing simply because he thought he could get away with it.In the end, Penelope Ford won. She provided the DNA evidence, sending Delilah and her daughters away. She didn’t take the house from them because she had no use for it. She, more than most people, understood what it felt like to have no roof over your heads. She wished she could be steel hea
“Max! Fran! Come out!” Penelope screamed at the top of her lungs, wondering where they had hidden. It was their moving day. The boxes had been tapped, packed and waiting for the moving truck. She tried again and went to the back exit to look for them. The kids were testing her patience lately. They had ben rebelling against her since she mentioned that they would be moving to the city. But Max had given her a condition- to move in with Killian. They wanted to spend as much time with her and Killian as well. The thought stressed her out because it further added more pressure on her decision making.“Come on, Max! Fran!” She called outside and was on the verge of giving up when she heard some movement nearby. There was a store room where she kept the supplies.“Max? Come out here!” She ordered sternly. He came out in slow steps with Fran in tow.“Really? Both of you are unbelievable. I am the parent here! As much as I allow you some freedom doesn’t mean you should undermine my authoriti
Revenge never felt this sweet and bittersweet. It had been a couple of days since Jared King trended for the fraud he was. His doctor who forged a report of his ailment had his license revoked as well. So, yeah… Revenge tour was bittersweet as many people lost their jobs, sources of income all to rebuild a system that had fallen into the hands of power-drunk men.Penelope took it upon herself to visit some people before she returned to the countryside. One of those people was Nathan Hoffman.“You have a visitor.” She heard his PA relay to him.“Was there an appointment?” She heard him ask in a tired voice. Her heart bled for him. She imagined the PA shook her head when she heard no response. “Let them in.” He gave his permission.Penelope waited for the PA to come out to accompany her in.“Nathan.” She called as soon as she set foot into his office. He raised his head slowly. A glimmer of light shined in his eyes at the appearance of Penelope.“Penny.” He whispered, almost disbelievi
His eyes looked like they had seen a ghost. He was right. Everything he held dearly would soon become a ghost of his imagination. "T-thank you all for spending today with this old man." He concluded his speech and left the center stage. People began laughing, smiling and toasting to him. A clip played in the background for everyone to see. It was a collage of photos with music attached to it. Stanley smiled so much, his cheeks burned. Slowly, the pictures turned from pictures of his to pictures of the bruises he afflicted on Lola. Everyone gasped at the gory pictures, covering their mouths at the sheer horror of those images. Soon after, names from the black lists were called. Several funds of the government that was diverted. Stanley gasped, shaking his head disbelievingly. "No! None of this is true." He tried to plead with his guests who had adored him some minutes ago, now turned their backs on him.No one listened. People started to leave the parties because soon after, siren
"What have we got?" Killian asked.Boyles held a cigar in between his lips as he took a deep long drag."A lot. Depends on where you want us start." He spoke after putting the smoke in the air. His feet casually crossed over each other on her work desk. She had a study in a makeshift basement. It was no news that Boyles knew about where she was, even though she never revealed where she was writing from in any of her letters. He was the one that anonymously tipped Killian about her whereabouts. They knew because he confessed the minute he set foot into her household, right before plumping into the chair in front of her desk.He was always an enigma thag no one could decipher."His offshore accounts. We must look into it. Several events had been hosted, especially art works which we know he couldn't give the middle finger about. Most of them are usually sent to another location." Killian inquired, looking at the spread papers and files before him."I will have my men on it. I got you an
Penelope woke up to the light streaming down softly on her face. She groaned a little due to the sudden intrusion on her vision she opens her eyes. She adjusted her position and met a wall behind her. Her hand darted to the back to feign the object."Careful, love. Unless you want to stir him awake for another round. I don't mind, though." His voice vibrated against her neck, turning on very early in the morning. She bit her lips and retracted her hand. As tempting as his offer was, she couldn't even summon the strength. The previous night was a tryst that left her moaning her lungs out and causing her to be sore down there. If she somehow made it out of her bed, she would claim victory. The night was sweet, slow and rough. Everything she wanted and desired. She clamper he thighs shut while reminiscing."Talk to me. What are you thinking about?" Killian asked, slipping his hand around her waist and pulled her flush to his front, not condoning any space between them. He let out a sigh
Killian didn’t hold back on having fun with Max and Fran, especially not on his Black Gold credit card. But he didn’t mind. Anything to see the joy on their faces, he was willing and ready to do it.Sometime in the evening after having lunch with the kids, Max asked, “Okay, Dad. Why are you sulking? Don’t you like spending time with us?” Max inquired, dumping his fries on the plate and meeting his gaze.He turned away from the view of the buzzling locals outside the window, “Of course, I want to spend all the time I can get with you.” He spoke defensively. The two arched a brow, “Then, why are you sulking?” Max asked again.“I am not sulking.” He answered with a scowl on his face.Max and Fran leaned back at the same time, seemingly choreographed before concluding. “Sulking!”Killian let out a sigh.“Come on. Talk to us.” Fran spoke this time. She pushed her food away, grabbed the napkin to clean her hands and crossed her arms, expectantly.Max leaned back into his seat, waiting as we
“Stay in here and don’t leave the car, Penny.” John warned sternly, debating on whether he should turn back home because of the danger he might be putting his daughter in. Evelyn would have his head if she found out about it.She had warned him against it but didn’t listen to her. How could he? The only opportunity he had to save his dying wife, not taking it would mean losing her to that bastard disease that was eating her up from the inside. All he wanted to do was take his wife’s pain away. The society shouldn’t fault a man for the means he takes. In quiet strides, he went into the building with his hands tucked inside both his pockets. Occasionally, he would look behind him, straining his neck to check the car to see if anyone was near it.After some minutes, gunshot was heard, startling Penelope where she sat. her heart raced as she looked around, wondering where her father was.The kite was in her hold when she poked her head out of the window, looking into the darkness that ove
She looked down at their joined hands and looked back up at Killian. “One step at a time, remember?” She spoke and pulled her hand out of his. “The children are far more important right now.” She added and stood up from the couch. “Goodnight, Killian.” She whispered the last part.“Goodnight, Penelope.” He spoke in a low voice, feeling dejected at her rejection. Although, he half expected it but it didn’t lessen the ache he felt in his heart. He grabbed the comforter nearby and used it to cover himself after taking minimal clothing pieces off. That had been his bed for the past few days. The thought made him chuckle. How could a billionaire squeeze his length into a couch for days? Ms. Flores would have aneurysms if she ever saw him in that uncomfortable position. His bed was much more comfortable than the hard couch. He wondered why Penelope didn’t buy a more comfortable one when she easily could.Think of this as a means to an end, he tried to comfort himself internally.Just when h
