AERILYN’S POV

My eyes deceived me while I danced, which is strange because I didn't have a drink. I never have a drink, especially when someone around here buys it.

Nothing ever happened in this club, I've made sure of it before I signed my contract and it isn't against the rules that we accept a drink, but it is suggested we don't, for our safety.

I disappear behind the stage, and I run to the side, peeking at the crowd and I find the couch he sat on, my gaze narrowing on the empty space.

Was he here?

Did he see me?

Maybe it wasn't him, perhaps it was someone that just looks like him...

"Aerilyn, are you done for the night?" My boss comes over, her tall, skinny frame makes me feel small. I smile, nodding, "Here, your tips." I take the wad of cash and she leaves, but I stand frozen, a foreign feeling rumbling in my chest.
