I quickly grab the other backpack, swing it over my shoulder, and then follow him out the door. We walk across the clearing between the castle and the forest as soon as we enter the treeline, Phoenix takes off running. I follow, keeping pace with him, however; I know that he isn’t running at his full potential, as I wouldn’t be able to keep up with him if he did.
We run for what feels like a couple of hours before we stop at the first clearing. Phoenix then drops his backpack and then turns on me. I quickly dodge his attack, drop my pack and then, with his next attack, I defend and attack back. We go back and forth, back and forth with him, putting me on my arse more than I was on my feet.
