Chapter 3: Visions and Premonitions

I woke up early even though I slept late. My body has been used to waking up early. I went down and checked the surroundings, the air here is fresh and I like it. I went to the veranda on the second floor and I can see the distant farm and forest as well as the mountainous trail. I know for sure that there are different packs of werewolves in here because of the forest trails. 

I stretched out a bit and started to do a little exercise. I can hear Aspin barking wanting to come out of the room, I hope it didn't wake Hailey up. I went downstairs to check on Mom and see what's for breakfast. When I saw Nana Rosing in the kitchen, she greeted me while she prepared the food. And in the living room, Dad's there with his newspaper and coffee.

"Good Morning!" I greeted him and sat at the sofa next to him

"Good Morning! How was your first night here?" he asked

"It was good, so peaceful all I can hear is the chirping of the bugs at night unlike in the city. And the morning was so refreshing as well,"

"Why don't you go for a run with Halea later-on, she normally runs with Aspin and Rahul when he was still here,"

"Now, I'm getting more curious at this Rahul, I wish I could meet him,"

"Let's see, I hope he will be here tonight, its Halea's birthday after all,"

"I hope so," I said as I watched Mom coming from the garden door and greeted her as she walks towards our direction

She asked the same question as Dad and I gave her the same answer and informed her of my plan to run with Halea following Dad's suggestion.

I said my goodbye and went upstairs to change to my running attire and went back down to get some water. I heard some commotion upstairs so I presume that Halea is already awake, I checked myself in the mirror and grabbed my sneakers when Halea came with Aspin, she greeted me since it's our birthday.

"Happy birthday too!" I said and asked her, "Wanna go for a run?"

"Yeah, wait for me I'll just change," 

"Sure,"  I said and I watched her go upstairs

I walked outside to the garden when I felt my phone vibrate, I checked and there was a message from Juno.

"I will arrive before lunchtime today, I will go directly at the farmhouse. I would like to see you a bit and run you through with some of the details of our stay here in Vale," Juno's text message.

"Okay, I will be there after lunch. Make it quick as I need to be back for Hailey's birthday," I typed in

"Noted, I will call you once I arrive,"

"Thank you," I send back

Just as I finished my message I heard Hailey coming down the stairs so we ran. 

 I followed her track and she showed me around, we saw her school as well as the bay walk. We stop at the beach and stretch a bit and take a rest before we run back home for breakfast. I can see that Halea's in deep thought, it feels like something's bothering her. 

So I asked her, "Are you worried about tonight?"

"No, not really especially you're here,"

I informed her of my plan on leaving tomorrow since it's a full moon, I need to prepare for my first transformation. But of course, I told her that I just needed to meet-up with Juno. Halea expresses her intention of accompanying me and how it would be nice to stroll under the full moon night at the beach.

I laughed at the thought of me and the full moon and answered her, "Yeah, if you're not a werewolf changing during the full moon that would be nice," I cannot stop my giggling at the thought of it.

She absorbs my laugh and commented, "What an odd thing to say," 

So not to make it awkward I just said, "I know, I was just making a joke since you were so serious coming here,"

"I'm sorry, my mind was just occupied with something. Come on let's go back home and have some breakfast. We started running back until we reached home.

After breakfast, I went to the garden to help out for the preparation of Halea's party. And after lunch, I went to see Juno.

I went inside the newly purchased farmhouse, It was only then that I realized the paintings on the wall as well as the antique outdoor furniture. I went in and found Juno eating his lunch at the dining table.

 I signalled him that I will be just in my room so he can finish his lunch first. I've prepared my backpack to bring with me outside. I can leave it at the treehouse which was about 20 meters away from the house. I need to leave some of these clothing in case I need it once I transform with the farm ground.

Juno came in and started discussing our stay in Vale. He has allowed me to stay with Halea but needed to help him find my relatives. He showed me an old map and pointed out the neutral territories for humans which I need to memorize. This would help me not to get caught by another pack.

After the discussion, I went to the market to buy some party clothes since I didn't have one. Good thing that they have a boutique store for such which was not difficult to find. I grabbed some accessories and a basic make-up kit just for today's occasion.

I am planning to enjoy this day with Halea, at the end of it all it's still our birthday. After shopping, I went back to their house and showed her the things I have bought. She likes the accessories that I got. It's a good thing that I bought two of each item. We are all set-up for the night.

The party commenced early and the guest started to flood the garden. I know Halea's waiting for Rahul, I can sense her excitement to see him but after two hours of entertaining guests, he didn't come. I've met Caleb and his friends, Hailey introduced them to me. I cannot seem to remove my glance at Caleb, there's something in him that piques my interest. He has this strong aura, it feels warm and enchanting if you will ask me, while his friends Jason and Matthew seem to be adding up. I never once get attracted to the opposite sex but I would say Caleb was one of the few I would be interested in knowing.

After meeting Hailey's friend I retreated to the silent part of the house a little away from the crowd and watched the sky.

"It's been a while since I saw the sky like this," she held herself in an embrace. I wish this peacefulness could last.

And in the corner of the veranda, there's another figure humming. She went to see who it was.

"Hey, Amelia right?" Alina said

"Yeah, I am Amelia. What are you doing here?" she asked

"Oh, I'm trying to move away from the crowd and get some peace of mind," Alina said

"Me too. I'm just unwinding. It's so noisy back there. Come sit beside me," Amelia said tapping the empty seat.

Alina sat and rested her back at the chair next to Amelia. "It's so peaceful here, I hope it will always be like this,"

"I hope too," Amelia whispered, "So how long will you stay here?"

"I am not sure yet, aside from Halea I am here to find some relatives,"

"So your family is from Vale?"

"Yeah, great-great-grandfather is a native of Vale, he has a brother who used to rule here,"

"My family is a native of Vale, tell me which family you belong and I may be able to direct you in the right direction,"

"Oh, that's great. I am from the clan of Raja Damir Jera or my father used to say we are Thalon’s. I am not sure if that makes sense,"

"Raja Dahir, you mean?"

"Dahir is his older brother, my great-great-grandfather is Damir Jera,"

From a distance, another person came to view; "So, you're a Thalon of the north?" Caleb's voice echoed

"Yes, as my father used to describe,"

"Where is your father now?"

"He died!"

"As far as I know, there are no living survivor in the Thalon clan from the North,"

Alina was a little frightened, she knew that Caleb somehow knew her family.

 "But do you know who I am seeking?" Alina asked

"I can bring you to see my father, and he will have your answer" Caleb said

"Caleb's family is the direct descendant of Dahir, his father is the leader of our clan. We no longer use the titles as before since time has changed but he is still the leader by blood" Amelia said

Does that mean these two are like me? Alina's thought

"There's a ceremony tomorrow night if you are of the same bloodline as I am you know what the ceremony is about," Caleb gazing at Alina

"Tomorrow, can I see your father in the morning instead? I need to clarify some things first,"

"That can be arranged," Caleb said

Amelia stands up and asked the two to return to the party, "Guys, let go back at the party they must have been looking for us," she said

"Very well," Caleb said as he walked on the other side of Amelia while Alina on the other.

As they walk Amelia suddenly tripped off, making both Alina and Caleb hold her and from their touch, Amelia's eyes light's up as well as Caleb.

Alina was started when flashes of scenes appear in her vision. And after a few minutes, the light and the energy flowing between them died. Amelia suddenly fainted and Caleb carried her.

"What was that?" Alina asked

"It seems like, I will be needing your help," Caleb said

Alina was confused but she saw that Amelia fainted and now in Caleb's arm so she nodded and escorted them inside the house to the clinic of Halea's father. She then called to Halea's dad to check on Amelia.
