Chapter 42

Distressed, Caleb tried moving past the guards to go in to see Nazima, but they blocked his way. He was furious, the queen’s guards consisted of both the Naga’s and the Merpeople.

She wanted to unite her people not separate them and that started with her having guards from both clans. Caleb sent a glare the guard’s way, but they were not moved.

After witnessing what the queen can do, they were more scared of the queen than they were of Caleb. “I believe you all know who I am, now let me in or face punishment.” The guard’s felts wronged.

How could Caleb want to punish them for doing their jobs? It was the queen who said she didn’t want to see him, it had nothing to do with them. “General, we are only following the queen’s orders.” The merguard explained to his general.

He knew how Caleb was and he did not want to face his rath when the time comes. It was better to explain now than keep quiet and wait for his punishment. Caleb also knew that they were following orders, but he could not
