Chapter 6

Jennita’s pov

Seated on the passengers’ seat, I stared out the car window; trying to contain the rippling anger that surged inside of me. Yet, Tasha continued to whimper. She knew how badly he had hurt us, how long it’s been since we’ve last seen, but she could still sense him, recognise his scent.

But unlike her, I was anything but ecstatic to see him, and my encounter with him just made me realize how much of an arrogant brute he was. Those eyes were still as daunting and cold as ever. He would be attending the meeting as well, I knew I was going to have to face him one way or the other, but I didn’t plan out our encounter a few minutes ago.

My jaw clenched and I looked away, towards Louis. We were the only ones in the car amongst the convoy.

“Jamal can’t know about this.” I quietly said, although I was sure he knew what I meant.
