A few other wolves were leaning up against the side of the building when I was closing in on it. Their heads snapped over to my direction as I started to pass them, their eyes flashing yellow, and their grins growing wolfishly sharp as I passed. I crinkled my nose as I took a quick sniff of them and frowned. They smelt of human booze and something smoky but behind that was their dominant odor; which wasn’t that impressive compared to Six’s but then again I didn’t imagine a lot of people’s were . I shrugged my shoulder in reply and started to walk over to them. Our goal was to create a pack so I suppose I shouldn’t be that picking.

Six growled low behind me putting a slight hitch in my step.

“Not them. Their ferals.”

Without even questioning him I turned my attention back on the large wooden bar doors. I had no clue as to what kind of wood they were made from. I suppose it didn’t really matter, I thought right before I kicked them in. The bulky doors swung open with a bang from my kic

The silver light in her eyes sparkled with the intensity of a small dagger. I suppressed the urge to flinch under gaze and did what Six had instructed me to do…be his Alpha. With as much grace as I could muster I tilted my chin to the side and gave her a simple cheerful smile. That earned a snarl from her which made Six growl in reply.I took a steady step closer with my hand raised slightly in Six’s direction. “Don’t be so dramatic, Six.” His growl slowly faded away and he glanced over in my direction.I could see the uncertainty and worry that filled his eyes but chose to ignore it. I wasn’t actually Six’s Alpha and we both knew it. He had only said that I was so that he could protect me…although if he wanted to protect me he could have just told this blonde bimbo that I was his mate. Just thinking about the word had my heart racing in my chest and heat rising towards my face. I bit the inside of my cheek to help distract my mind from the word. If he had called me his mate I might

Six’s smile broadened as he stepped in front of me. “You heard me. We want your clan February and you’re going to step down from your position as their Alpha without a fight, got it?”She let out another ear screaming roar before she lunged for Six. He didn’t even attempt to dodge her attack, instead he waited until her sharp claws were close and then grabbed ahold of both of her hands. She hissed and squirmed beside him, trying to get her wrist out of his grip. Her cold steel gaze found me out behind him and she hissed again. “You bitch! Do you have any idea who you’re screwing with? When I get my hands on you I’ll rip your throat out with my teeth and bathe in your entrails!”Six spun her around and pressed her face first into one of the wooden tables. The glasses on it fell onto the floor and shattered into a hundred sharp pieces. Six glowered down at the possessed woman with bared teeth. “You’re not going to land a hand on her.”“The hell I’m not! She’s challenging my position a

For the rest of the night I was continuously looking over my shoulder at February, knowing that her threat was not to be taken lightly. The deadly blonde, if given the opportunity, would kill me in a heartbeat. Even though I was petrified of the woman I could understand her hatred towards me. If I had fought the woman over the leadership of the pack and won then she probably wouldn’t have it out for me, but since Six had just unfairly come in and claimed me their leader she now felt jibed.I watched February carefully as she poured another draft beer, her blonde curls bounced gracefully with her every movement, and her warm laugh carried across the bar. When she turned to drop off the drink she caught my stare. Her smile grew into what appeared to be genuine but the malice and rage in her eyes gave her away. I sneered at the woman to keep up my dominant front but on the inside I was shaking with fear. If I’m already trembling with February, what much more of Lunar and Sabrina? I look

The chair screeched out from under him as Six stood up. I watched him curiously as he pulled out a brown pocket and then dropped a few scraps of green paper down on the table. Before he could pull me away from the table I leaned over and looked at the papers. They had these really weird designs of them and a face in the middle of the circle. I moved forwards a little bit more and sniffed the paper. Automatically after that I jerked my head back and covered my delicate nose.“What is that?” I questioned halfheartedly. He reached down and grabbed ahold of my wrist then tugged me up out of the chair. “It’s money.”I glared back at the paper with disgust. “It smells nasty.”“That’s because it has been in a lot of different places.”I could feel his warm hard hand slide down towards mine and without even thinking about it I laced our fingers together. His frown deepened slightly when he looked down at our joined hands. Instinctively I lowered my chin down towards my chest but tightened

Six crossed his arms over his chest and shrugged his shoulders in reply. She sighed dramatically before turning her attention back on me and smiling. “Well that’s my husband for you.”“Your husband?”The woman's expression turned into one of surprise before she smacked her palm against her forehead. “Oh geez where are my manners? My name is Maryan Angelie but my friends call me Mary, I’m Red’s wife.”I jerked back from her in surprise. The woman frowned at my reaction and took a hesitant step forward but stopped when I shook my head at her. “But Red’s a human.” She cocked her head to the side and stared at me with a question expression. “and you’re a wolf.”“Oh not this crap again.” Maryan’s smile returned before she rolled her eyes at me while laughing. “Res is my chosen mate and before you ask, yes werewolves especially rogues can mate with humans and no, he doesn’t know that werewolves exist.” She pursed her long delicate arms onto her hips as the mind blowing information she ha

By the time we left Fang’s bar and grill it was close to midnight. The streets of the busy city were nearly empty leaving the place to look somewhat abandoned with quiet alleyways and paper ridden floors. The night had turned into its regular chilling atmosphere but with a little more bit to the night breeze than normal. The cold had my bare skin puckering with bumps but I didn’t really feel it since I was still thinking about Maryan. Was it really such a good idea to leave a woman alone in a bar in the state she was in? I was still fairly new to the human world and what not but it just went against my fur as a beast to leave her in there like that.“If it will make you stop worrying, I’ll ask Red to bring her over to my place tomorrow before we go to work. You can see for yourself that she is fine and you can hang out with her while I’m gone.” His voice rumbled in the cool night air.I stared blankly down at the grayish cracked sidewalk. “What do you mean by work?”Six didn’t even

A chill ran up the length of my spin and along the skin on my body at the sound of his name. My hands spread out across my bare arms and started to rub the frozen skin. How was it that just by hearing his name I felt scared all over again? Was it because I knew that he was going to take my life or just because his cold black eyes were filled with so much pent up rage? It is like seeing someone under Lunar’s power.I jumped when Six’s big warm hand touched my chin. He stared into my scared wide eyes for a moment as if he was silently debating on whether or not I had shivered because I was cold or scared. As he thought about it his calloused thumb rubbed mindlessly from my chin to my lower lip. I shivered again only this time it wasn’t because I was cold or scared but because of the warm tingling sensation that he awakened underneath my skin with his soft caresses. I whined slowly before nuzzling my head into his hand until he was cupping it. His warm hard fingers spread against my cool

I could feel the vibrations from Six’s growl through my fingertips since they were lying carelessly on top of his chest. His sudden flash of anger didn’t faze me though and I even went so far as to tuck my head back under his chin while the warm rumbles continued. Six’s arm, that was lazily holding me against him, tightened until my chest was pressed up against his side. My heart rate spiked at the feel of his hard warm side pressing into me, making me purr quietly with both pleasure and adoration.“I thought we were done discussing this Ayah.” His rough voice held a hint of aggravation to it.Six had told me earlier that he had to get up early in the morning to go to work with Red and I assumed that meant that he wanted this conversation to stop so that he could get some rest, but the question had been nagging me ever since February had thrown herself against him.I felt myself sigh against his thick neck and slowly let my eyes flutter open. “No, you neglected to answer me the first

I couldn’t see any emotions in his eyes, it was like I was staring straight into an endless void, emotionless. And then it happened. Axel back slapped me out of nowhere. I felt like my brain was shaken and an extreme pain came later. My eyes watered as I looked at him. “Does it hurt?” he smiled in a sickening voice. “Of course it was,” he added and grabbed my hair, pulling my hair closer to him. “That damn pain wasn’t even closer to what I had felt from your betrayal and letting him mark you.”My life flashed before me over the next few days. Axel wasn’t just angr, he was so furious, unable to accept my betrayal. He told me I deserved to rot under his castle until the last day of my life. “Hmm,” I heard a voice. “She’s in a state that my client wouldn’t like it, Luis,” I heard a voice. It was a male. I couldn’t see him because I was blindfolded. I sniffed him but he didn’t smell like a wolf. The scent was-“Stop sniffing, girl,” I heard the voice said, annoyed. “We were all wearing some perfume to mask our scent so stop doing it. It’s annoying.”And then I heard a laugh. “Oh, don’t mind her, Jim. Let’s just get down to business,” I heard Luis. “Alright. Three million dollars for her as we agreed upon.”“Yep,” Luis said.”“My client has deposited the exact amount now and I’m taking the merchandise to him. Kindly fill up this agreement to avoid unseen problem in the future,” “Alright.”I heard some scratching of pens. “There you go,” Luis said and probably looked at Brian who was holding me. “Take her to our client’s car.”Brian started to guide me. I tried to fight but he was too strong for me given he was an Alpha bloodline. “Don’t make this hard enough, Kayah. Ju

“Oh, you’ve been a bad bad girl, Kayah,” Luis smirked and then he signaled the three men to show me what would happen if I disobeyed him again. My bruised body now slumped, shackled to a chair. After they caught me trying to escape, the trio of men beat me senseless and tossed me into this room to waste away. I could still feel the sting of Brian’s fist smashing into my cheek and the blow of Luis’ boot driving into my gut. Clumps of brown hair had been ripped from my aching scalp, Bob was responsible for that. These men, these tormentors, did far worse than just hurt me. They claimed it was to teach me obedience. To crush my spirit. And they nearly did.“What happened to fresh, not scratched and in a good condition, Boss?” Nate asked when he entered the room again. “She’s a wolf. She can heal,” Luis rolled his eyes. “You really hate this woman a lot?” Nate asked. “Not her but her damn mate,” Luis replied. “Is it also tied to her?” “Whatever their problems were, I’m out of it. The man with tousled brown hair and piercing forest-green eyes spoke from across the room. Though he didn’t raise his voice, his imposing presence made it feel like he was right beside me, shouting.“What did I say about talking back?” he growled, beginning to close the distance between us. Before he could get far, the second man extended an arm, halting him with a sharp, warning glance. He muttered something too quiet to catch, then slowly started toward me instead. His long black hair framed a pale, severe face, and his deep blue eyes locked onto mine with unsettling calm.“I suggest you listen to him, Kayah.” I winced hearing my name leave his lips. “You should understand something, we’ve planned this carefully. Your little help is gone, and no one will help you, let alone save you from your impending doom. No one’s coming for you. Which makes this very convenient for us. She told us that no one will care enough to look at you.”Now kneeling in front of me, he leaned in, grabbed m

As soon as the scream escaped my lips I knew that all hope was lost. “I heard her! This way!” With no other choice I stood up and ran out of the horrible room and I didn’t stop to look where I was going. I only looked up long enough to see the front door I had come through a foot away when strong and rough arms snatched my waist. I screamed once again as the arms took me away from my escape and hauled me to the room at the end of the hall. I fought and kicked with all my strength, grabbing and clawing whatever I could get my hands on. With each futile attempt the arms only grew tighter around me. A door was opened and I was shoved into the room I once heard the voices arguing from. With a gasp I took in the gruesome and horrifying scene in front of me.I landed head first after being thrown into the room. I gawked at the scene of terrors that lay in front of me. In front of me was a still and lifeless body. The last of the body's blood puddled around the girl as it leaked from the m

I woke up and felt everything was odd. The room was unusually quiet, so eerie.“Rache?” I called her name but no one was answering. Where the hell is she? I asked myself. I got up, made myself a coffee when I stopped my mug mid-air. Amidst the scent of coffee hitting my nose, I smell something but a scent. It was so strong that it actually overpowered the coffee’s scent. It was them. Damn it. “Rachel!” I screamed but no one answered. I didn't wait for her to answer. I grabbed my phone and ran through the door, looking for a fire exit. Even if the scent was still a mile away, I knew they would eventually catch up with me. So I better run and call Rachel when I think I’m safe. My lungs ached with the force I was putting on them. I never really ran. I wasn't out of shape, but I definitely wasn't athletic. Okay, I’m used to running, but not as urgent as this. I ran when I needed to chase a prey but not the other way around. The closer I drew to my destination the more I couldn't hel

Defeated, I started the journey back to our apartment. I knew she would show up eventually, just like every other time she left.Letting my mind wander, I turned the corners while walking back to our rented house. I passed street sign after street sign, worn down building after worn down building. The town was old and dusty to say the least. As I walked, I planned out what I would do for the rest of the day. The only thing that kept me going now was that I had to find my son and take him back with me. Time seemed to fly while I thought about the reason why I was away from my pack and to Seven, and after about twenty minutes of breathing in smoke and dirt-filled air, I arrived at the door to the apartment building. The apartment buildings we lived in strongly represented a motel and were the cheapest housing options around. I didn't particularly like it, but it was all we needed so no one would suspect me.Sighing, I walked up the concrete steps and opened the wooden door, only to rev

My pack has decided to end everything and take back what they used to own, their dignity, they castle. Seven his real reclaimed the name and that the Moon Goddess has crossed the line. “I know it’ll be dangerous, but this is for our son. I want him and neither would I give you to her,” I said when I’m done telling him Hailey was actually Lunar and that she tricked him. Seven was speechless when he heard it but it didn’t change the fact that she has our child. Seven took the alpha position and talked to the pack mate, the rogues who had been in the human settlement howl, ready to reclaim the throne and their home. “Are you sure about this Red?” I asked her to utter a spell, a spell that would prevent Lunar from tricking Seven again. Now that Red has become apparent, he told us he was actually ex-deity and used to side with Lunar back then. He admitted Lunar was delusional and told us about her tale, about her falling in love with Fenrir only to break her heart in the process. He

Only me.“Bitch,” I said and she just laughed. “You couldn’t have that’s you took me son?”No answer.I heard a chuckle like the bitch was amused. “You so Hailey,” Lunar said. “I don’t care about whatever image you took,” I said. “Seven and I had a history.”I swallowed hard. “Maybe it’s time for you to tell him about her.”“Shut up!” I screamed. “Ayah,” Six whispered. “Let's go back.”We returned to Maryan’s.Red was still breathing.
