A chill ran up the length of my spin and along the skin on my body at the sound of his name. My hands spread out across my bare arms and started to rub the frozen skin. How was it that just by hearing his name I felt scared all over again? Was it because I knew that he was going to take my life or just because his cold black eyes were filled with so much pent up rage? It is like seeing someone under Lunar’s power.

I jumped when Six’s big warm hand touched my chin. He stared into my scared wide eyes for a moment as if he was silently debating on whether or not I had shivered because I was cold or scared. As he thought about it his calloused thumb rubbed mindlessly from my chin to my lower lip. I shivered again only this time it wasn’t because I was cold or scared but because of the warm tingling sensation that he awakened underneath my skin with his soft caresses. I whined slowly before nuzzling my head into his hand until he was cupping it. His warm hard fingers spread against my cool

I could feel the vibrations from Six’s growl through my fingertips since they were lying carelessly on top of his chest. His sudden flash of anger didn’t faze me though and I even went so far as to tuck my head back under his chin while the warm rumbles continued. Six’s arm, that was lazily holding me against him, tightened until my chest was pressed up against his side. My heart rate spiked at the feel of his hard warm side pressing into me, making me purr quietly with both pleasure and adoration.“I thought we were done discussing this Ayah.” His rough voice held a hint of aggravation to it.Six had told me earlier that he had to get up early in the morning to go to work with Red and I assumed that meant that he wanted this conversation to stop so that he could get some rest, but the question had been nagging me ever since February had thrown herself against him.I felt myself sigh against his thick neck and slowly let my eyes flutter open. “No, you neglected to answer me the first

When I woke up the next morning I was alone in his bed. I instantly shot up and looked around for any sign of Six but judging by how cold his side of the bed was I knew that he was long gone. The sheets on his side of the bed were still tangled from when he had gotten out of it and his pillow was carefully pressed against my side so that I wouldn’t notice his absence while asleep. Remembering what had happened the last time I had woken up like this I quickly scrambled out of my bed with my stomach growling. What kind of food would Six have prepared for me today? I wondered curiously, Maybe more of those sausages or eggs.My jump onto the floor was quieted by the carpet and I couldn’t help but smile at that. With predatory instinct pumping through my veins I stalked over to the door and slowly whisked it open so that I could take in the smell of Six’s freshly cooked meal. When I opened the door however and eagerly sniffed the air I was met with no sort of fabulous flavors and instead I

Six stepped out from behind me and grabbed a jacket that was hanging on the kitchen table. “If you’re done screwing around now Red, we’d better get going.”Red let out a childish groan before sobering up and planting an endearing kiss on Maryan’s forehead. “I’ll see you later babe.”She bobbed her head slowly in a nod then watched him lovingly as he walked out of the room with Six on his heels. Six turned back around in the frame of the apartment door and looked directly back at me. His blue eyes held my attention so completely that I almost forgot how to breathe. Then without saying a single word he shut the door behind him.I felt a little heartbroken that he hadn’t left me with any endearing words but then I realized that he probably had none to give. I turned my attention over to Maryan who was still staring at the door that her husband had just walked through. Her woodsy brown eyes were filled with such longing that it almost broke my own heart. How wonderful it must be to be m

Inhaling a deep shaky breath actually helped to calm my frayed nerves. When I looked back at her I tried to play it off as if everything was fine. “Yeah, I’m good.”She watched me wearily for a moment, trying to figure out whether or not I was telling her the truth. Feeling slightly uncomfortable over her bluntly staring at me I restlessly fidgeted in my chair. Her eyes narrowed at my movement as if they were a sign that I was lying.“Something has freaked out Ayah, I know it.” Her voice had lost its gentle tone and turned into something that I imagined a mother would have. Not wanting to share the fact that I had just realized that Six and I were mates I got up from my chair and hurried over to the living room. It’s not that I didn’t really want to talk to her about it it’s just that I felt as if I might say something wrong like; Yeah, Six and I are mates King and Queen but I only now just found out about it even though we’ve been living together for three days now, or maybe I would

I could feel my chest tighten and eyes bulge at the sound of the name. Kayah. I wanted to reveal myself but I couldn’t. I thought if my facade would be exposed, Seven or Six would kill me. He was famous for killing without listening to any reasons. I really wanted to know about what happened after I left and why Seven was looking for me. “So about Hailey or Kayah…” I started but already Maryan was shaking her head.“I’m not talking to you about her until you tell me what happened with Luis.”Seeing no harm in telling her about how I had come to meet Luis I continued.“I met him the same night that Six brought me back to this apartment for the first time. Luis tried to…he tried to kill me and until recently I didn’t know why.”“Because you are Six’s mate?” She guessed.I nodded my head shyly at first. “Yes I believe so. Six scared him off that night but Luis said something along the lines of ‘I will kill her and only then will we be even’. Of course I have no idea what any of that c

I was already buried underneath the covers when Six finally walked in. His foot falls were quieted by the carpeted floor making it almost impossible to hear. Faintly I heard him sigh before he opened up a draw and pulled something out. I could hear the slight movements that the fabric made as he dressed himself and automatically knew that he was putting on a pair of pants.A slight heat rose to my cheeks at the thought of him walking into the room naked. Of course being a wolf myself nudity didn’t normally merit this kind of reaction from me especially since I had seen him once before. But it was dark out and you were too busy swooning over his green eyes.I tried my best to pretend that I was still sleeping but when I felt the bed dip because of his weight I almost blew my cover by flinching. Six eased the covers on the bed up before sliding in completely. His warm damp skin rubbed against mine as positioned himself more comfortably near me. He continued to fidget on the bed until so

After restlessly tossing and turning in the bed for most of the night I finally got fed up and judging by the constant streaming of curses coming from the living room I could tell that Six was just as mad. Without putting too much thought into it I grabbed the remaining pillow off of the bed and made my way over to the door. I didn’t even try to be stealthy or anonymous as I swung the door open and marched over to the couch where my mate was lying. His head shot up at the sound of me coming near him and instantly he started growling. Before he could growl out any unwanted words at me I pulled back my arm that was holding the pillow and threw it right at his face. Since my attack was completely unexpected Six didn’t even think to bring his arm up to block it and it hit its mark head on.“If you would have told me the reason why I wasn’t allowed to kiss you then I wouldn’t have done it and we wouldn’t have had to go through this big fuss.” Because I was sleep deprived my words came out

“Shut up. I don’t need your pity Ayah, I really don’t.” He took another swipe at me with his pillow but misjudged the distance and missed me. “When Luis realized that he wasn’t being satisfied with my beatings he let me go. At first I thought he had let me go because he remembered that I had been his friend. It wasn’t until I started dating again that I realized just how wrong I was.”I cocked an eyebrow at him. “You started dating?”He growled. “Of course I started dating. I’m a rogue, I was alone, and I had no place to go. I met this one human at the bar and we ended up dating for three months until Luis found us out and killed her. That’s when I knew that he would never leave me alone. After a while I thought that it would be best to just run away but then I ended up finding you. In the middle of nowhere mind you with some black wolf stalking you in the nearby brushes.”Gradually while he was talking his raised voice had lowered until it was almost down to its normal tone. “I don

“Oh, you’ve been a bad bad girl, Kayah,” Luis smirked and then he signaled the three men to show me what would happen if I disobeyed him again. My bruised body now slumped, shackled to a chair. After they caught me trying to escape, the trio of men beat me senseless and tossed me into this room to waste away. I could still feel the sting of Brian’s fist smashing into my cheek and the blow of Luis’ boot driving into my gut. Clumps of brown hair had been ripped from my aching scalp, Bob was responsible for that. These men, these tormentors, did far worse than just hurt me. They claimed it was to teach me obedience. To crush my spirit. And they nearly did.“What happened to fresh, not scratched and in a good condition, Boss?” Nate asked when he entered the room again. “She’s a wolf. She can heal,” Luis rolled his eyes. “You really hate this woman a lot?” Nate asked. “Not her but her damn mate,” Luis replied. “Is it also tied to her?” “Whatever their problems were, I’m out of it. The man with tousled brown hair and piercing forest-green eyes spoke from across the room. Though he didn’t raise his voice, his imposing presence made it feel like he was right beside me, shouting.“What did I say about talking back?” he growled, beginning to close the distance between us. Before he could get far, the second man extended an arm, halting him with a sharp, warning glance. He muttered something too quiet to catch, then slowly started toward me instead. His long black hair framed a pale, severe face, and his deep blue eyes locked onto mine with unsettling calm.“I suggest you listen to him, Kayah.” I winced hearing my name leave his lips. “You should understand something, we’ve planned this carefully. Your little help is gone, and no one will help you, let alone save you from your impending doom. No one’s coming for you. Which makes this very convenient for us. She told us that no one will care enough to look at you.”Now kneeling in front of me, he leaned in, grabbed m

As soon as the scream escaped my lips I knew that all hope was lost. “I heard her! This way!” With no other choice I stood up and ran out of the horrible room and I didn’t stop to look where I was going. I only looked up long enough to see the front door I had come through a foot away when strong and rough arms snatched my waist. I screamed once again as the arms took me away from my escape and hauled me to the room at the end of the hall. I fought and kicked with all my strength, grabbing and clawing whatever I could get my hands on. With each futile attempt the arms only grew tighter around me. A door was opened and I was shoved into the room I once heard the voices arguing from. With a gasp I took in the gruesome and horrifying scene in front of me.I landed head first after being thrown into the room. I gawked at the scene of terrors that lay in front of me. In front of me was a still and lifeless body. The last of the body's blood puddled around the girl as it leaked from the m

I woke up and felt everything was odd. The room was unusually quiet, so eerie.“Rache?” I called her name but no one was answering. Where the hell is she? I asked myself. I got up, made myself a coffee when I stopped my mug mid-air. Amidst the scent of coffee hitting my nose, I smell something but a scent. It was so strong that it actually overpowered the coffee’s scent. It was them. Damn it. “Rachel!” I screamed but no one answered. I didn't wait for her to answer. I grabbed my phone and ran through the door, looking for a fire exit. Even if the scent was still a mile away, I knew they would eventually catch up with me. So I better run and call Rachel when I think I’m safe. My lungs ached with the force I was putting on them. I never really ran. I wasn't out of shape, but I definitely wasn't athletic. Okay, I’m used to running, but not as urgent as this. I ran when I needed to chase a prey but not the other way around. The closer I drew to my destination the more I couldn't hel

Defeated, I started the journey back to our apartment. I knew she would show up eventually, just like every other time she left.Letting my mind wander, I turned the corners while walking back to our rented house. I passed street sign after street sign, worn down building after worn down building. The town was old and dusty to say the least. As I walked, I planned out what I would do for the rest of the day. The only thing that kept me going now was that I had to find my son and take him back with me. Time seemed to fly while I thought about the reason why I was away from my pack and to Seven, and after about twenty minutes of breathing in smoke and dirt-filled air, I arrived at the door to the apartment building. The apartment buildings we lived in strongly represented a motel and were the cheapest housing options around. I didn't particularly like it, but it was all we needed so no one would suspect me.Sighing, I walked up the concrete steps and opened the wooden door, only to rev

My pack has decided to end everything and take back what they used to own, their dignity, they castle. Seven his real reclaimed the name and that the Moon Goddess has crossed the line. “I know it’ll be dangerous, but this is for our son. I want him and neither would I give you to her,” I said when I’m done telling him Hailey was actually Lunar and that she tricked him. Seven was speechless when he heard it but it didn’t change the fact that she has our child. Seven took the alpha position and talked to the pack mate, the rogues who had been in the human settlement howl, ready to reclaim the throne and their home. “Are you sure about this Red?” I asked her to utter a spell, a spell that would prevent Lunar from tricking Seven again. Now that Red has become apparent, he told us he was actually ex-deity and used to side with Lunar back then. He admitted Lunar was delusional and told us about her tale, about her falling in love with Fenrir only to break her heart in the process. He

“Babe listen we-”“Kellan!’ I screamed.I searched the area. Nothing. No more scent trail. No sounds. Just that burning circle and silence.“Kellan!” I shouted again into the night. My voice echoed, bouncing back empty.I fell to my knees. My baby was gone. And not even the wind could tell me where.I pressed my hand to the grass where he’d been taken. It was still warm.My fingers tingle..Then, I heard something.A whisper. Soft. Like a breeze.“Kayah…”I looked up. The trees shifted slightly. Then it stopped.Six didn’t hear it. Only me.“Bitch,” I said and she just laughed. “You couldn’t have that’s you took me son?”No answer.I heard a chuckle like the bitch was amused. “You so Hailey,” Lunar said. “I don’t care about whatever image you took,” I said. “Seven and I had a history.”I swallowed hard. “Maybe it’s time for you to tell him about her.”“Shut up!” I screamed. “Ayah,” Six whispered. “Let's go back.”We returned to Maryan’s.Red was still breathing. Hurry.”I didn’t waste a second.“Six! Get up!” I shouted, already pulling on pants and boots. He groaned. “Wh—what?”“They took our son.”That woke him up.He didn’t ask anything else. He was up, dressed, and running after me into the night. We drove to Maryan’s house. We needed to stay calm. Think. But I could feel the wolf under my skin. Angry. Pacing. With a moan I moved my long hair to the side, exposing my neck to my mate and pressed my bottom firmly against him. He didn’t keep me waiting. There was a loud roar of approval before his teeth sank deep into the spot where shoulder meets neck, and his cock penetrated my tight entrance.I cried out from the sharp pain and my arms gave out in front of me. Six didn’t loosen his bit on my neck as he followed me down to the bed. My legs would have given out too if it hadn’t been for his claws latching onto my hips and keeping me in place. I let out another scream of pain as he dug his teeth deeper into my skin, making sure that the Mark was deep enough to scar.I could feel the blood dripping down my neck and it was just as warm as my tears on my cheeks. The pain in that moment was great, so great that it drowned out any pleasure I had been feeling until I was shaking from pain. It felt like an eternity had passed until Six finally peeled his sharp fangs out of my skin. His rough warm ton
