Kayah’s Point of View

Six’a roar had become so loud that the other werewolves Luis had brought along were jarred awake. Each one of them winced and moaned as they picked themselves up off of the ground…all but one. I looked over at him carefully. There was no blood gathered around him or even any bruises. I gasped beside Six at the realization. The awkward position of his neck, the silent heartbeat, and how his back wasn’t rising and falling with each breath should have been a huge give away.

When did that happen?

My brain was scrambling to form an answer when I remembered. It happened right after Six had called out my name. The deadly snap of this man’s neck had been almost silent against my own racing heartbeat and thundering blood. Guilt swelled inside of my chest. Even though the man had been fighting on Luis’ side I still felt horrible for not noticing his death until now.

The other were’s however did not feel the same way. One of the less beat up ones pick up the dead body and

Kayah’s Point of ViewOne of Six’s dark eyebrows shot up and he cocked his head slightly to the side. “For the ice pack? Don’t worry about it.”Although I was grateful for the relief the ice pack had given me that wasn’t what I was thanking him for. I shook my head from side to side. “Well yes thanks for that too but I’m also grateful that you saved me from…from Luis.”The memory of the man was still too fresh in my mind. The skin in which he had touched felt violated and cold, making me shiver. When Luis had me pinned to the wall, I was left completely unguarded and if Six hadn’t intervened when he had I would have been killed. So this time when I looked up into his ocean blue eyes I was silently thanking him again for saving my life.He simply nodded his head, accepting my gratitude without question. “You probably have a lot of questions about how he and I know each other.”No, I don’t. I already knew the way back in your castle. He had said it more like a statement than a quest

He had used that tone of voice on Luis when he was yelling but never had he used it on me. I could already feel a whimper working its way up through my throat so I turned my head away in an attempt to keep it at bay.“Allie…” I could feel the tips of Six’s fingers scrapped against the side of my cheek and the whimper I had been holding back escaped. Instantly, he jerked his hand away and started muttering something nasty before he rumbled out a sigh. “You know what you’ve been through a lot today and I’m sure that yelling is the last thing you need. We’ll talk tomorrow after we’re both gotten some rest.” He walked over to the other couch pulling off the blanket and tossing it to me. “You can sleep on the couch tonight. If you need me I’ll be in that room.” He pointed to the first door in the hallway. It had been the same door that he had gone into when we had first entered the apartment. Then without so much as a glance back to me or anything else he left slamming his door behind him

Kayah’s Point of ViewCold. My eyes blinked open groggily to stare at the vacant half of the bed. For a moment I just looked at the empty pillow beside me as if someone was magically going to appear there. I yawned loudly before rubbing my cheek deeper into the pillow and then frowned. Something was off about this pillow. I raised myself up onto my elbows and looked back at it. The pillow looked no different than the one beside it but when I laid my head back down on it again it still felt wrong. The pillow I remembered falling asleep on was firmer than this one and definitely warmer. I inhaled the scent of it before pulling away from it again. The scent was off too, it was supposed to smell more like pinecones and earth….like Six.I jerked up into a sitting position, quickly becoming alert after sniffing and surveying the entire room. Where’s Six? I wondered when my search had come up dry. Instinctively I reached out an arm and felt the empty side of the bed; it was cold, telling me

“Stupid. That’s egg and sausage. We have only been in the wild for almost a year and you forget all the food you once cooked?” My wolf scolded me for being an idiot.“Eh, shut up. Let me just play the innocent wolf, okay?”My wolf rolled her eyes before shutting her down. Deciding to play innocent and ignorant, I looked up to see Six stab one of the meat links before shoving it into his mouth and then stabbing another one. I stared sadly back down at my own plate when I realized that I would have to wait to eat it. It was an animal custom that went back far before any of us could remember. Where there had been a shortage of food and the weaker animals would have to wait to eat from the kill until after the stronger one had gotten their fill. “You know Allie, I woke up early this morning to make breakfast.” I looked up at him to see him glaring at me with a piece of the weird square thing near his mouth. “I had no food in the fridge so I had to go out into the pouring rain and walk al

Kayah’s point of viewThose beautiful blue eyes had streams of gold shimmering through them as they waited patiently for my reaction. At first all I could do was stare back into those breathtaking orbs and wait for my brain to start back up. Did he really mean what he said? Did he want to start a pack with me? I knew he was a rogue and rogue don’t have a pack and never will live in a pack. What’s happening? But still the idea of having a pack and asking me to build a pack was something made me happy. This warm rush spread through my chest making my stomach flutter and my blood race. I placed my hand over my chest to try to calm my racing heart. Before I could mumble out a single word anger flashed in his blue eyes. His hand quickly dropped from my face and his expression morphed into something fearsome. The streams of gold in his eyes vanished into a darkening sea and hidden behind them I could see the rage boiling up. He pushed out his chest and squared his large shoulders before tur

.Kayah’s Point of viewI couldn’t help but shiver when Six ran his finger up the length of my neck and notched my chin up a little higher. The anger inside of me vanished as soon as my eyes connected with his. As if that had been some kind of sign for him, he slowly lowered his face down to mine. Already I could feel my heart racing inside of my chest and feel the blood pounding in my ears when he parted his lips slowly. His hot warm caressed my lower lips as he inched in even closer and then he growled.Suddenly he was pulling away from me with a deep frown set on his face. He turned his gaze towards the door and glared over at it. My body felt the loss of his heat, and I couldn’t help but shudder at the sudden chill I felt replacing it. Even though I had no clue what had just happened I still couldn’t take my eyes off of him. The way he was mumbling something under his breath and how he stomped over to the door made him seem absolutely breathtaking. Before the knock could even sound

I looked up into his friendly brown eyes wearily before giving him a small smile. “I like Ayah.”Mockingly he copied my smile and even tilted his head. I could feel my hackles rise at that and before I could stop myself I growled at him.“If you call me anything else I’ll shave the middle of your head.”Truthfully I had no clue what ‘shaving’ was but I knew it had something to do with hair and by the surprised look he was giving me I guess I was right. Red spun back around on the heels of his feet to face Six. Smile on his lips. “Hmmm?” Six asked“Six, I’m sensing something in your girlfriend!” he yelled with his arms in the airAgain with the girlfriend term! I’his wife! His queen! Well, runaway queen!Red spun back around so that he could grab hold of my hand and drag me over to the couch. He sat in-between me and Six and I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed at that.“So,” Red placed his arm behind my shoulders. “How long have you two been together?”I looked down at Six’

Kayah’s Point of viewSix’s warm breath tickled my stomach when he let out a long sigh. For a moment I thought he was going to answer my question so I shut my mouth and watched him intently. A muscle in his jaw twitched right before he closed his eyes and nuzzled his cold nose near my navel. I shuddered at the feeling of him getting comfortable while my stomach did little flickering flips. Slowly his breathing became more even against my skin and I knew that he was trying to play it off that he was asleep. Tentatively I skimmed the surface of his face with the back of my figures until they were nestled into his dark hair. I tugged on the locks forcefully and was greeted with a low growl.“I wouldn’t do that again if I was you.” He warned before cracking open one of his eyes to glare at me.I smiled innocently down at him as I twirled a few strands of his hair between my fingers. “I wouldn’t avoid answering my question next time then.”A deep growl escaped from his lips as he lifted h

I woke up to sunlight shining in my face, and the sound of a girl screaming. The sound was excruciatingly loud and sent chills up my spine. Above the screaming, I could hear Axel’s voice shouting. I couldn't make out the words, but he sounded furious and excited. The screaming continued for about another minute, until it slowly died down. The entire time this was happening, I sat cowering in the corner of my room, fearing I would be next to be screaming like that. But I made my decisions…to play safe..After what seemed like an eternity, I heard a door slam and footsteps coming my way. I cringed back in fear and huddled against the wall. The freshly stitched wounds on my chest reminded me of Axel’s brutality, and I didn't want to see what he was like when he was mad. My door was pushed open to reveal-of course- an infuriated Axel. He looked at my small frame huddled in the corner farthest from him, and smiled. I felt no comfort from his expression, only more fear. He stepped forward

I kept my head down and watched his feet as he approached me. Before I knew it, he was right next to me, lifting my chin upwards to look at his face. I tried to keep my eyes averted from his gaze and stop the tears that threatened to come again. "Look at me." His hot breath growled into my face.I slowly brought my eyes up to meet his. They were a deep, voidless black. This was the first good look I had gotten at his eyes and I hoped it would be my last. His black hair hung to the side with a few pieces escaping to fall on his forehead. A square jaw held light pink lips that always seemed to be smirking at me. His face was completely devoid of emotion, even though he was smirking. His eyes held nothing but emptiness and he looked at me as weak. It was terrifying being this close to him, and I could tell he knew I was uncomfortable. His hand grew tighter on my chin as I struggled desperately to free my head from his grip. I was beyond scared and wanted to be as far away from him as I

The envelope was brown. It doesn’t have a receiver or sender name.I should have felt it then, the warning, the poison in the air.Curious, I opened it anyway. The photograph slid out with a whisper.Seven’s face hit me first and beside him was a familiar face, too familiar, his arm wrapped around her. Hailey. The Moon Goddess. Her lips curved in a smirk so triumphant it made me sick. And between them was a baby. My baby.I staggered back a step, as if the floor itself had betrayed me. The little boy nestled in Hailey’s arms was unmistakable, the soft curl of his hair, the tiny birthmark on his cheek, a mark I knew because I had kissed it a thousand times. His smile, the one he used to give me, now aimed at her. At them. The baby I thought was kidnapped. My knees buckled. The pain wasn’t sharp. It was deep, an endless splitting inside my chest, like I was being hollowed out from the inside. Seven didn’t even look guilty. He looked proud. As if he belonged there, next to her, instead o

I awoke in my stall on the bed. Light was streaming through the small window high above me. The ferals outside were noisy and I could hear that they were tearing something apart. The sound was like squelching, like flesh tearing from bones or I don’t even want to know it. But because I was freaking curious, I stood up, despite the protest of my chest and looked at the small hole in my room. And there it was. A body was torn apart, the ferals were fighting, playing tag, trying to have a large portion.“So, who was it again?” I heard someone speak up. “The other man that the king found three weeks ago,” a man said. “Oh, the one who kept on resisting?”“Yes. Unfortunately, the king’s patience ran out and he fed him to his dog.”“Well, all of those who resist him always end up being fed to these beasts,” the other man replied, which scared me. Axel must have moved me from the floor to my bed and I was glad I was asleep for that. The pain of walking or being carried would have been uni

My mouth instantly began to water. He saw me staring at his hands and laughed aloud this time. "Oh, is my little mate? Hungry?" All I could do was nod intently. It had been days since I had anything to eat or drink, and the result of that was starting to weigh upon me."Well, why don't you come over to me and get it then?" Axel looked at me with danger in his eyes. He knew I refused, he’ll just going to do what he wanted and if I talk back, Fenrir will have mercy on me. Once I realized he was serious and the only way for me to get the piping hot bowl of newly cooked meat was to walk over to him, I almost screamed in frustration. He put me through it all, he tortured me and now I'm just supposed to walk it off?! Unbelievable. Despite what I thought though, he wasn't going to give me any food until I came over to him. I began to muster up all my strength and courage even if the thing on my chest hurts like hell. It didn’t dry up or at least close. In fact it went deeper in my flesh,

Jefferson led me back to my room. “I’m sorry,” I said, almost in a whisper.Jefferson halted and turned around to me. “Yeah, whatever. It’s too late,” he replied and assumed walking. “Just to let you know, Axel doesn't have plans on letting you live for too long. I shouldn’t tell you this but well, maybe I thought you deserve to know.”When we reached my room, he opened the door and I entered inside before.him slamming the door and locking it. Inside, I saw that the haystack was gone and replaced by a bed. I laid there for at least an hour. My eyes grew heavy and exhaustion threatened to overtake me, but I refused to fall asleep. I needed to get out of this torture house and back to my pack. How that would happen- I had no idea. I hoped beyond hope that Axel wouldn't be the one to come back and get me. If I saw him again I might pass out, just out of pure terror. He scared me beyond what I could handle right now, and I couldn't handle very much. With every second that went by I

Before I could process his change of mood, he had my wrists bound in silver handcuffs above my head. I hissed but I still tried to bring them down but a clink of metal and the sensation of being burned without fire prevented me from doing that. Axel had my arms chained above my head to where I was already tiptoeing. I could barely reach the floor. A smirk was now on his face as he stared at me, helpless. I let a whimper escape my lips as all courage drained from my body. Axel only smiled more at that, taking delight in my pain and fear. He now paraded around the room, making his way towards the hot coals in the fire pit. He then tossed more charcoal. “It seemed that you still didn’t know what you were here?” He looked at me expectedly to answer the question. Of course I knew. I knew because he already told me but I pretended I didn’t. “I didn’t.” I tried to lie and spit back at him, but my words only came out as a whimper. Axel laughed at that but didn’t reach his eyes. He step

“I heard him yesterday saying someone will arrive and that someone will occupy that space,” another voice spoke up. “I didn’t know it was also a pack wolf. You’re not a feral.”“Yes,” I replied. “I was trapped, sold and purchased by Axel,” I said and heard everyone gasping. “Don’t mention his name. He can hear it,” Anna said, I heard a hint of fear.I sighed. Just as I was about to ask another question, a sound came from outside. The ferals stop growling and whine instead. Everyone quickly hushed their voices as the cabin doors creaked open. Footsteps echoed along the pavement and down the way next to my room. There they stopped, and hands started fiddling with the lock to my door. After a faint click the heavy wooden door was pushed open to reveal Axel. He stared in the room, looking at me expectedly. What did he expect me to do? I’m not just going to willingly go to him…With an angry grunt he marched into my room and picked me up by the wrist. I was then dragged across the cabin

“I don’t need someone who talks a lot,” he said and gave Katherine’s head a kick and it rolled out of the door as the knife still plunged inside my leg. “Heal yourself. I heard you are a healer,” Axel said as he pulled out the knife. The white sheet of the bed was already stained by my blood. I hissed, trying to concentrate, and heal myself despite how painful it was. And within a few seconds, the wound was already healed. “Wow,” Axel said. “So it's true,” he said. “This is going to be fun, my unfaithful, mate.”I flinched. He raised his hand and touched my face. He blinked for a bit. His face became unreadable and suddenly, he gave me a back slap again. “I was supposed to feel tingles, those excited tingles that I felt when we first met, it was heaven, it felt so good,” he said, tears started to form in his eyes. And then he looked at me, he blinked his tears back and then I watched his face morphed into anger as if he was remembering something. “You bitch,” he screamed and I earn
