It was four in the morning when a familiar noise invaded Alinta's dream, like a Viking raid on a peaceful village. She groaned as she woke up to her buzzing alarm. Just as she was about to turn it off, she remembered that today was the day of their trip. Alinta jumped out of bed, brushed her teeth, and took a quick shower. Since comfort was key to her travels, she put on some jeans, sneakers, and a pretty navy top that matched her shoes. Alinta tied her thick red hair into a high ponytail and opted for light makeup: some foundation powder, eyeliner, mascara, and cherry lip gloss. Satisfied with her appearance, she grabbed her handbag and stepped out of the cottage, just in time to see the taxi driver ready to help with her luggage.

Alinta arrived at the bus station an hour before departure. Great, some time to grab snacks for the road, she thought. Just then, she caught a familiar scent and anxiously spun around, only to find Bellinor standing among the trees, almost hidden in their s

The following morning, Alinta woke up early to the sound of her mother singing as she carried a cup of freshly brewed coffee."Happy birthday, my baby," her mother sang, pulling Alinta into a tight hug. Her mother was beautiful, with raven black hair and striking green eyes, just like her daughter. "Today is the day the Moon blesses you with your wolf, Lara, and I can't wait to meet her." She hummed and kissed Alinta on the forehead. "I wanted to spoil you with a special breakfast, but since Bellinor has gotten to you first with his invitation, I guess you'll have to settle for some coffee instead," she winked."Mom, no matter what you make or give me, it's always the best," Alinta giggled, enjoying the warmth of her mother's embrace."Oh, my baby, I wish I could give you the world—that’s how precious you are to me. When you get home, we can go to the river as promised and run with our wolves.""I'm so excited!" Alinta exclaimed, eagerly trying to call for her wolf, but there was no r

Bellinor released Alinta to cover his mouth as he coughed uncomfortably, trying to get his thoughts together. Her words were completely unexpected. Though determined to change her perspective of him, Bellinor slips his free hand under her jaw to cup the side of her face, making her look at him."My dear, please rather see me as your beloved protector, for my feelings for you are so much more. If ever I wanted to be a father it would only be of our future pups," he whispered sensually close to her ear."Oh my!" Alinta reddened uncomfortably, then continued, "Um...but I first would like to find my true..." Bellinor silenced her as he kissed Alinta. She tried to retreat from his hold, but he tightened his grip. Hoping to sway her mind, believing she would melt in his arms by his touch. Alinta gasped through her nose in surprise. Instead of a quick peck, Bellinor snaked another hand behind her head, holding her in place, pressing himself against her soft lips, praying the kiss would trans

“Earth to Alinta! You’re next in the queue,” Angela called out.“Oh, sorry! Thanks, Ange,” Alinta replied as she snapped out of her thoughts and quickly shifted her attention to the cashier.“Hey, don’t let that jerk scare you. He’s not going to ruin our holiday,” Angela said once Alinta finished paying for her items.Alinta glanced at her phone and sighed. “We have twenty-five minutes left. What are we going to do now?” she asked reluctantly as she approached the exit.Angela looked around, trying to see through Alinta's eyes. “I don’t see him anywhere. Where do we need to go for our bus?”Alinta checked the name of the bus company. “It’s called Grey Hare.” She then stared at the long building with different entrances, each window displaying the corresponding company name, but she couldn’t see their bus brand."Guess we have no choice, but to leave the safety of the shop," Alinta sighed and quickly walked down the sidewalk, which felt like a long trek.“Dang, who knew there were so m

Alinta was so excited. She had just boarded the plane and found her seat. It had been an hour and a half since she ran from the silver-haired stranger, and Angela had been awfully quiet. This usually happened when Angela was genuinely pissed off.“Ange, are you angry with me?” Alinta asked, worried. She waited for a response, but there was none. Alinta felt regret wash over her as a pit of unease settled in her stomach. She never wanted to upset her best friend, but she had her reasons. It was just too absurd; no werewolf in history had ever had a second-chance mate. Why now? Why right before their birthday? Was it because Eddison finally rejected her? That would explain the timing, but still... he shouldn't exist. Did the Moon finally realise he had made a mistake, just like he had with the imperfect lesser deity?“Geez, your thoughts are so loud!” Angela giggled like a little girl.“Ange! Are you okay?” Alinta asked anxiously.“Yeah. Why do you sound so stressed?” Angela replied, co

Alinta eagerly gazed at the earth below her as the plane descended. The buildings grew larger as they got closer. "I can see the landing strip!" she exclaimed, animated like a young child. Angela, her wolf, was just as thrilled, experiencing the moment through Alinta’s eyes.Dacian let out a small chuckle and said, "Get yourself ready. Once the wheels make contact with the ground, it can be a bit intense for a first-timer.""Thanks," Alinta replied excitedly. "I can't wait to get off this plane and relax in a normal room," she sighed tiredly, fidgeting with her hands."Yeah, it was nice of Helen to book us a hotel close to the airport for the night," Angela hummed."That woman thought of everything. I don't know how I will pay her back," Alinta said with a sigh."We will find a way, don't you worry." Alinta nodded at her wolf's reassurance, her mind racing through possible solutions."Your wolf must be excited; you look so happy and lost in thought," Dacian said humorously, observing h

"Hmmm, I found you," hummed a deep and satisfied voice.Sounds of struggling for air filled the room as Alinta woke from a terrifying dream. Once her eyes opened, she fearfully looked around until she remembered where she was and quickly sat up."Damn, girl, you okay? I tried to wake you about ten minutes ago, but you were out like a light," Angela exclaimed."I'm okay. It was just a weird nightmare that I can't even remember," Alinta sighed in relief as she wiped her eyes. "Why did you want to wake me, though? Did something happen?""Yeah, there was a knock on the door, and I heard something being placed outside," Angela said while lazily scratching her ear with her hind leg."Always alert! It’s no wonder no one ever tried to break into our cottage," Alinta giggled. She quickly got up, tidied her appearance, and made her way to the door. As she carefully opened it, she saw that Angela was right—there was indeed something there. A beautifully crafted gift basket with a large red bow st

Alinta made her way to the elevator. As the doors closed, she glanced behind her and saw the man from the restaurant earlier. He looked like the living dead; his skin was grey with a purplish undertone, and his wide-open eyes stared intensely at her. Alinta felt a surge of fear at his presence, but when she noticed blood running from his nose, she asked, concerned, "Hey, are you okay, sir?"The man continued to gaze at her with a vehement look and took a step forward. "You are breathtaking," he said in a deranged whisper."You're bleeding from your nose; you need medical attention," Alinta replied, backing away slightly. The man kept his gaze fixed on her as if trying to bore holes through her with his eyes. Alinta turned her attention back to the elevator numbers, which had only reached the fifth floor."What colour is your wolf?" he asked, his breath strained."She is red, just like your entire chest and the floor covered in your blood. Please, let me take you to someone who can help

"Ange!" Alinta shouted as she saw her wolf lying on her side in the dirt, whimpering and her muscles twitching from pain. Alinta rushed to Angela's unresponsive body and pulled her head to her lap as she assessed her injuries, but there were none visible. Angela's stiffening body is not a good sign and Alinta became frightened.“Ange, please tell me what is wrong!” Alinta cried, panic gripping her heart. “Why couldn’t I sense you or feel your pain? What did that man do to you? Did you catch his disease when you bit him?” Tears streamed down her face as she cradled her large wolf, who seemed to quiet her whimpers. Yet, her breathing quickened, as if she were struggling to get oxygen. “Angela, please! What can I do to help?” Alinta screamed, dread overwhelming her. She wept while clinging to her wolf, softly stroking her silky coat and kissing her face."You are not leaving me!" Alinta looked to the sky and screamed, "I swear to the fucking Divinities, if I lose my only sanity and sister

Deep within Bellinor's mind, Onyx woke up sleepily. As he observed his surroundings, he realized he was in a large pit of complete darkness. Restlessly, he paced in circles, howling and barking in an attempt to reach his human counterpart.“Bellinor!” he called, but was met with utter silence.“What is the meaning of this? Am I truly nothing to you?” he bellowed with all his might, but still, there was no response. Had his counterpart really discarded him just like that, after being together for seventy-six years? He snorted in absolute ridicule, unable to believe it had come to this. Onyx felt betrayed, and the pain in his heart was almost unbearable. But he was determined not to cry; he refused to show weakness and would not give Bellinor and his new wolf the satisfaction. He needed to speak to Draven—he had the right to see his chosen mate. If Draven refused, Onyx would challenge him, even if it meant his demise. He was prepared to risk everything, everything for the one wolf that

*November 28, 2024**"This is absolute bullshit, if the police snoop around here I’ll be ruined, WE will get into big SHIT!" Martha exclaimed whilst sitting in her office continuously running her fingers through her hair in worry. Three hours had passed since her confrontation with Officer Kyle and Silas. It had been an intense encounter; out of fear, the maid Muriel revealed to the men that she helped prepare Bellinor's mate before their departure. Silas nearly lost his composure upon hearing her words, but fortunately, Kyle's calm demeanour kept him in check."On the other hand, that gorgeous hunk is here, and his wolf! Grrr, fuck, just thinking about him makes me hot! Even though he looked like a devil ready to rip our heads off. He is so majestic, I can only imagine how he will feel if he mounts me," her wolf moaned in need."You horny little bitch, but I don't blame you, I could eat that male werewolf up anytime, he can be a dirty beggar for all I care. Bellinor gently laid Alinta on his large bed, bravely pressing her down with his imposing physique as they continued to share their passionate kiss. Alinta, now in a complete spell, allowed fate to take its course with the man the Moon had paired her with. Taking care not to crush his darling, Bellinor slowly ended the kiss. He breathed heavily, his eyes glowing amethyst, and Alinta felt the unexplainable warmth radiating from him. Onyx, she thought to herself excitedly. She felt for Angela, but her wolf was riding a high of her own. Her focus returned to the large man hovering above her, his eyes fierce with hunger."I want you to want me, my love. I need you to accept us as your destined mate. We have made up for our mistakes, and the Moon acknowledged that. Please try to see it too," he whispered in the gentlest voice, tugging at Alinta's heartstrings. She looked at him with wide eyes. As he brushed her hair aside, his expression revealed genuine sadness. Bellinor was never an unat

It was an exhausting trip back to Umber Valley, but Alinta felt somewhat relieved to return to a familiar place as the car entered the forest. She anxiously glanced at a turn they had missed and was about to point it out when Bellinor's voice sounded."Oh no, my darling. You are my mate, and I am your home now," Bellinor hummed affectionately, looking at her with a salacious glint in his eyes, his excitement bubbling over in anticipation of Draven's promise.Alinta felt conflicted. Her heart fluttered at his words, but she desperately wanted to return to her cabin; she needed space from Bellinor. His presence had become suffocating. Despite her attempts to distance herself, Bellinor's intense gaze made her feel as though his orbs were caressing her no matter where they landed. Every time she looked into his eyes, her cheeks burned with shyness, and that strange lingering feeling she'd experienced since her dream only intensified. She knew she had to do something to gain her much-neede

Kyle got back into the car and started the engine once the gates opened. The driveway was long, the property massive, as its well-kept gardens stretched out hundreds of acres. "What place is this?" Orion asked, somewhat in awe."This, my friend, is the Reverie Villa, a holiday home that is reserved and rented out to only the elites. How your mate got here is beyond me. Not to mention it is also very far from where the gathering took place," Kyle answered, but his stare became distant as he started employing his investigative thinking. After eight minutes of driving to the large building, Kyle slowly steered to a designated parking space under the trees. Suddenly, his phone rang. "Hey Seth, talk to me. What did you find?" Kyle asked, pinching his phone between his ear and shoulder. He took out his notebook and pen, jotting down notes. Orion got out of the car, too anxious to sit and wait. He let his wolf senses take over, smelling the air for his mate. His eyes widened as he caught a f

Alinta had already boarded Bellinor’s private jet and silently followed him to the seat he had shown her to sit in. During this time she felt conflicted—never in her entire existence had she had a dream like that, and it was with Bellinor, of all werewolves in this world! However, she remembered the way he transformed into a humanoid with pronounced wolf features, especially the pointy ears, purple eyes, and slightly misshapen nose. Was it Onyx who I dreamed of in a human form? That's ridiculous! Onyx is practically Bellinor in his human form! That looked like a hairless Lycanthrope with more human genes than anything else. Still, though more animal-like, he was very handsome and I was so drawn to him. That’s it, I'm fucking losing my shit. She cussed herself in disgust and felt a pang in her heart as she remembered Orion."Someone was very naughty last night," sang a voice in her head.Alinta's face reddened. "I swear I have no idea where that dream came from! It was as if I had a pre

Alinta woke up in a bright baby-blue room that she did not recognise. As she looked around to assess her surroundings, she noticed there were no windows or lights, yet the space was bright, warm and comforting. Her emotions felt foreign, her sadness seemed to be dulled, yet replaced by something unfamiliar however not unpleasant. It was strangely... nice, inducing the notion to let her guard down as it felt almost dreamlike.Carefully, she got out of bed and realised she was wearing a plain silk white nightdress that was short-sleeved and reached above her knees. As she took a step, she noticed she was not wearing any underwear. Instead of panicking, she felt fine with it, still focused on this new emotion and sensation.Alinta made her way to the only exit of the room. As she reached it, Bellinor appeared out of nowhere, he rushed toward Alinta and wrapped his arms around her as though his life depended on it. Alinta heaved a relieved sigh of happiness and tried to speak, but her voic

Orion anxiously stared at the seatbelt light, desperate to get out of the plane and reach his beloved. Silas was feeling the same as his person, restlessly pacing up and down in his mind. It was 5:15 a.m., and just as the plane came to a stop, Orion jumped up, grabbed his meagre bag, and rushed toward the exit. Three of the flight attendants were about to scold him, but when they caught sight of the handsome determined man, they became flustered and only offered a gentle warning. Orion didn’t care; the moment the plug door opened, he rushed out.He made his way to the airport pick-up zone, where numerous cabs and shuttles were parked.“Hello, sir! Do you need a ride to your home or hotel?” asked an eager taxi driver, desperate for a customer.“Yes, please! I need to get to Bare Mountain’s Shadow,” Orion replied, urgency evident in his voice. “What?” Alinta asked in a barely audible whisper.“They are gone, Als. We should have never abandoned them at the airport. Now they are gone; this bond with Bellinor is not a hex,” Angela cried bitterly. Alinta fell to her knees at this devastating news. Her mind went blank, and tears began to run down her numb cheeks without her even realizing it. Her chest grew heavy as guilt weighed her down.“Our curse might have started with Bellinor; it could also end with him. The Moon is showing us grace for a second time. Please don’t be too eager to dismiss it. I am not going to tell you what to do, Linti, but let’s just observe things for now. Onyx’s demeanour has completely changed since we became mates; he’s a different wolf for the better.""I'm sorry," Alinta could only utter through her sobs, clutching her heart and thinking only about Orion, the second werewolf to have truly captured her heart. It was strange; she knew nothing about him, and they had never even exchanged words, but no
