Reagan POV

Rya's wolf lunged at me, the force of her impact slamming me against the wall. The air whooshed out of my lungs as I braced myself, my eyes widening in surprise.

“Okay,” Rya said, her voice exasperated as she shifted back to human form. Her bare skin glistened with sweat, and her hands were outstretched toward me. “That’s the fourth hit. What the hell, Reagan?” Her eyes were sharp, filled with both concern and irritation.

I grabbed her hands, steadying myself as I pushed away from the wall. “You’ve been spacing out. Care to share?” she asked, her tone softer now but still probing.

“I'm fine,” I said, reaching for a bottle of water and taking a long gulp. The cool liquid felt refreshing against the heat rising from my face.

Rya raised a skeptical eyebrow, clearly not buying my dismissal. Her gaze was sharp, and her arms crossed over her chest as she scrutinized me. “Rya, it’s nothing serious,” I insisted, though the truth was far from simple.

In reality, my mind had been pre

Her presence was like a sudden storm, a whirlwind of tension and unresolved emotions.I kept my gaze trained on the papers sprawled across my desk, desperately trying to appear engrossed in work. My hands fumbled slightly as I pretended to shuffle through the documents, but inside, my mind was a jumbled mess. The moment she entered, it was as if my thoughts had been abruptly silenced."Why are you avoiding me?"I remained silent for some reason I couldn’t look at her afraid once I stared into her beautiful eyes I might break and give in to my desires.Andrea didn't waste time. She crossed the room with determined strides, her steps echoing with a sense of purpose. As she reached my desk, she plopped down in the chair directly in front of me, her movements sharp and deliberate.“Do you plan on staring all day?”“Maybe I won’t if you just answered my question,”

Chapter 26Guinevere’s POV“You better have won some kind of lottery…” Gail said, answering the call with a hint of annoyance.“Where the hell did you drop your phone?” I asked, my frustration barely contained.“Busy, duh. My life doesn’t revolve around my phone,” she replied, sounding defensive.I sighed, struggling to keep my frustration in check. Since Reagan’s abrupt departure to the Crimson Packhouse, my mind had been a whirlwind of questions. What were his true intentions? Did he have a secret plan? Was he involved with the Black Blood Pack? I needed answers, answers I knew Reagan would likely refuse to provide.“Gwen?” Gail’s voice jolted me back to the present.“Did Reagan show up at our house?” I asked urgently.“Yes, why?”“Did he seem… off? Like he was hiding something?”Gail sighed deeply, her voice laced with exasperation. “Really, Gwen? He’s your husband. Why don’t you just ask him? Oh right, you don’t want to seem like you don’t trust him.”I rolled my eyes, irritated b

Guinevere's POVI walked back to my room, more confused than ever. I wanted to see Reagan as the monster he was said to be, but the more time I spent here, the more doubts I had.It wasn't like I didn't want Reagan to be good, but if Reagan is truly a good person, then maybe he is fit for the Alpha.No.How can I think such? Reagan betrayed Hayden when he disguised as him and stole his place, destroyed the happiest day of my life. My blood boiled at the thoughts playing over in my mind. Reagan was no saint; he was just a manipulative person who would do all it takes to get what he wants. I remember it like yesterday, the day I finally saw Reagan for the monster he truly is.FlashbackIt was Hayden’s fourteenth birthday. I had been eager to give him the gift I had carefully chosen, but when I couldn’t find him, my excitement turned to anxiety. I searched frantically until I stumbled upon him in the library room. Books were strewn across the floor, shelves overturned, and Hayden lay the

Guinevere’s POVFlashback"Wait," I said, my voice trembling, betraying the vulnerability I felt. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the moment of truth. "The truth is... I’ve been thinking non-stop. No matter how hard I try, you keep invading my thoughts, and it's making me so confused. Because... I keep getting these feelings stirred up, ones I don’t want to admit."Reagan remained silent, and a sly smile crept onto my lips. I felt a flicker of triumph; perhaps I still had some influence over him.Slowly, Reagan turned to face me. I quickly cleared my throat, replacing the sly smile with a more innocent expression, trying to mask my earlier confidence with shyness. His hand moved to gently brush a strand of hair from my face, and then he asked softly, "Are you okay?"What?!He chuckled lightly, creating some distance between us. "Very funny, Andrea. You almost had me there."Wait, what?!End of FlashbackI glared at Reagan, who sat across from me, engrossed in a book with his

Reagan POVWhy the hell did I agree to this?I should have said no. Anything, just something to avoid being in the same space with her, especially now when she’s all I can think about.I paced the room, trying to keep my composure. The thought of Andrea confessing her feelings replayed in my mind, keeping me up all night and causing butterflies to flutter in my stomach. I tried to dismiss it as a joke, but the sincerity in her eyes was undeniable.Glancing at my reflection in the mirror, I caught myself grinning like an idiot. My smile was wide, almost foolish, and I quickly cleared my throat to dispel the expression. I straightened my posture and stared at my reflection, willing myself to maintain control."Don’t be a fool, Reagan," I muttered to my reflection, my voice filled with self-reproach. "Andrea doesn’t like you. She’s just trying to mess around, and you can’t let yourself fall for that."As I entered the room, Andrea was already there. Her hair was gathered in a messy bun,

Reagan POV“Someone looks distracted,” Andrea’s teasing voice pulled me from my haze.I met her gaze with a smirk, trying to regain my composure. “Dirty play, I see. Well, love, two can play the game.” I pulled off my shirt, my grin widening as her eyes dropped to my exposed abs.“Hey, love, my eyes are up here,” I said, enjoying the way her cheeks flushed. She cleared her throat, her eyes snapping back to mine, and squared her shoulders, readying herself for another attack. We circled each other again, her movements precise and calculated. She lunged at me, but I caught her, pulling her close. Her hands were pinned beside her back as I held her tightly. Our skins were sticky with sweat, our breaths coming in ragged gasps. From this angle, I could see the enticing curve of her cleavage, and the sight was almost too much to bear. She was tempting me, and right now, every part of me wanted to succumb to that temptation.I released her, and as she turned to face me, I found myself unable

Guinevere's POVI cleared my throat, my pulse racing with a mix of embarrassment and anticipation as I walked towards Otis. “What is it?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the pounding of my heart.Otis handed me the envelope with a smirk that hinted at the contents. “It’s an invitation from Julius. His annual party."“Oh!” My face brightened at the mention of Julius. Julius was one of the sweetest Alpha I had ever met. He was the fun of the party and always threw this amazing parties for all alphas around the world. I believed it was his way of wanting to bring peace among the Alphas. A friendly gesture, not one many Alpha’s would consider due to their pride and I admired that about him.“I didn’t know you guys were invited. No offense, I just never heard of the Shadow Fang Pack attending,” “It’s fine. Well, Alpha Julius is very keen on Reagan,” Otis said, his tone taking on a teasing lilt.Reagan, rolling his eyes at Otis’s comment, responded curtly, “Send a message

I turned to leave, but my resolve held me in place. “I get why you don’t want to come, but this is an opportunity, Reagan.”The water shut off abruptly, and

Guinevere's POVThe endless pacing had left me drained, my mind a whirlwind of frustration and determination. The sleepless night did nothing to dull the fire burning within me—I had to meet the caller. With Reagan missing and only four days until vindication with the council, I had no other choice. The burden fell on my shoulders. I was the daughter of the Crescent Moon Pack, and I could handle anything thrown my way.As I entered the abandoned warehouse, the air was thick with dust and dampness. The broken windows allowed slivers of moonlight to cast eerie shadows across the space. I scanned the room, my senses on high alert.Psychopaths and their love for abandoned warehouses, I thought bitterly.A voice emerged from the shadows, smooth but tinged with mockery. "You made it.""Of course." My voice was steady, though my fists clenched. "You didn’t think I’d chicken out, did you?""Never," he replied with a chuckle. "I’ve always admired your courage, Gwen."My eyes narrowed. "Yeah? S

Guienevere's POVThis is insane, I thought as I paced the length of my room, the anxiety clawing at my chest like an unrelenting beast. How could everything be so calm? How could Reagan act as if his life wasn’t hanging by a thread? His nonchalance wasn’t just infuriating; it was maddening. Something wasn’t right. I felt it deep in my bones, an unshakable sense of dread that wouldn’t let me rest. If Reagan wasn’t going to take this seriously, then I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands. Without a second thought, I grabbed my coat and made my way to the Crescent Howl Pack. The journey felt both agonizingly long and painfully brief as my mind raced with all the possibilities. By the time I arrived, the sight of the familiar estate brought a wave of mixed emotions—relief, fear, and a touch of nostalgia. As I stepped into the pack house, my sister Gail ran up to me, wrapping me in a tight, almost suffocating hug. “Woah,” I said with a laugh, “didn’t know I was misse

His hands, warm and strong, cupped my face with such tenderness that it made my knees weak."Andréa," he whispered, my name rolling off his lips like a prayer. We were so close that I could feel his breath against my skin, warm and intoxicating. His kiss was gentle at first, a soft press that made my stomach flutter. A groan slipped from my lips—one I couldn’t hold back even if I tried. "I’ll leave you two to it," he said, stepping past her and out the door. The door clicked shut behind him, leaving the room unnervingly silent."How did it go with the elders?" I asked, my voice steady, though my stomach churned with worry. I crossed my arms and leaned against the doorway, watching him as he sat at his desk, his jaw tight and his hands clasped in front of him."Good, I think," Reagan said, his tone clipped, avoiding my gaze."Did you tell them about the meeting?"He stilled, the air growing heavy before he replied, "No."The single word hit me like a punch to the gut. My brows furrowed as I straightened. "What?! W...why?"He finally looked at me, his eyes dark and unyielding. "Because I don’t feel comfortable discussing confidential matters with them. What happened at that meeting stays between my pack and me."I stepped closer, my voice rising in frustration. "But if you don’t tell t

Reagan’s POVI stepped into the town hall, my boots clicking against the polished wooden floor as the oppressive silence greeted me. The elders sat in a semi-circle, their expressions varying from stern to outright disdain. It was clear they weren’t thrilled by my presence."You’re late," one of the elders snapped, his tone sharp and accusing.I gave a small, apologetic smile that didn’t reach my eyes. "Apologies, but as you’re all aware, I have a pack to lead. Unlike some, I don’t have the luxury of free time."One of the younger elders, his face turning red with fury, looked ready to explode. But before he could, Elder Nicholas, the eldest of them all, placed a calming hand on his shoulder. His silver hair gleamed in the dim light, and his piercing eyes fixed on me, unamused but measured.I smirked, enjoying the tension, and strode to the chair in the center of the room. The scraping sound of the chair as I pulled it back echoed like a challenge. I sat down leisurely, crossing my le

Guinevere’s POVYou know that feeling when you say something so unbelievably stupid, you wish you could rewind time and erase the words before they even left your mouth? That was how I felt right now. No—that was only a fraction of it.My chest tightened as the air between us grew heavy with disbelief, pain, and something far worse: betrayal.Reagan’s expression twisted, his brows furrowed, and his lips parted slightly as if he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard. His green eyes—usually so sharp and filled with fire—now stared at me with a mix of confusion and devastation."What did you just say?" His voice cracked, low and unsteady, as he took a step back."Reagan..." I started, my voice trembling, but the words stuck in my throat like barbed wire."You didn’t do it, right?" he asked, his tone rising, demanding answers. His eyes searched mine desperately, but I couldn’t meet his gaze.I remained quiet, guilt clawing at me like a beast inside. The silence only stretched, suffocating

Reagan's POVThe soft light of the sun spilled gently into the room, bathing everything in a warm golden glow. My eyelids fluttered as I stirred, the ache in my muscles a dull reminder of something I couldn’t yet recall. Slowly, I opened my eyes, the hazy outlines of the room coming into focus.“Ugh…” I groaned, my voice hoarse, my throat dry as sandpaper.“Don’t move too much,” a calm, familiar voice said, laced with concern.I turned my head slightly, wincing as the motion sent a sharp pang through my body. Grandmother Lana stood beside me, her soft gray hair framing a face lined with wisdom and worry. She reached out, her touch steadying me as my body shifted.“Grandmother Lana?” I rasped, blinking hard to focus on her face.“You’re awake,” she said with a small, relieved smile. “But don’t strain yourself just yet.”I tried to sit up, but a sudden weight held me back. My gaze dropped, and my heart sank when I saw the thick, silver chains binding my wrists and ankles. The cold metal

But now that it was happening, something inside me felt hollow. Why?I tried to push the question aside, to drown out the nagging voice in the back of my mind. Was it because I was furious with Reagan for breaking his promise? No. Deep down, I knew it wasn’t that. The truth was buried somewhere darker, somewhere I refused to explore.“I love Hayden,” I told myself, gripping his shirt tighter. “And I’ll love him alone.”Breaking the kiss for a moment, I looked up into his warm, hazel eyes. His lips were slightly parted, and his breath came in short, shallow bursts. He studied me with an intensity that made my heart ache, as if he could see the war raging inside me.“Let’s get out of here,” I whispered, my voice trembling but fi
