Though Jacob was acting normally with Edwin, his dislike towards him didn’t completely fade. He needed some time for everything he had on Edwin to erase.
When Jacob told Freddie to not plan anything against Edwin, he was confused that raised many doubts to him and Jacob was not able to clear his doubts. All he said was whatever they were doing was wrong and Ace was getting crushed between all those. He even apologized Kate and Ralph for treating Edwin and Ralph like that, which shocked Ralph.
