"Alas, it was partly my fault. He simply looked too young. Before treating Mr. Kinsley Senior, we had a bit of a disagreement, so I didn't manage to get his contact."

Xena understood where Xander was coming from and couldn't blame him.

No one would believe it when a young man claimed his medical skills were superior to Xander's, one of the top ten healers in the country.

"Thank you, Dr. Fielding. I'll follow up with the Kinsley family."

Some hope was better than none. Compared to the elusive miracle doctor, Xena thought that the mysterious young man was undoubtedly worth pursuing.

Felix felt thoroughly satisfied as he left Luxe Dining. The food was delicious, justifying its high price.

Just then, Warren called. Before leaving the Quinston villa, Felix had reluctantly given him his new contact information.

"Uncle Warren, what's up?"

"Felix, come stay at my place tonight."

Felix tried to decline. "No, I—"

"Don't even try to fool me. I've known you since you were a kid. I can read you like a book. So, tell me where you're staying, and I'll come over for a visit."

Felix smiled wryly. He knew he couldn't deceive Warren. However, he really didn't want to face Nattie and Sasha again.

"Okay. I'll come to your place right now."

"That's more like it! Hurry up. You left too soon. This time, we can have a proper drink together."

When he arrived, Nattie and Sasha were both present. Out of respect for Warren, they didn't show any hostility, but they weren't exactly welcoming either.

"Sasha, didn't you mention you're going somewhere with your friends tomorrow afternoon?"

Sasha replied, "Yeah. We're going for outdoor barbecues. Why, Dad?"

Immediately, she sensed something was off.

"Bring Felix along. You two will get married eventually, and he should get to know your friends. It's better for him to meet them early."

Just as Sasha was about to object and find an excuse, Nattie interjected, "Your dad's right, Sasha. You should bring Felix along. But remember. Some of your friends can be quite snobbish. You need to stand up for Felix, got it?"

Sasha smiled at her words. This could be a great opportunity for Felix to see the reality of things. "Actually, I was thinking the same. I just hadn't found the right moment to tell Felix."

Warren was delighted. "That's more like it! Felix, you see that? Your charm is undeniable. My daughter's already falling for you."

Felix had no choice but to smile along. Warren was practically his second father, having saved Matthew's life once. It was out of the question to refuse him.

"Then, I'll be counting on you, Sasha."

Early the next morning, Felix finished breakfast and was about to leave when Warren asked, "Felix, where are you off to so early?"

"Oh, I'm heading to Concord Bank to settle some things."

Felix would need money to get the rare herbs needed for Curtis' treatment. So, he had to use the card Leslie had given him.

"Perfect! Sasha needs to handle some company business at Concord Bank, too. You can go together."

Seriously? The more he tried to avoid her, the more they ended up together.

Sasha was clearly not thrilled, either, but she couldn't go against Warren.

As the car pulled away, Sasha looked at Felix with a mischievous smile.

"Felix, do you know what car I'm driving?"

"Porsche Cayenne," Felix replied absentmindedly, staring out the window.

It had been three years since he last returned to Avesburgh, and the changes along the way were strikingly huge from his last trip to the outskirts.

Seemingly prompted by a thought, Sasha said in a different tone, "That's right. I almost forgot your family used to do pretty well in business. Of course you'd recognize a luxury car."

Felix turned to look at Sasha, who never missed a chance to mock him.

"I've told you before. Nothing will happen between us. You don't need to seize every opportunity to ridicule me. It's completely unnecessary."

Frankly speaking, Sasha wasn't even that attractive, especially not when compared to any of his fellow apprentices or Xena. Even Wendy was leagues ahead of her.

"Good. Just wanted to make sure," Sasha retorted.

A moment later, the car abruptly stopped at a corner.

"Get out."

Felix frowned. "What do you mean?"

"You're really something, aren't you? Concord Bank isn't like other banks. It's for the wealthy. With its headquarters overseas, regular customers must maintain a balance of at least a million dollars in their accounts.

"You can't even get through the door. You can pretend all you want in front of my dad. I'll let it slide. But with me, you can drop the act."

Seeing Sasha's disdainful expression, Felix got out of the car.

Did she really think he wanted to ride in her car?

It wasn't far from the bank now, and walking would give him a chance to reminisce about his hometown.

Half an hour later, Sasha finished her business and came down to the lobby of Concord Bank, only to see Felix walking in. Her irritation skyrocketed.

She thought, "Unbelievable! He actually followed me here? Does he think chasing me around will change my attitude? How ridiculous!"

Sasha wore a scowl as she approached Felix.

"You're getting out of line! Enough is enough. Just because my dad looks out for you doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.

"This place is for the rich and influential. Are you trying to embarrass me? Get out of here right now!"

Before the lobby attendant could approach, Sasha made her move first.

She feared that if Felix started talking, the situation would be harder to handle. After all, she was a notable figure in Avesburgh now, and someone might recognize them.

Felix sighed, his tone growing more serious. "Sasha, why are you so full of yourself? What I do and where I go are none of your business. Who are you to tell me what to do? If it weren't for Uncle Warren, I wouldn't waste my breath on you."

Sasha was dumbstruck. Never had she imagined Felix would speak to her like that. Raised in privilege, she had never been treated this way.

Just as she was about to retaliate, Felix turned his attention to Jamie Hamm, the lobby attendant standing nearby. "Hello, where's the VIP section? Please take me there."

Sasha couldn't help but laugh out loud. All she wanted now was to humiliate Felix while ignoring the curious looks coming from others.

"Haha! VIP section? Even the most basic VIP account requires a minimum balance of ten million dollars. Do you even have ten thousand on you, you pauper?"

Judging from Felix's outfit and Sasha's words, Jamie was skeptical that he was a VIP client. According to the rules, they had to verify his identity first.

"Sir, please show your bank card and verify your fingerprint here."

Nodding, Felix handed over Leslie's bank card.

Jamie took it and gasped. "Is this… the Supreme Black Card?"

Jamie was stunned, as were others in the lobby who heard the words "Supreme Black Card".Sasha, too, gaped at Felix in disbelief. The Supreme Black Card was a rare status symbol. Only about 30 people in the world possessed it, each with wealth beyond imagination. So, how could Felix possibly be a holder of the Supreme Black Card? That was just absurd!Swallowing hard, Jamie stammered. He knew that even the cardholders of the next tier down, the Diamond Card, would be greeted by the bank manager at the door.Handling a Supreme Black Card was a first for him, and Jamie was beyond nervous."P-Please verify your identity."Though the standard procedure was to immediately escort Supreme Black Card holders to the VIP room and notify the bank manager, Jamie was overwhelmed by the situation and couldn't think straight."Alright," Felix agreed, placing his right hand on the machine.Sasha's mind was racing as she watched. She needed to figure out how to make amends for offending Felix

Wendy finally understood what Xander was referring to at that time. The big shot he had said needed help for her grandfather was none other than the war goddess, Xena Summers."Lady Summers, please don't misunderstand. I have no intention of keeping any help from you. However, I genuinely dare not proceed without permission from the master healer. I'm sure you know from Dr. Fielding what his temper is like."No interaction under this sky wasn't driven by interests. Xena didn't expect Wendy to explain herself so readily without excessive prodding."Just say the word, and I'll be at the Kinsley family's disposal from here on out."Wendy was shocked to the core. Such a promise was priceless beyond words. Standing before her was the first goddess of war in Dragonia who possessed supreme power. With her on their side, her family would definitely soar to great heights.Yet, as soon as she thought of Felix, a pang of guilt surged within her again."I'm so sorry, Lady Summers. This is not a m

Just then, Felix's phone rang. When Sasha and the others saw the caller ID, their fury was immediately extinguished.A phone call from Wendy Kinsley?Everyone knew of Wendy. She was the daughter of the richest man here, the drop-dead gorgeous CEO of Avesburgh, and the dream woman of countless men.Just this guy? Did he really have access to Wendy's mobile? That was beyond belief. At this point, Felix had already stepped aside to answer the call."Are you here?""In a few minutes, F-Felix. Since you're there, I've made a reservation at Zenith Pavilion. We can talk there. It's quite quiet. There's no need to change locations."Although she had Felix's permission to address him by his given name, Wendy still felt distinctly uncomfortable."Okay. I'll head over now."When he hung up, Sasha was about to burst into flames."Felix Zeller! Are you not done yet? First, you show off with an edited image. Then, you hire someone to pretend to be the richest man's daughter and call you at such a cr

Hugo's brows knitted together as his deep gaze landed on Ruth."Are you saying Felix—the guy freeloading at Sasha's—has Wendy's phone number?"Ruth shrank back in fear, while Sasha stepped in to smooth things over."Hugo, I'm afraid you've misunderstood. That guy just loves to show off. If you let me explain, I'm sure we can clear things up for you."After learning about Felix's actions at Concord Bank and his presence here, Hugo let out a disdainful sneer."That's more like it. If someone like that had access to Wendy's contact, even pigs could fly!"Ivan quickly chimed in, "You're right. It was just too much of a coincidence! We almost let that bastard fool us again."Hugo patted him on the shoulder. "How dare that piece of garbage that even Sasha despises pretend to have Wendy's number? Don't you guys agree that he needs a lesson?"Ivan caught his message without fail. He had long been thinking about teaching Felix a lesson for harboring thoughts about his woman. Now that he

The Miracle Card worked in a rather straightforward way. On its flip side were multiple layers of a special coating. Each time it was retrieved, a layer would be peeled off to reveal a new phone number. This would be Gerald's latest contact information. This system seemed to have no safeguards, yet it topped any high-tech security system. Only two people in the world could process the card for its next use—Felix and Gerald. They practiced the same unique technique, which was the only method to remove the coating.By now, the little boy had arrived at the entrance of Luxe Dining. He held the Miracle Card in his hands. The previous coating had already been peeled off by Felix, thus making it ready for use.The boy hastily stopped a heavily bejeweled woman and asked, "Excuse me, ma'am. Would you like to buy this?"Disgust instantly clouded her face."Go away! Where on earth did this little beggar come from? How useless can the security be at Luxe Dining? How could they let him linger

The Phoenix Legion was a formidable force led by Xena. Apart from the highest authorities in Dragonia, the army only answered to Xena. The legion was stationed on the outskirts of Avesburgh. They occupied a vast area and were equipped with all sorts of advanced weaponry. Whenever they were deployed, victory was guaranteed.Because her unit was based here by national orders, Xena also had to reside in Avesburgh. At this moment, Xena was in her office at the headquarters of the Phoenix Legion, reviewing some documents."There's a possibility that the S-ranked fugitive group—the Menacing Four—could make an appearance in Avesburgh in the coming days? Ha! Where did these thugs get the balls to come and make a mess in my territory?"Just then, her office door swung open, and in walked her subordinate, Belle Frost. She was drop-dead gorgeous, a stunning beauty who had been under Xena for a few years now."Milady, there's news about the miracle doctor."Xena leaped to her feet. She had

At sunset, Felix stood near a café in Avesburgh. He waited by the roadside for someone to pick him up.He was in quite a good mood now. He was clad in white from head to toe, including a pair of snow-white shoes."The old man definitely did this on purpose," he muttered. This attire was Gerald's requirement, as a distinctive mark for recognition. He strongly suspected it to be a prank Gerald was pulling on him, but he ultimately had no choice in the matter.Since the Miracle Card was still in Avesburgh, it had to be the one he handed to the little boy. Its reputation and immeasurable value had to have made it an easy sell. It didn't take long at all for it to change hands. As he pondered this, a Mercedes S500 pulled up to him. The driver's door swung open, and Ivan stepped out of the car.He scanned his surroundings and reluctantly locked eyes with Felix."Felix Zeller! What are you doing here!"As per Winston's instructions, Ivan was here to pick up someone dressed entirely in

Xena couldn't believe her eyes. Ivan had gone out to welcome the miracle doctor, and there was no way the Cameron family would get something so important wrong. Didn't this mean that Felix was the miracle doctor? How could that be? Felix was so young, and the legends about the miracle doctor had already been around for decades. The timeline didn't match up.Winston was similarly confused. Who the hell was this guy that Ivan had brought in? Based on his looks alone, he couldn't be the miracle doctor.Felix didn't expect to see Xena around. He frowned when he saw her. "Why are there outsiders around?"Ivan didn't dare say anything—he knew he was bound to upset someone, no matter what he said. More importantly, he couldn't afford to offend any of the people present.Having outsiders around after summoning the miracle doctor with the Miracle Card was against the rules. Xander had been present at the Kinsley residence, but that was fine because he was also a healer."An outsider?" Xen

Michael raised his glass and said, "George is right. Here's to you both. I hope you enjoy your time in Aleshire, and don't hesitate to ask if you need anything." He knew exactly why these two were here—they were attending his wedding tomorrow. However, given they were at The Nightowl, an upscale nightclub, he figured it was best not to bring it up.Ryan and George raised their glasses in response, but Felix remained motionless. His indifference seriously irritated Michael."I don't believe we've met. Who might you be?" Michael's youthful pride got the better of him. He could have just finished his drink and left, but he felt the need to assert himself. He could not let this slide, and he wondered who Felix thought he was to disrespect him like this. "I'm Felix Zeller. I'm no one important, but here's a word of advice—if you're planning to get married, show some respect for each other, alright?"Michael could not believe Felix was actually lecturing him. What? Calista, who was about to tell the three hostesses to sit down, froze mid-smile. Felix's words carried an unmistakable challenge.Ryan and George exchanged knowing looks. Of all the people to clash with in Aleshire, it had to be the Walsh family. They knew Felix's true purpose here. "Do you... still want Sadie?" Chewing watermelon, Felix crossed his legs. "Yes, only Sadie. Pass a message to Mr. Walsh. If he's smart, send her over."As Calista hesitated, George's cold voice cut in, "Are you deaf or lame?" "Right away!"The manager knew her customers well. Some big shots could be managed, but others were untouchable. George and Ryan belonged to the latter category. "Do you need backup, Mr. Zeller?" George asked after Calista left, making the other girls hold their breath. In Aleshire, few dared cross the Walsh family. The girls could not believe they met people who dared to do so today."We're civilized, aren't we? But can you guess which Walsh it is?" Ryan answer

Was Yvonne really trying to send a reminder to Felix? It was unnecessary. He had not forgotten his promise to her at Ernest's birthday party. Though Felix would not dare claim Yvonne as his, they had been intimate, and her feelings were obvious. If he could not marry her, he could at least let her choose her own happiness instead of being controlled by Nala. They reached Aleshire at sunset. George led Felix to a nightclub. "Yartford is the political center of the country, so certain things have to be done discreetly there. But Aleshire's different. Tonight, you'll see real entertainment." Felix was not particularly interested, but he had time to kill. "The Nightowl is Aleshire's finest club. No one dares claim second place." Inside, hostesses with curvy legs lined the entrance. "Mr. Zimmerman! It's been too long!" A youthful-looking older woman approached. Her light makeup showed how confident she was about her appearance rather than courage. "Ah, Calista! Still stunning

After settling Michelle in, Felix headed to the living room. He hesitated for a bit before calling Karina. Max's authority over Meadowspring villagers was beyond his current powerless state. But with Michelle's safety at stake, he had no choice. Soon, the call was connected. "Felix, what's wrong?" Felix felt guilty about failing his promise. "Karina, about Michelle..." After hearing the story, Karina said, "Pearly? I don't know her, but I'll look into it. Don't worry. I'll make sure she never troubles Michelle again." She added, "Don't blame yourself. I know your situation is complicated." It was complicated indeed.…Two peaceful weeks passed. Felix continued his daily ritual of cultivating Dragonspine at Yardley Dining, undisturbed by the Elders' Council or others. True to Karina's word, the threat vanished. If not, Max would not have waited this long given his menacing attitude earlier. His only frustration was Xena. Even Alistair confirmed she had been swamped since

From that observation, Felix could tell how incredibly powerful the Saphira family had to be as one of the ancient martial arts families. Once in the car, Felix paused before saying, "Was the chief pointing at me?" Ryland was too distracted, and Michelle was still unconscious, so Theodore nodded. "Yes. He meant you." Theodore was still stunned. The village chief was practically a Martial Emperor, and he actually owed Felix his life. What other secrets did Felix hold? Felix fell silent as he recalled the scene just now. Under the torchlight, he remembered the chief had tanned skin, average height, and a small goatee. "It's him!" Felix suddenly remembered who he was. When Felix had just started studying medicine with Gerald years ago, he had found the chief unconscious while gathering herbs. The man was close to dying, and Felix's limited skills could only slow the decline. It was impossible to save him. In the end, Gerald had stepped in. He cursed Felix's do-gooder nature

Ryland's face paled as his eyes widened. "She... She's alive?" Max grinned. "Watch your mouth, kid. How could my boss possibly have died? You disappointed her, and those who disappoint must pay." Pointing at Felix, he continued, "The original plan was to drug him and Michelle and film their affair to crush you emotionally before dealing with you physically. But he seemed to be a traditional medicine practitioner, so he noticed the drugs. We had no choice but to attack first." Ryland looked devastated. "No, I waited! She never appeared. I couldn't possibly wait forever. It's not my fault!" "Let's go," Felix cut in, knowing this wasn't the time. "Going somewhere?" Max threw a knife into the ground before Ryland. "Kill your girlfriend Michelle, and all is forgiven!"Ryland stood frozen, clearly shaken by the mention of that woman Pearly. "What if he refuses?" Felix asked. Max traced a circle in the air. Outside the bar, members of the Earthen Hall were waiting. Vivian had returned to the headquarters of Dragon Alliance hours ago to handle urgent matters, so these guards had been reassigned from Yardley Dining. As they drove, Theodore suddenly spoke up, "Now I remember why Meadowspring sounded familiar." "What do you mean?" Felix asked. The address the brute left was called Meadowspring, an oddly named place. "It's a branch village of the Saphira family. We need to be extremely careful." His voice alone showed how wary he was of the Saphiras."Are they that dangerous?" Theodore gave Felix a strange look, wondering how someone important enough to mobilize Dragon Alliance could be so ignorant. "Eight ancient martial arts families have survived in modern Dragonia, with one in each province's capital. We have one in Canraville, which is the Saphira family." Seeing Felix's blank look, Theodore continued, "These eight families have maintained their power for thousands of years. H

Felix watched as the brute took Michelle away. He wanted to move but was paralyzed by the man's overwhelming presence. After a minute, his face darkened. "Damn it!" Even his encounter with Madam Spring had not left him feeling this powerless. If anything were to happen to Michelle, Felix wouldn't have the heart to face Karina. 30 minutes later, the bar was empty except for Felix. Andrei rushed in with a handsome young man. "Mr. Zeller." Andrei kicked the young man to the ground after speaking, trembling with rage. "Tell Mr. Zeller how you mistreated Michelle, you fool!"It was his son, Ryland. After Felix's last intervention, Andrei had warned him not to hurt Michelle or risk trouble for their entire family. Yet, here they were. Ryland looked at Felix in panic and confusion. "Dad! Finnley laughed. "Hah! You're quite well-informed. You even know about my brother's wedding! But you're overestimating yourself. Did you think I'm all talk because I haven't struck you in our previous encounters?" He stepped forward with eyes full of contempt. "That's only because Xena warned me. She said she'd blame me if anything happened to you—proof or not—and never give me another chance. Otherwise, you think you'd still be standing?" Felix's eyes narrowed. He had wondered why Finnley—the Walsh family's heir—had been so restrained. So, Xena had intervened."Fine! One last chance. If you can make me kneel and apologize at my brother's wedding, it's over. Otherwise, you'll write a suicide note and end it. Deal?" Suicide? Felix chuckled. "Sure. What if I back out?" Turning away, Finnley left a final threat. "Then, everyone connected to you dies. You know I can do it." After learning Finnley's identity, Felix deduced that Yvonne's fiancé had to be his brother. There was onl
