Melissa's POV “Mom?” I called out as I stepped into my mother's room, but I was only met with silence. The room was strangely quiet, the bed neatly made and that would only mean that she didn't sleep here last night, because if she did, the bed wouldn't still be made up by this time. My heart sank! The walls of the room were white and the room was filled with the scent of antiseptic and at once I knew that I was in a hospital. Wait a minute! How did I end up here?
