Life Saver

“Boss, we have a problem” he says to roger who was almost pressing the trigger to finish Valentine off. Roger turns his head still aiming his crossbar at Valentine. He looks back at the carriage and realizes his most precious slave was missing, he couldn’t believe any of this was happening.

“You fools, how could she escape right in front of your eyes, are you all blind?” he barks at them.

“Don’t just stand there, get out there and find her!!!” Rogers yells at them.

“But sir, its becoming so misty, wont that be dangerous at all” one of the humans says to him, he turns and looks at him.

“I would rather loose you idiots than loose one million” he says to them meanly.

“Sir!!!” one of them stammers.

“Whaaat!!!”

“Behind you!!” he says pointing behind rogers, rogers did not want to turn and look since he could already feel the rage, his breathing was accompanied with so much anger and no matter how hard he tried to prevent himself turning, he finally turns his head and what he sees scares him to death, a big grey wolf was fuming in anger right on his face, growling loudly starring at him with its yellow scary eyes, Cadis, the big mighty wolf was filled with so much rage, he roars loudly at his face and everyone else start firing at him, he holds rogers up in the air and uses him as a weapon throwing him knocking out all his team, he stand on the ground unmoved as he scans the entire area for his mate but she was nowhere to be seen, he fights the human slavers using his sharp claws knocking them side to side one by one, he rips their necks of in anger until not even a single one of them stood on their feet.

The slaves were scared for their lives but cadis wouldn’t harm an innocent human, his teeth dripped with fresh human blood as he sniffed around following the scent of his mate.

“This is pointless” he says to Valentine.

“We were trying to save her now she is gone, who does that” Cadis says again but gets no response.

“Please help us, free us and we will show you which way she followed” a female voice comes from one of the carriages, Cadis turns to look and sees a young lady hiding at the end of the carriage, he slowly shifts and lets Valentine take control even though he was still weakened by the wound from the second arrow. The slaves are so shocked by what they see and they all move away from the door as he approaches them.

“Well that was quite a challenge, who shot that arrow Cadis” Valentine says as he fully takes his human form.

“That idiot over there” he says and Valentine turns to look.

“You ripped off his neck!” Valentine asks in shock.

“Youre so welcomed” cadis says and Valentine assumes him and turns back to the slaves.

“Whats your name?” he asks as he picks his hat from the ground.

“My name is Milly, I saw her escape to the woods over there” she says and points.

“You saw that buddy, it seems our mate is on the run, I hope you will be able to find her this time”  says as he tries opening the door, he knocks out the door and it loosens up.

“Youre now free like a bird” he says to every one of them as he opens the carriages.

“We should be going, its becoming more unsafe Valentine” Cadis says to him.

“So what do we do with this people” he asks.

“They are now free, lets go we don’t have time” cadis replies without hesitating, Valentine gives them one last look knowing very well that they will be dead before sunrise, he didn’t know whether to chase after their mate or save them.

“Don’t you even think about that you idiot, you know the humans don’t love us, they say we are evil, you want to risk our own life saving them yet they wouldn’t do the same?” cadis asks realizing Valentine was hesitating.

“Stay behind me, whatever happens don’t stop walking until we get somewhere safe okay” he says to them and they all nod in agreement. He starts walking as they follow, leaving the wagons in the middle of the pathway, Valentine chooses to lead the human slaves to safety out of the dead forest despite everything the humans have done to him.

He walks clearing the way and they come to a swampy area, the moon reflected on the cold water that was filled with grass on some other parts.

“Carefull now, I hear the water is infested with scary alligators, watch your steps, be silent, they don’t like so much noise at this time of the night we are going to cross by” he stops and says to them.

“Youre such a dummy” cadis says to him but he ignores him, he gets in the water and waits for them to follow , he slowly watches his steps as they follow behind him carefully, a frog jumps into the water and  Milly screams out loudly, Valentine quickly runs and covers her mouth.

“Shhhhhhhh, its only a frog, youre gonna get your friends killed” he whispers to her.

“Im sorry, i couldnt just handle it” she whispers back.

"Stay quite if you want to live okay"

"Yeah" She answers still shaking, Valentine goes ahead and crosses by as they walk out of the water too but an alligator swims silently behind Milly ready to strike her.

“Watch oout!!!” he shouts as Milly gets out of the water but a crossbow runs through the alligators wide mouth, Emma slowly walks out of the bushes holding a crossbow, shivering from the cold, she slowly walks towards them.

“That’s a million worth of aim she got there” Cadis says.

“Shut up Cadis”
