1. Rejected Ritchelle

"I, King Michael Veruz of Kingdom Edington, reject you, Queen Ritchelle Amanda Louvre, as my mate."

When the king announced the sudden rejection, the people of Edington started to wonder why he would reject such a wonderful and kind queen.

Queen Ritchelle and King Michael's marriage wasn't based on love but because of Michael's desire for power.

Ritchelle came from an influential family of nobles. But as soon as her father died, the essence of their marriage started to drift away.

Not to deny that the Kingdom of Edington became more powerful and prominent because of Ritchelle.

"No, you can't do this to me!" Ritchelle screamed at the top of her lungs as grief and rage were embedded on her beautiful face.

She is a woman of words. A Queen Luna who inherited the intelligent mind of her father and the astounding beauty of her mother. Her eyes are the color of the grains of sand being penetrated by sunlight, and her skin is as soft as a cloud. Her hair is as black as the dark night but sparkles like the stars.

"The Kingdom of Edington suppresses you, Rithcelle Amanda Louvre, as Queen Luna. Henceforth, may you find a place you truly belong."

The Alpha King removed the red diamond crown from Ritchelle as she tried to fathom everything that had just happened. A face of confusion and pain was plastered on her very angelic face.

Not quite later, Ritchelle cried a river of tears. She loved Michael so much. All her life, she thought he loved her too.

But those are just in her imagination.

Her mate never loved her and never will love her.

They don't have that mate bond that two fated werewolves feel. That's because Michael had been faking it ever since the beginning of time.

He only wanted power and influence from Ritchelle because of her family.

Kingdom Edington became the most powerful Kingdom of all the other kingdoms in the werewolf realm—and that's because of Ritchelle Amanda Louvre.

"I can't believe you are dethroning and rejecting me, Michael. Is this because of your concubine?!" Ritchelle yelled at Michael. Her voice cracked as she stammered. It seemed like the pain in her heart had reached her larynx.

The people started to whisper and murmur around them. They didn't know about the king having an affair.

Michael glanced at all the mumbling commoners, and for the last time, Michael slapped Ritchelle on her right cheek. He was filled with too much rage. Everyone inside the palace gasped when they saw such a scene.

This abuse had been going on for years after they got married. A new bruise and scar appear on Ritchelle's body every single day. She got used to it. But Ritchelle chose to stay with Michael because of the Kingdom and her people.

She took all the abuse and pain because she adored her people. She couldn't leave the Kingdom of Edington.

"TAKE HER AWAY!" Michael yelled in a loud and authoritative voice. A voice that is powerful enough to order a lion around.

The royal guards immediately grabbed Ritchelle in both her arms. They pulled her outside the castle as she begged everyone to let her stay.

Ritchelle wailed and wailed like a child begging her mother not to leave. 

She couldn't believe that everyone had just betrayed her like that. But who is there to blame? Commoners will always side with who's the more powerful one.

Still, she didn't have any hate towards the people and werewolves of Edington. They will always be her people, and she will love and care for them even when she isn't the Queen anymore.

The guards take Ritchelle deep into the dark forests where most of the monsters and cursed spirits dwell. Ritchelle immediately knew they were planning on killing her.

She accepted her fate. Everything that happened became too complicated and harsh for her to behold. Even what just happened hasn't even sunk into her yet.

"What did the king tell us to do?" One of the guards asked his comrades.

"He commanded us to kill the queen!" another guard replied.

"D-do you really hate me?" Ritchelle spoke, stuttering. She wasn't looking at the guards, but at the ground. Her tears kept falling.

"We're sorry, my Queen. This is just the king's command."

Instead of stabbing Ritchelle, they just left her in the deepest section of the forest where the strongest cursed spirits lurk. The guards thought she would get killed if they left her there.

Immediately after the guards left, Ritchelle was attacked by a cursed spirit. This spirit was a big and dark smoke with an obnoxious face. It kept laughing when it saw Ritchelle. Rithcelle tried to move away, but when the spirit jumped into her, she fell to the ground and bumped her head on a rock. She bled until she became unconscious.

During that time, she remembered all her memories of the Kingdom. All her sacrifices went in vain.

Her husband betrayed her and didn't love her as much as she loved him.

She hoped that the new Queen of Edington would continue her legacy when she died.

She prayed that Michael's concubine—his soon-to-be wife and mate, would be a queen of dignity and honor.

And she accepted her fate as the cursed spirit engulfed her.

"Until we meet again, Edington."

Days passed in Edington like nothing had happened. As soon as Ritchelle was dethroned, a new queen was crowned. Commoners and nobles started to speculate whether the rumor was true—that the new Queen Luna, was the king's concubine.

But rumors passed as to how time flew. In the end, it will all be in the past.

Some people still haven't moved on with the sudden banishment of their former Queen, Ritchelle. Commoners and nobles loved her because of her work and determination. She was a remarkable queen, after all.

But they have no choice but to support the new Queen as well.

Five years passed like a running horse.

The first two years of the Veruz family's reign were a blast, but everything became chaotic as soon as the third and fourth years came.

Women and children were being killed because the Alpha King only wanted the strongest people—and he believed they were men and those with power.

Only nobles and people with power were allowed to survive. Commoners are either killed or banished from the Kingdom.

The Kingdom of Edington is slowly turning into a place of ruins.

Inequality and an unjust system are what everyone in the lower class receives. Only the upper-class and nobles got huge benefits from the Kingdom.

The few remaining commoners started to rebel against the Kingdom. They tried to fight back, but they lost.

Until they just accepted their fate like the former Queen Luna—Ritchelle.

They just hoped that Kingdom Edington would be back from being a peaceful and decadent empire one day.

Or that a time will come when Ritchelle Amanda Louvre will reclaim Kingdom Edington.

Oh, how they wished for that day to come.

And that day is nigh.
