-Audrey's POV-

I felt like I was being held down by invisible heavy objects which stopped me from being able to move my body around.

My body hurt, and even my head felt as though it was being split into two by some sort of external force.

My eyes opened slowly and I gasped when I noticed that I had been clasped with chains, and that those chains led to a spot on the cold cemented floor that I couldn’t see due to how dark it was in here.

My body ached fervently and my body shook with cold but there was nothing I could do as I couldn't even lift up my hand.

The cold was eating me up slowly. I was freezing. The air coming out from my nostrils were chilling and I needed to do something before I die.

The happenings of the previous time I was awake flashed through my memory. I panted heavily as I remembered it. Fear gripped my heart and my eyes widened in horror. This place was terror itself. It was like a graveyard.

It was lonely, dark and will make your intestines twist. I developed

-Kaden POV-The environment was tense as I watched as the pack doctor quietly attended to Shantel who was barely breathing as it is. She looked pale, and almost dead but I said nothing as I folded my arms around my chest while my mind wandered around. I didn’t need to say something as negative as that."I found traces of poison in her blood," he revealed and I gasped. “So now it is obvious that she was poisoned…”“And from the test results carried out on her, she was also overdosed with meth,” he added, making me gasp.Who the hell did all these?"Poison and meth? How's that even possible?" I asked. This was too much. How would Shantel decide to take poison? Was she high?“I feel she was overdosed with meth to make her seem high and then the poison…” Adler said and I watched the doctor nod his head slowly. That was probably the way it also stemmed from his results."She had been forcefully made to ingest a poisonous substance which had led to a miscarriage," he added, showing me a p

Audrey's POVThe rumbling of my stomach made me so uncomfortable that I even found it quite difficult to sit upright. Being weak and hungry at the same time is a death sentence. I held my stomach as I groaned in pain. My eyes glanced around the place looking for what to use to suppress the hunger.I was sprawled on the floor, defenseless, hoping that someone would come to my aid. My eyes stung painfully as I struggled to fight back the tears but they still leaked out of my eyes.“Crying won't give me food nor strength” I whispered to myself, wiping off the stray tears that had leaked out of my eye.I didn't have the courage to call upon the moon goddess, I even couldn’t because she had refused to answer me the time I called. Maybe she desires to see me suffer.I was still holding my stomach tight as my intestines twisted painfully as if there were large worms in it that had begun eating up the walls of my stomach. While I laid on the floor, I heard the door open and a young abductor

Audrey's POVIt was still dark in here but I knew that hours had fleeted past. I laid still on the cold floor with my eyes partly opened, just in case something was about to happen to me.My stomach growled in protest as well as hunger set in and I couldn’t help but feel regret at the fact that I had refused to eat the food that I had been given earlier.I was confused as to what to do or how to get myself out of here. Everything felt bleak and even my mind was so blank, I couldn’t make out anything. My eyes caught sight of the food I had discarded earlier and held. At first I wanted to look away from it but my starved stomach wouldn't let me make such a rash decision. Reaching towards the now stale food that had been discarded beside me, I took some of it and pushed it into my hand. The foul smell from the food made me close my nose with my other hand. I pushed the food down my throat as I didn't have any other choice, whilst making sure that my teeth didn't touch the food. The sm

Kaden's POVThe air in here was so suffocating and so tense that you could literally feel the texture of its tensenes. It's been some days now since Audrey has been kidnapped without a trace of her and it annoyed me as much as it scared me.I needed to do something, to find her and as it is, I do not have any leads as to where to begin looking for her from as I had no clues about where she could be.I have been having some deep thoughts about this issue and there was only one thing I got from it; It was obvious that Shantel wasn't the culprit and she didn't have a hand in Audrey's kidnapping.Even Erik, who seemed like a probable suspect, had nothing against Audrey… At least she wasn’t the one pregnant with my “baby” and wasn’t the one causing an obstruction between him and getting the throne.I could pin him for Shantel’s situation but not Audrey’s.Suddenly, I was overwhelmed with a kind of fear I hadn’t felt in a long time. It made me shiver and filled me with several negative tho

Kaden's POVWith Adler by my side, I stepped into the pack hospital. I was still not aware of what the bad news may be but I was sure interested in knowing. My thoughts wandered off to Audrey but I shook it off, knowing fully well that it wasn’t her, and couldn’t help but wonder if it had something to do with Shantel. I shook my head."You should slow down, your highness, and stop thinking the things you’re thinking" Adler cautioned, trying to keep up with my pace. I brushed what he said off as I literally began sprinting down the hospital halls and when he saw I wasn't relenting, he pursued after me and soon, we were even; Adler was by my side as I ran down the airy passage.Soon, we arrived at Shantel's room so we could check on her and I couldn’t help but feel dread as the door creaked open. The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was the fact that she was sprawled on the bed, looking as though the world had come crashing down right on top of her. Her face was pa

Audrey's POVI jolted up from my sleep when I felt a splash of water on my head and opened my eyes in horror when I caught sight of the scary looking men standing right in front of me with jeering expressions on their faces. My cloth was drenched with water and some droplets found their way inside my ear, momentarily deafening me. One of the scary looking men roughly pulled me to my feet with his mighty calloused hands and dragged me around like I didn’t weigh more than a rag doll.I felt insulted and it infuriated me but I kept my mouth shut in order to find out first what was happening to me before I took my chances."Where are you taking me?" I asked them but instead of an answer, a slap went across my face, making me stagger for a minute. One of the other men looked at me angrily and my face burned."You are not expected to utter a word," he thundered and I kept shut.I would deal with you later.I listened to them talk about taking me to someplace safer, for some reasons best kn

Chapter 57Audrey’s POV"What do you think you are doing?" One of them yelled at me when I jumped into the ground, clenching my hands into a fist in preparation for a fight.“I’d show you what I think I’m trying to do when you try to lay a finger on me.” I challenged them and all I got in return were their sarcastic laughter that filled the air. They didn’t believe me…"You want to die?" A man with a bald head asked me. I didn't wait to answer him.He probably took my silence for cowardice and rushed towards me in a bid to scare me but before he could lay a finger on me, I punched him hard in his stomach until I could hear the rumbling sound it made from the impact. My powers filled the veins in my body like never before. I was breathing fire and anyone coming close to me is going to get consumed by it.The bald man fell onto the ground, hitting his head on a rock. I sneered and turned around, throwing my legs into the air. I could sense some fear in them but they didn't seem like

Kaden’s POV:I quickly jumped up, drenched in my own sweat and shaking as the images from my dream kept replaying itself repeatedly in my mind’s eyes like a broken stereotape.I had seen Audrey again, and seen the blood moon almost exactly the same way I saw it the last time I dreamt it.This time, she was just beneath the bleeding moon and drenched in blood. I had tried calling out to her several times but surprisingly, I couldn’t find my voice. It felt weird, and oddly strange that I had suddenly gone dumb, and to make matters worse, it almost seemed like I was getting squeezed by some imaginary forces.I tried moving my limbs too as my mouth could no longer speak but instead ended up falling into the dirt like an infant still learning to walk.In my confused state, I watched as a large black bird suddenly dropped from the sky, picked up Audrey and flew away almost immediately like she didn’t weigh much.I cried, thrashing as I fought against the invisible forces holding me down. With my hands planted firmly on my waist, I stared confusedly at the two crying babies in front of me and no matter what I did or said to calm them down, nothing seemed to be working. Seemingly Lost in confusion and not knowing what to do, I tried hard to comfort the crying babies in front of me but they instead laid, crying tirelessly that at a point, I did not know what else to do for they could not stop crying. I carried one of them in my arms and began to rock it gently, the other laid in the crib built for the two babies. I continued this way, giving turns to each of them as I held them in my arms attempting to get them to fall asleep but they wouldn’t. That did little to make them quit though and I grew frustrated but I knew I could not give up. I had tons of work to do, a lot of paperwork also and the thought of attending to those immediately after dropping these kids filled me with so much tiredness that I felt I would drop dead. Since the takeover from Jacob, there

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 122

Audrey's POVFeeling happy and fulfilled that I had fulfilled my words and that I had been able to Kill Jacob in the exact way I had imagined it, I smiled to myself thinking of how this was the first time I felt like I had done something worth deserving as I stared down at his decapitated body which was now covered in a of his own blood, and could vividly see the hole I made on his heart.A smile got stuck on my lips and I couldn't let it go. I allowed it, wondering why Ian had this weird stare on me."You finally killed the predator, after being the prey for so long. You're taking over the predator's land." I muttered to myself as I stared at his blood dripping neck, making trails as I walked, I wanted them to see that I had killed Jacob and ended his reign of terror and destruction.I walked out to the corridor where she listened to the silent gasps and the scared look on the faces of the people.I held the head in my hands and showed it to the people."This marks the end of this he

Audrey's POVI knew Jacob was a bit surprised that I had smiles all over my face, despite the fact that he had a knife pressed on my neck.He was a bit stubborn and I wondered what I would say to him that would make him move the knife away from my neck despite all the white lies I had told him. It was a little confusing to watch him and the cynical smile on his face and at the same time, I was bothered because I knew he was psychotic and could do anything."You could just remove this knife, I would surely guarantee your safety." I said quietly as he pressed the knife deeper into my neck, it was hurting but I couldn't let out a tear, knowing that it would mean defeat and I hated being defeated by clumsy enemies such as Jacob. "Do you expect me to believe you?" He retorted sharply as he pressed the knife, adding a little force to it. When he wasn’t watching, I tilted my head slowly, in a bid to pull my neck away from the sharp blade. "Come on, you have my word, I would surely beg Kad

Kaden's POVI loved the fact that Logan had to turn against his pack, knowing fully well that Jacob turned them against him. Having killed some of his men, Logan grew tired of killing and felt like setting it amicably. They surrounded him as he let down his guard, he told his men to do the same as they all stopped fighting, Jacob's soldiers were afraid, I guess filled with that thought that they were just leading them to a trap."Why won't you fight us?" The Chief guard questioned as the guard paved the way for him to walk through. "I can't, we can keep on wasting our strength on each other when the real devil is up there watching us." Logan explained, wondering how Logan tends to make this work, it would be hard and it might get ugly. "What do you mean?" The Chief guard was confused. "Jacob is a man that would surely have you all killed if need be. He wouldn't hesitate to threaten the lives of your family if you dare flout his orders" Logan uttered, wearing a smile on his face, ho

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 119

Kaden's POVI felt uneasy, knowing that I had my reservations with Audrey's plot, but I had to give in, she had it all planned out and now that I thought about it, mine had loopholes. If we had attacked Jacob as I planned, he would have escaped or better still led us into one of his unforseen traps which would leave us in jeopardy; harming my men, weakening my manpower and having a strong hold on my resources. But with Audrey's plot, she handles on the inside, while we take care of his men outside which would make everything even and provide Jacob with an extremely slim chance of escaping or having to use someone as bait while trying to escape. "I just hope Audrey succeeds with her plan, I'll take care of these ones here with my own plan," I muttered to myself, knowing that my men were also waiting for my signal.I assured myself, rigging off every fear and trying to remain at peace as I waited for a signal to show that Audrey was in trouble. For now though, I hadn't felt any pa

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 118

AUDREY’S POVI waited for Jacob’s reply to my sarcastic but true comment about the palace but it did not come, the intent of it had not fazed him a bit I noticed and I began to wonder what went on through his mischievous mind. Jacob gently placed his arm around my back and I flinched at the feel of his strong arms around me but let him guide me to a chair close to his throne. Surprisingly he had not still said anything in reply to the view I had concerning the place, perhaps he had sensed the sarcasm in my voice even though I suspected that he knew what I said was true. He acted really sweet towards me while I acted according to the script I was writing in my mind.I sat down calmly on the chair he had offered me and he sat on the enormous throne. We started to talk and he asked about my trip there, asking if I had any troubles on my way. I sweetly replied to him, not forgetting to remind him of how I was capable of taking care of myself. I wondered why he and Kaden always felt that

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 117

Audrey’s POVDespite the anger I felt coursing through my veins and spiking up my nerves, I managed to force a smile as the soldier who stood guard at the door to the throne room opened the huge doors for me to pass through. I stepped into the room slowly as if expecting to be met with some kind of trap and then stopped at some point to take my first real glance at the expanse of the room and the striking view ahead of me. I marveled at the sheer beauty it emitted but couldn’t help but think about how it had lost its shine. The palace, even though ancient as it was, was one of the most mesmerizing views I had ever had the pleasure of seeing. It looked different from what I remembered it to be; the structures were getting old, the decorations were fading out, and what made the room gorgeous most was no longer there – the glitter of people laughing and cheering happily nonstop, in love and harmony. The memory of how the palace used to be filled with love and glamor when it was still m

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 116

Audrey's POVI sat with my hands folded in front of me as I had become more than a little tense due to how much I was wondering what Kaden wanted to tell me that made him keep me in a weird suspense. I hated the fact that my heart raced, hoping that the news wouldn't affect me, or have anything to do with Kaden or Shantel but then from the expression on his face, it was difficult to ascertain if the news coming was a bad one or a good one. I gulped.Filling my head with irrelevant thoughts, I was getting confused as I felt someone holding my left palm, Shantel tilted her head upwards and down, assuring me that all would be fine. I hearkened to her with the evidence of doubt still writhing in me."You're making me uneasy, what is it that you wanted to tell me?" I stuttered as Kaden bowed his head down as he said in a low tone;"I can't tell you, when she's around. She has to leave us, it's personal and urgent.""That won't be possible, Shantel says. If I deserve to listen to this new

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 115

Audrey's POVI hated the fact that I had soiled my fingers trying to take down a guard, knowing that this was a test to show my strength and skills which I knew I didn't have. I just wanted to be able to fight off my enemies with my hands and legs in combat, which would be to my advantage and would come in handy whenever I would need to protect myself, knowing fully well that this was dark times and that Kaden's soldiers were dying in their numbers. It was hard to believe it, but they would just go missing and their dead body would be found, wondering what he was planning or his plans on how to catch this culprit that has murdered many men. I knew this was a plot to reduce Kaden's man power, and it was working effectively. Jacob knew this, and was using it to his advantage. "You're doing quite well, keep it up" Shantel said to me even though I knew I wasn’t doing any good. I knew that she was only being helpful, the smile on her face said the words she was hiding.
