The Next Day - At The Complex

George arrived that morning and looked sternly at Laura without minding whether she noticed him or not. Everyone was surprised and paused to know his reasons for such a look. Likewise, Laura died and was resurrected when their eyes met.

'If not that she is our gold mine, I would have court marshaled her,' he said and moved on.

Now, Laura was drenched with sweat. She watched him until he got up into the lift. When the gates closed, she breathed freely. Others shook their heads in sympathy for her and went back to work.

Meanwhile, Tim and George had agreed to visit the boys after work but Tim arrived earlier than necessary. To avoid suspicions like the other day, he visited George's office and met him smiling happily.

“What is it? Did you win a jackpot?” He asked after the greetings.

“It is not far from that. I got a letter from the Promotion Board.”

Although Tim expected that there would be a promotion for the year. Considering his age and the number of ye

They were filled with guilt for being the only parents around to disturb.“Are you sure that this is good?” Tim asked him.“I know that it is not good. I wish to see them as well,” he said and called the Housemaster. The phone began to ring, and they waited anxiously for the Sergeant to pick up his call. Eventually, it timed out.“He must be busy,” he pointed out.“I can call Gerald and he will fish him out from wherever he is,” George proposed.“Let me try again. If he fails to pick up, we will call Gerald.”He tried to do that but the Sergeant's call interrupted his. His face beamed with joy and he looked at George's smiling face.“He is calling back.”“Yes,” he said and received the call.“Good evening, Tim. How is work?”“Good evening, Sgt. Dotson. My work is fine. A Few Weeks LaterThe two officers that Tim recommended for promotion had been invited by the Board and he was happy. The thought that George would be promoted as well gave him more joy and a sense of accomplishment.“Grandfather would be happy to hear this,” he said to himself.Nevertheless, the Supreme Military Council had eyes on the Auxiliary Armory PLC as one of the Economic Power House of the country. The discovery of the precious stones was no mean feat, and they recommended the Accountant, and he was happy. Now, Lt. Col. Ben Smirnoff had been waiting patiently for an invitation letter from the Promotion Board but got none. He was not too bothered about it until he learned that the Commandant was invited. His breath almost ceased out of anger. He stared at the wall for a long time before he asked himself, “Why would he be invited without me? He is at it again. That was how he got to his present position after I informed him.”Nevertheless, he has not spoken with him since the

The old man's eyes showed fear and Tim continued, “We kept many things away from you because they may be too many for you to digest at the same time.”“Why would he do that? I have not offended him. I thought he was standing in for me because I was temporarily incapacitated.”“You don't need to offend people before they envy what you have. Like I said, we kept many things away from you. Take a look at this,” he said and swiped his phone to the video of the fake Duke's confession.(You are right but I just recalled that in addition to praying for him to die, I teamed up with Cecilia and planted a poisonous mushroom in his house. As you can see, I worked harder than everyone.)The old man began to sweat immediately after he got the epiphany. He watched the video again and blurted out, “He shamelessly admitted it.”“That is it. We have to be careful. Did you get me?”“Yes. I wouldn't have known this if not for you.”“I got it. Our next step is to make him take his hands off your office.

Tim breathed freely and faced the despondent Head of State and placated him, “Consider it as one of those scandals that are associated with leadership.”“I know but how do I explain it to my wife? Will she ever agree that I am innocent?”No matter how strong a man is, he must have a weakness. Gen. Richmond, who was dreaded by his fellow military Head of State, was afraid of a woman.Tim looked at the Second in Command and he pouted. He faced the Head of State and advised him, “She may not be as distraught as you think. Has she called you?”“That is the problem. She ought to have called to inquire why I have not come home for lunch but she has not,” he explained. They were silent for a while their phones continued to beep with remarks. At The Complex Laura got up and walked to the door like a bulldog. The Corporal and warden gave way for her or she would have pounced on them. With that, she increased her offenses, and Jerry cashed in and whipped her legs with the horsewhip."Repeat after me, Miss Dickson. Say I will not disturb the peace of the complex again," he requested while flogging her."I will never disturb .... Hey!" She stopped and shrieked in pain.Jerry continued to flog her, and she continued to cry and repeat after him."Run for your life before I kill you. Silly girl," he shouted at her and she obeyed. George was happy to see her running out of the cell like a little mouse frightened out of the Queen's chair. She continued running towards the reception when Jerry joined George in the car and he turned on his ignition."Good job, Sergeant," he said and drove off.Nevertheless, she got to the lobby, and the new security team was surprised to see her running like a thief."What! What are you doing here?

He would have called Cpl. Simpson, who was on night duty, to release her, but it would not give him the satisfaction he wanted. Shortly after, he stormed out of his room, got the car keys from the hangar, and walked to the garage. His car alerted Collins and Jerry the moment he turned on his ignition. They walked out of the boys quarters and focused on him."We are going to the complex. Hop in if you are ready," he informed them. They were troubled and did not want to keep him longer than necessary. Jerry was on his khaki pants and camouflage shirt. Collins was putting on the same shirts upon knickers and was not comfortable with it."I will change to trousers," he said and walked away.Jerry got into the front seat, looked at George's sad face, and inquired, "I hope there's no problem?""The boss said we should release that wrench in the guard room.""Ha! You can ask the Corporal to release her," he advised him."I would have done that not until I lay my hands on her, and she would r

He furrowed his brow when he saw her in the kitchen preparing her dinner."Why doesn't she live in a big house and have security guards and a cook like Laura? At least a cook," he thought."Something should be done about it," he concluded. After he left the parlor, George sat on the couch to wait for him. At that point, he got a message from his father. He relaxed and punched on it. A wide smile covered his face while he was reading through it."She will never stay without trouble," he said when he read that Laura was arrested that morning. In the end, he said, "She would soon be working to finance bills that she incurred out of stupidity."At that point, Tim joined him and they walked to the dining table."How was your meeting with the Major General?" "It went well. Empress has grown lean," he pointed out and George was lost."What has Empress got to do with your meeting?" He asked him at once."Oh! I didn't inform you. The meeting was because of them. She fought with her instructor

To extricate herself, she answered at once, "No, Sir.""Then what happened? Don't keep me here longer than I wish," Dale thundered, and she was fear-stricken. "I apologize, Boss. I agreed with her and watched her walk to her husband. When she was sitting with him in the car, I called Mrs Bentley and showed her the two. She was surprised to see them discussing freely. When she returned, Mrs. Bentley did not bother to verify whether it was true or false."She stopped and looked at Richard who had killing intentions on his face. Tim was relishing the story and hated it when she stopped. He hit his hand on the table angrily and shouted at her, "Then what happened?"Although, they were not familiar with Tim's identity they believed that he was an important person to Dale.Instantly, she continued, "She gave her a knife hand strike. Before she could defend herself, she struck her with her shinbone and they began to fight."They focused on Empress who was still looking down. They compared

"I hope she is all right," he said and was restless. Before Tim walked to the foyer, he remembered Dale's summons to Richard's wife. He looked at his time and mumbled, "I would like to be there."He walked to his room and before he settled down, he heard a knock on the door."Come in, the door is not locked," he said, and George walked in with his stoic face."What is the matter. You scared the farmers away with your look," he made clear to him.He smiled weakly and asked him, "Did I? Miss Dickson attacked her colleague and injured her."Tim furrowed and dismissed him, "I have a meeting with Dale. We will talk about it when I return.""I got it, Boss," he said and returned to his room.Tim lay on the bed, breathed heavily, and asked himself, "What is wrong with this girl? We can go together then," he declared. Now, the elevator door opened and they walked out."That is better," the General Manager said and they walked on.Soon, they were at the canteen.
