Shortly after he walked into his office, Brig. Dale walked in.

He stood up immediately and saluted him, “Good morning, Brig. Dale.”

He returned the salute happily and they sat down.

“The President said he needs the photographs and videos of today's lesson since it is our last day.”

“That's good to hear. I need it too.”

“It is okay by me. I will get my secretary to do that right away.”

Instantly, he called on Bright and he arrived. He was about to give his phone to him when he got a message from Tim. He paused and read through it.

(I am at the mall. Do you want me to get a phone for your Dad or will you do that after work? I promise I won't buy a clunker.)

George smiled quietly at his promise and replied.

(Thank you, for this, Boss. He won't even mind the clunker.)

(Okay.)

Afterward, he handed his phone to Bright and instructed him on how to use it and get high-quality video and photographs.

Now, George was holding two guns and looked like the troublemaker. The Mall security guards rushed to the scene and tried to intervene but they were shocked to see a Major holding a rifle and looking at them as though they were entertaining him. They looked at the two and concluded that the Major was calm because the money bag was a pickpocket.“I say kneel,” George shouted and he reluctantly got up and complied.“Remove your jacket,” he ordered.“You will regret …,”George did not give him the grace of completing his threat and hit his head with his gun.“Ouch,” he shrieked aloud.“Shut up and remove your jacket,” he ordered. He locked eyes with him and discovered that he had judged him wrongly. “Remove your jacket,” a security guard lent his voice. He looked at the onlookers and looked down in shame. The security guard who despised the clunker the day Tim bought three expensive phones at the same time just saw the car. To his dismay, he was calm and busy with his phone. Presently,

Bolton walked in after he settled down and informed him of the Cadets.“How many of them are we supposed to absorb?” He asked and pretended as if Bright had not informed him.“We absorb one hundred of them every year.”“That is good to hear. How much stipend do we pay them?”“Nothing. The experience they gain from us is enough for them.”“Don't you think that it is absurd? If we can't encourage them, who will?”The General Manager thought for a while and explained, “I have not given it a thought.”“There is room for improvement. Meanwhile, inform the Corporal to stop collecting more applications.”“I got it. What is our conclusion on the stipend?”“If I may ask, how long is the internship? In our days, it was three months.”“It's still the same.”“It is all right. Let's encourage them with one percent of the senior staff salary. That wouldn't be too much on us for three months.”The General Manager giggled and declared, “I will go back to where I did m

At The President's OfficeGeorge called his father back after he sat down, and they talked about many meaningless things and laughed as well. George was carried away by the conversation that he did not remember his lunch until he got a call from the General Manager.“Okay, Dad. I have to go back to work,” he informed him.“It is all right. Be a good boy,” he remarked.“Boy?” George asked and laughed out loud. The old man laughed too. He was yet to wake up to reality and catch up with the present. To him, George was that small boy who he enrolled in the Canterbury Defense Academy some years ago. “Oh! Pardon me. Be a good soldier,” he apologized and corrected himself.“Better. Enjoy the rest of your day, Dad,” George said and cut the call.He got up immediately and called Capt. Bolton back while walking to the door. He opened it and noticed that Bright was still seated. Tim walked into George's office and they locked eyes. He noticed that he was sad and inquired, “What's up, Boss?”“I don't know how the boys would cope with a new Commandant,” he sat down and responded.“You just said my mind. You should have advised the Second in Command.”“The Head of State distorted his work after he submitted the list to him.”“Ha! He must have his reasons.”“What could be his reason? That was the man responsible for the scandal against him,” Tim blurted out.George was bewildered and he locked eyes with him. After a while, he spoke, “Maybe he wished to disgrace him by sending him to where he cannot function well.”Tim looked at him for a while before he said, “You may be right. I have not thought of that. But he should not joke with the children's studies.”“Let's watch out.”Tim wanted to speak but the door opened and he halted. George smiled when he saw the visitor. Tim turned and saw the General Manager. He got up at once and greeted him, “Good morning, Maj.

I thought he would punish him because of that scandalous post against the school and the government,” Kay stated.“I thought so as well. Does it mean that he is compensating him for working against his government?”Kay walked to his swivel chair and sat down while Tim sat on the visitor's seat and waited for his response.“That is the challenge. He will assume that his act was not discovered.”Tim noticed that he was angry and pacified him, “Don't let it bother you. Just publish the postings.”“Thank you for your conce

He walked in after he left the General Manager's office. Nevertheless, George had been curious to hear the outcome of his visit. He looked at his hand and grimaced his face, “What did he give to you?” He asked him anxiously.“I have not checked it,” he answered and sat down.He brought the gift out of the shopping bag and a smile beamed across his face, “It is a handset,” he announced happily.“Wow! What did you do for him to attract this? I mean what attempted deceit did you foil during the Widow and Widowers Empowerment Program?”Tim laughed and narrated the story. George laughed aloud and pointed out, “Oh! They don't value you but wish to enrich themselves through you.”“Just imagine that but he regretted it. Seeing a supposed ghost will disturb him any time he remembers it.”“You are right. Congratulations on your New Year gif

Tim looked away and his eyes fell on her phone.“Your phone is fine,” he complimented her.She smiled happily and said, “Thank you for the compliment. It was my birthday gift.”“Wow!
