Sgt. Courtney was a perfectionist and tried to imbibe the same in his workers. In addition to the other requirements, he encouraged Ella to prepare herbal soup for the old man and she did. Afterward, she turned it into a food flask.

“Thank you for your advice, Sergeant. I will get going,” she appreciated him.

“I hope they have not sacked her because of yesterday's error?”

“But she has not committed any offense.”

“They should have allowed her to prove herself,” he hissed, ran his hand through his head, and continued to wait.

Nevertheless, Collins was waiting for Ella at the canteen car park. As soon as she walked out with her stuff, he helped her to arrange them on the bus. Subsequently, she sat down and they left. She was not aware that Collins and the old man lived together so, she never bothered to ask about him.
