At The Complex's Lobby

Laura and her angry lawyer had not rested because of the nonchalant attitude of the company over their petition. The lawyer thought that he should be celebrating as the daring Human Rights Activist to dip his hands into the eyes of the company while she imagined that she should have been richer.

Now, Barbara was disturbed with her frequent visits to the toilet each time her phone rang. She had done no work that morning apart from calling and receiving calls while Barbara did all the work.

“You may leave me with no choice but to report you to the authorities if you continue like this,” Barbara warned her when she returned from the toilet for the umpteenth time.

“What is my offense?” She feigned ignorance of her misconduct and asked.

“You will soon find out when the remaining fifty percent of your salary is withheld,” she informed her bluntly.

Laura panicked at the truth but could do nothing to defend herself. She just had to grin and bear it.

“I was only joking.
