“Sure. You can always tell me how you feel,” she declared.

“That is good to hear. What about you? Will you always call to check on me?”

She looked up and saw a strange look on his face. She lowered her gaze and answered, “I will.”

“I like that. You can take my number,” he said and called out his number.

She punched it into her phone, dialed it, and waited for it to ring.

“That is me calling you,” she informed him and he smiled.

“Thank you for this.”

“It is my pleasure,” she said and covered the empty plate.

“Do you wish to leave so early? I thought you were off work?”

“Yes. I have to release the driver.”

“I see. Will you be here tomorrow?”

“Yes. I have a reward for you for washing the flask.”

The old man who had washed clothes and cooked food for Cecelia and she did not appreciate it was surprised that a little gesture could appeal to a woman.

“Reward for me? I can't wait to have it,” he declared enthusiastically.

“I will be back,” she said and got up.
