**Alpha Xavier's POV**

I saw her face go red in anger, and she had this look that let out that she was expecting this.

“Are you being serious right now?” She asked.

“Is anything wrong with paying for my help?” I asked, looking at her with a bemused expression on my face.

“I don't understand. Does someone who claims to be a leader ask his subject to pay for the help they're entitled to?” She folded her hands.

I chuckled, still rolling her hair in my hands. “Are you my subject? You're just a slave.” Was my reply, and I could see her face fall.

She sighed and slowly brought my hands down from her hair. “So, slaves mean nothing to you, right? You know, since you started treating me this way, I realized that dying a rogue would have been death. I prefer death to your ill-treatment, Alpha Xavier!” She snapped.

I didn't understand why, but I felt a bit pained just seeing her that way. This pain was synonymous to the one I felt when I heard her telling Arnold about all that had been going on
