Chapter 156

*Author's POV*

The nurse led Arnold and Sandra into Scarlett's ward and when they entered, Sandra immediately broke into tears while staring at Scarlett, who lay unconscious on the hospital bed.

She had an oxygen tube sticking from her mouth and her skin was a sickly color. Even though she was asleep, they could see her chest rising and falling slowly.

Xavier himself couldn't stand seeing Scarlett like that, helpless and alone. He was already feeling anxious about the whole ordeal. Seeing her looking so lifeless and frail made him want to punch something.

"Scarlett!" Sandra cried as she rushed to her side. "Oh my goodness, what happened to her?" She sobbed even harder.

Xavier sighed deeply, he just couldn't find the strength to say anything.

Arnold went to stand beside Xavier and he placed a hand on his shoulder, while staring at Scarlett, he can tell how Xavier must be feeling right now, seeing Scarlett like this won't be at all easy for him.

"She'll be fine." He said softly.
