I blinked rapidly when those words left his mouth. This man sure thinks I'm a fool. Like what the fuck? Did he think I forgave him because I had nothing else to do?

“What did you just say?” I asked to be sure. Maybe, I didn't hear what he said the first time.

“I want you back in my life, Scarlett.” He declared.

“I wasn't in your life before, Michael.” I corrected him. The day I found out that he was my mate was the same way he broke my heart into pieces.
