Amante POV

Allyssa, as expected, did not come to welcome me during our timely arrival back in Lausanne mansion. She stubbornly stayed inside her room. I had been lenient and tried to succumb to all her pleadings for quite some time. It has been a month since I last saw her face.

I terribly miss her. It was too intense that I dare stomp my way inside her room. I smashed her door, regardless of the tiny voice of insecurity that waved at my temporary insanity. Nobody dared to stop me, not even Amaltheo.

I saw her sitting luxuriously in her golden couch with a book in her hands. I know she was acting like she was focused on her reading when I saw the side of her lips quivered along with the restlessness of her iris.

Nothing matters to me anymore. I rushed towards her, pulled her up, and claimed her succulent lips in a wet, hot, and deep kiss. It lasted longer than I intended, because I was hoping I co

Amante POVIt was the happiest moment of my life, my wedding day!Everything seems surreal, except for the happiness I feel jumping hysterically inside my chest. My heart seems to burst out anytime soon because of excitement.I wear a strange wedding attire Sir John Dave had prepared for me. It was luxurious and custom-made. It was an adorned, long-sleeved ceremonial top used on special occasions by Lausanne clan. It was made with thin textiles woven from piña- the most expensive and highly prized material in Leverland. It was because of its manufacturing difficulty, quality, and rarity. It was distinguished by fibers of patchy thickness, which gives the fabric the appearance of having streaks. It has slits on both sides and buttoned straight down the chest. The embroidery placed on a rectangular section on the front of the chest and over the entire shirt was of red dyes and g

Amante POV The days following the wedding, Allyssa and I were filled with happiness. After a week’s vacation on the mainland of Leverland, we travelled to different countries. There I realized how ignorant was I about the world that I had been lusting to put under my paws. The world is vast, massive, and holds dangers I have never experienced before. There are big cities and there are also great ones. Everywhere we go, Aswang are existent. They are not concealed like the werewolves but are seen and live like humans do. Moreover, they are in the influential positions of the society. People in power, in the government, business people, police, lawyers, and doctors. Aswang have the ability to manipulate people around them. Some of whom marry humans to avoid suspicions. It was part of the great plot. Aswang has to wait for the right opportunity to step up and take over the world. It was a uniqu

Amante POVAswang was weak when they were in human form. Only a few have the ability to maintain their superhuman strengths when they were not on their flyers. Allyssa told me those who had eaten human flesh became stronger. And since they were banned from eating without the matriarch’s permission, mostly were weak before the monthly feast. Sure there were Aswang rogues as well. They were those who do not adhere to superiors and wreak havoc to the human community. Most were subdued early, in order to maintain the existence of the clan concealed within the realms of the human world.Allyssa, being the strongest Aswang, was capable of transformation at her whim, just like me as a werewolf. However, the Aswang family who got caught in the airport were part of the weak ones. They have nothing to go against their oppressors.Hunters were savage. The arrest was bloody brutal. Punch, kick, whack. They did

Amante POVI hastily walked my way through the hallways leading to the center of the stadium, where the Aswang family were held captive. There were some guards who tried to call my attention or block my way.“Where are you going? No one is allowed to go in there.”“I have to report directly to the boss.”“Just tell me and I will relay it to him.”“So, you could gain his trust and not mine?”“What the f...how dare you talk to me that way. Amante POVThe night was cauldron-black when we arrived at the Lausanne mansion on the island. The air of fall was humid and heavy. Despite that, everybody was present to welcome our arrival. The tower was ready for the celebration.Aside from that, tonight was the first of the new moon. It was the Aswang monthly feast and Allyssa could be any happier when we got here just in time. She went to her room to change into the traditional wardrobe used for the festival.“Master Amante, congratulations! We heard about what happened in New York and we were amazed! It was not an easy fleet to take.”“Most of the time, if we were confronted by those human hunters, all we did was cower or endure the torture. We lost too many friends for not fighting back.”“Now, we have hope. We have our heroes, King Amante

Amante POVThe four of us was over the moon. The dark night was filled with laughter and applauding. We stayed awake and waited for everybody at the top of the tower.“This is the first time this has happened, Master Amante. For all the years since my mother’s reign over the clan, none of us had awoken during the ceremony. It was believed to create havoc as Aswang was feral during the punctilio.”Madame Maida seemed relaxed to talk casually. She was even all smiles.“I have something to ask. Where do they go?”“They were dispersed accordingly. Some must be in Bona Viesta, others went to San Carlos this time. Every month we choose different rural areas where the residing Aswang spy had us an eyeful of the place.”“I have met your kinds before in Verte Monde about half a year ago or more. Was there an Aswang in that area that I was not aware of?”

Amante POVI could only gape at Allyssa. She was the one who suffered a lot back in Verte Monde. I could not just believe she would be that willing to stomp her feet back on that place.“You will be there for me. What’s there for me to be afraid of?”She even shrugged her delicate shoulders as if it was the most natural thing for her to say. I glanced at Madame Maida and Seer Iris Meritis. They do have approving looks on their faces. We stood quiet after that. It was awkward that I do not even know how to breath naturally. The trip back to my pack has never occured on me for quite some time. In fact, I do not even thought about it ever. The talk about it completely spoiled the happy and cheerful mood before. The peaceful hours of the sacred night demand refection. I ask myself out to provide

Amante POV“Are you sure you're feeling okay?”Allyssa nodded. We are inside their private helicopter flying to Verte Monde. This morning, I hesitatingly agreed on the trip back to my pack. If I would be honest, I have been nervous about it ever since we had the talks. I am terrified for my mate, for the response she would get from my packmates.“I feel good, my love. I'm not afraid. I haven't done anything wrong to them.”“But Marina, what really happened to her?”“I also don't understand what happened. When I woke up, I was looking for Marina. Irna said you were together, and I got jealous. When Irna called Marina, she came in a rage. We argued but it wasn't too much of a bout. She was a she-wolf and I was just a human being at the time.”She pauses for a moment before talking ag

A year later, under the glorious moonlight, two shadows can be seen lurking at the top of Empire State Building in New York, USA. It was Amante with his mate Allyssa. They were observing the people gathered below for the New Year’s eve celebration. Right after the magnificent fireworks display, they stared at each other with generous smiles plastered on their faces. “Time has come, my love! I’m happy to be here beside you right now!” Amante whispered lovingly on his wife’s ears. Allyssa giggled like love-struck teenager when she felt butterflies in her stomach because of her husband’s words. “I love you!” was all she could answer to that. They lovingly wrapped each other in tight embrace. Amante mind linked his Beta, the eleven year old Kelvin who showed him that age was nothing but a number. “Everybody on their places, Beta Kelvin?” “Aye, Alpha King Amante! W

Amante POV “Take a look at that, Maziar. Those were the human beings werewolves have been wary about all their lives. Most of them does not even believe our kinds do exist.” We were at the city center, fitting ourselves with the bustling people around. I could sense Maziar’s discomfort. He was extremely anxious. “Serves him right.” The amusement in Amaltheo’s chuckle made me smile unconsciously. I turned towards the corner of a street where a street performance seemed to have caught everyone’s attention. Maziar followed behind hesitantly. I was not bothered by the idea that he might try to escape, and I guess, he knows why. As the night started to fade away, the crowd on the streets finally began to diminish as people go their separate ways. “See that, Maziar? Nobody notices our existence within the human populace. There was not a reason to hibernate in that barren, frozen la

I can show you the world, the real world I wanted to conquer the most.”Although I haven’t tried it myself, an idea of transporting with someone from place to place has a good impression on me.And because this was just a trial and error phase, there’s no one other than Maziar Brennan who fitted the most as my companion.I could boast my powers right in front of his sulking face and I could simply ditch him somewhere barren to die alone and miserable. The look on his face was satisfying. This time I’ve transformed back into my human form and I quickly grabbed him by the neck. There would be no place for him to but with me.With nothing on, I did not hesitate to summon my teleportation power. Amante POVHaving been a quisling myself, I’ve masterfully acquired the tacit ways to get someone fooled; one, was to make the fool believe what isn’t true, and, the other was to make the truth as unbearable misery as possible that the ignorant would refuse to believe it himself.Maziar Brennan has the nerve to put me in such dilemma. If his goal was to plant doubts and mislead me, he had already succeeded halfway. My rationality was clouded with his poisonous truth, so intense that I almost found myself collapsing on the ground.I never wanted to be seen weak and vulnerable. It was degrading on my part to slump like the whole world has fallen down on me.But what else could be done?Maziar Brennan. The traitor that dared to kill me, stole from me, and challenged my ascendency was my first and only blood cousin!I have always thought I was the last of all Del Fuegos.

Amante POVMaziar Brennan remained silent for a while longer. He seemed to be on his own world, contemplating on his next move. Even his followers were quiet and did not attempt to move a bit far from where I found them when I first appeared in front of them. I kept myself at bay, taking the risk of being too exposed but not at the mercy of any werewolves who would dare challenge me.Amaltheo, my spirit wolf on his glorious magnificence, was totally intimidating and looking as menacing as possible without much effort. The silver fur was glistening at the flickering firecrackers made by the bonfire at the center of the cave. The calf they were roasting was burnt for being left untouched from the fire consuming its shrunk meat. No one cared, or if there might be, they forcefully convinced themselves to stay away and let it burn and

Amante POVIt would remain a mystery on me how Maziar Brennan became the traitor I have been before. It was the tag I used to carry discreetly all through out the years I stayed with the Irati Nardus Pack. The things I did, the secrets I hide, and the betrayals I concealed before become his to endure, and as charged to my past experiences, it would lead him to nowhere but doom. There were so many things I would like to ask him. I should have it all written down on a piece of paper so it would have been easier for me, as I only needed to read it aloud. It was because, right now, I suddenly felt stupefied in front of him. I maybe as stunned as his petrified condition which made us both silent for a couple of seconds.Only the cracklings of the burning firewood and the heavy breathing of the werewolves inside this cave was the only noise that echoes around. Rather than attacking me as I had an

Amante POV“I would go and confront the traitor, Maziar Brennan, all by myself!”My words were instantly shunned with exasperated gasps from everyone, most especially my mate, Allyssa Lausanne. She jerked out of my arms with shaken standpoint.“What are you talking about? You know very well that I would never let you do this without me by your side. What were you thinking, huh, Amante?”Her voice were filled with disappointments and disbelief. I have already anticipated her extreme reactions way before I have even got the chance to voice out my perceptions on the problems we were facing because of Maziar. There would be no other way out of this, but to patiently persuade her to comply, as this would be the only chance we got to ensure the success of capturing the rotten bastard.“Calm down and hear me away first, Allyssa!”I have never tried to use

How do everyone reacted? Does any one of you aware that she was the one who really killed Marina?”Alpha Vincent shifted nervously before replying to Allyssa. His anxiety was visibly pasted on his flustered face.“I would start by begging for forgiveness. I am truly sorry, Luna Allyssa, but the truth was, except for Alpha Mayor who was settled at the island of Cape Narciso, everyone knows that you were not really to blame for Marina's death. Despite that, we proceeded on your unfair trial. The council was convinced that it was the best way to get rid of you or at least get you kicked out of

Amante POVIt was getting dark outside when we finished cooking up the moose meat. The whole process was filled with laughter and I enjoyed every second of it. We were like a real family having the best day of their lives together in the most common yet fulfilling corner of the house, the kitchen. As we started moving out, I scanned my surroundings. The bright moon had half appeared behind the darkened clouds. It was not very common to see stars in the sky of Antarctica. It was simply because of the harsh and most often violent climate of the weather. In here, the snow does not stop pouring throughout the year.I felt the chilly breeze from the icy squalls that dances along with the gentle wind.Mixed with the pungent and familiar scents of my packmates was the savory aroma of the roasted meat prepared by Kelvin for his sickly friend Lyka, the unica hija of the former Beta of Alpha K
