Amante POV

The four of us was over the moon. The dark night was filled with laughter and applauding. We stayed awake and waited for everybody at the top of the tower.

“This is the first time this has happened, Master Amante. For all the years since my mother’s reign over the clan, none of us had awoken during the ceremony. It was believed to create havoc as Aswang was feral during the punctilio.”

Madame Maida seemed relaxed to talk casually. She was even all smiles.

“I have something to ask. Where do they go?”

“They were dispersed accordingly. Some must be in Bona Viesta, others went to San Carlos this time. Every month we choose different rural areas where the residing Aswang spy had us an eyeful of the place.”

“I have met your kinds before in Verte Monde about half a year ago or more. Was there an Aswang in that area that I was not aware of?”

Amante POVI could only gape at Allyssa. She was the one who suffered a lot back in Verte Monde. I could not just believe she would be that willing to stomp her feet back on that place.“You will be there for me. What’s there for me to be afraid of?”She even shrugged her delicate shoulders as if it was the most natural thing for her to say. I glanced at Madame Maida and Seer Iris Meritis. They do have approving looks on their faces. We stood quiet after that. It was awkward that I do not even know how to breath naturally. The trip back to my pack has never occured on me for quite some time. In fact, I do not even thought about it ever. The talk about it completely spoiled the happy and cheerful mood before. The peaceful hours of the sacred night demand refection. I ask myself out to provide

Amante POV“Are you sure you're feeling okay?”Allyssa nodded. We are inside their private helicopter flying to Verte Monde. This morning, I hesitatingly agreed on the trip back to my pack. If I would be honest, I have been nervous about it ever since we had the talks. I am terrified for my mate, for the response she would get from my packmates.“I feel good, my love. I'm not afraid. I haven't done anything wrong to them.”“But Marina, what really happened to her?”“I also don't understand what happened. When I woke up, I was looking for Marina. Irna said you were together, and I got jealous. When Irna called Marina, she came in a rage. We argued but it wasn't too much of a bout. She was a she-wolf and I was just a human being at the time.”She pauses for a moment before talking ag

Amante POVThey hugged each other excitedly, like two long time friends that have not seen each other for a year. I was glad, my wife was happy and having a wonderful time with her friend. We stayed by the balcony where they kept on talking to each other.I was merely a stranger before them, but I do not envy their closeness. I actually felt relieved that she was enjoying herself. This sight was familiar. It was Marina and my mate, together and enjoying each other’s company. I used to feel jealous and left out. It was my arrogance, my self proclaimed superiority over everybody else. I was reminded how awful I was with Allyssa back then. “Enough Amante! All was now a part of the past. You should learn from your mistakes but do not take it to the heart. You have to forgive yourself as much as Allyssa forgave you.”“I agree Amaltheo. All I can do now is to

Amante POVI met Maziar Brennan when I was only six years old. He was often invited by my father, the king together with his Alpha. He was the beta of our neighboring pack, the nearest to our kingdom. When Amaltheo, my spirit wolf appeared early, he was assigned to train me. All I know about fighting came from him. He also became my savior when our kingdom was attacked by the human beings. He brought me to Verte Monde, and both of us became part of Irati Nardus Pack of the winter wolves. We had many wars fought together. I chose him as beta of my acquired kingdom. He was the last thing I have that reminds me of my past, and until the end, I expected him to be an ally. How did he become a traitor?Irna said it started when I met Allyssa. So, most probably, he doesn't know anything about the Andrews, who had been my collaborators for so many years.“He

Amante POVI called on Joaquin and Senyora Luisita. I asked for information about Cape Narciso. I will need the help of Alpha Mayor in my plans.“Cape Narciso? I just heard that place. It was announced on the new in the television that the frequent earthquakes here are due to the periodic volcanic eruptions there. Some have also reported refuge from there last week after the latest eruption.”“The volcano erupted? How strong?”I felt uncomfortable about the news. If it was true, then the pack stationed in there must be in danger. It’s a disaster!“I think just enough to evacuate some people from there. I know there are some who refused to leave. Maybe the situation there was not so bad.”I was silent for a while and don't know what to say. Allyssa held my hand.“Would there some problem, Amante?”

Allyssa POVIt was a gloomy night. The moon was peeking behind the thick and blacken clouds and there were no other celestial bodies on sight. The dark surroundings was eerie to the eyes of the preys scampering away from their hunting predators. There were wolves around. The crow nestling on top of a birch tree that was swaying along with the dancing, cold squalls has its piercing eyes on the pack of ten wolves lurking in the shadows. An adult bison was growling wildly at the center of the chaos.Apparently, the werewolves were in the middle of hunting. Unknown POVThe ritual was attended by several werewolves in the pack. Some males put the dead animals in the fire as offering while the other packmates howl incessantly to the peeking moon. They look like they were calling for the Moon Goddess herself. The savory scent of the roasting meat of the offerings wafted strongly in the surrounding air. The wind carried up the smoke to the sky. And as if the moon had smell its palatable aroma, it appeared from behind the clouds at its brightest glory. It was an ominous sight for the werewolves. They believe the Moon Goddess accepted their offerings and they howl louder and jovial even more. Everybody participated on the ceremony. Even the Alpha was howling at his loudest in harmony with his packmates. Amante POVWe were invited by Alpha Mayor to stay a day in the island. I asked about the safety of the pack. I heard from Joaquin that the human refuges knew nothing about the werewolves. They thought the village at the base of the mountain was indegenous people and were accustomed to the freak outs of the volcano. The disturbances of the volcano have somehow became advantageous to the werewolves' pack. Ordinary human beings were terrified by the intense disaster that happens several times daily. As of the time we stayed on the island, there were less than a hundred mortals scouring in the area. Those were the people who were studying and observing the temperamental volcano. They pose no threat to the surviving pack.“Alpha King Amante, Luna Allyssa, this is my only son, Kelvin. He is only ten years old but trained enough already. He’s best in combat among the pack warriors and

A year later, under the glorious moonlight, two shadows can be seen lurking at the top of Empire State Building in New York, USA. It was Amante with his mate Allyssa. They were observing the people gathered below for the New Year’s eve celebration. Right after the magnificent fireworks display, they stared at each other with generous smiles plastered on their faces. “Time has come, my love! I’m happy to be here beside you right now!” Amante whispered lovingly on his wife’s ears. Allyssa giggled like love-struck teenager when she felt butterflies in her stomach because of her husband’s words. “I love you!” was all she could answer to that. They lovingly wrapped each other in tight embrace. Amante mind linked his Beta, the eleven year old Kelvin who showed him that age was nothing but a number. “Everybody on their places, Beta Kelvin?” “Aye, Alpha King Amante! W

Amante POV “Take a look at that, Maziar. Those were the human beings werewolves have been wary about all their lives. Most of them does not even believe our kinds do exist.” We were at the city center, fitting ourselves with the bustling people around. I could sense Maziar’s discomfort. He was extremely anxious. “Serves him right.” The amusement in Amaltheo’s chuckle made me smile unconsciously. I turned towards the corner of a street where a street performance seemed to have caught everyone’s attention. Maziar followed behind hesitantly. I was not bothered by the idea that he might try to escape, and I guess, he knows why. As the night started to fade away, the crowd on the streets finally began to diminish as people go their separate ways. “See that, Maziar? Nobody notices our existence within the human populace. There was not a reason to hibernate in that barren, frozen la

There would be no place for him to but with me.With nothing on, I did not hesitate to summon my teleportation power. Amante POVHaving been a quisling myself, I’ve masterfully acquired the tacit ways to get someone fooled; one, was to make the fool believe what isn’t true, and, the other was to make the truth as unbearable misery as possible that the ignorant would refuse to believe it himself.Maziar Brennan has the nerve to put me in such dilemma. If his goal was to plant doubts and mislead me, he had already succeeded halfway. My rationality was clouded with his poisonous truth, so intense that I almost found myself collapsing on the ground.I never wanted to be seen weak and vulnerable. It was degrading on my part to slump like the whole world has fallen down on me.But what else could be done?Maziar Brennan. The traitor that dared to kill me, stole from me, and challenged my ascendency was my first and only blood cousin!I have always thought I was the last of all Del Fuegos.

Amante POVMaziar Brennan remained silent for a while longer. He seemed to be on his own world, contemplating on his next move. Even his followers were quiet and did not attempt to move a bit far from where I found them when I first appeared in front of them. I kept myself at bay, taking the risk of being too exposed but not at the mercy of any werewolves who would dare challenge me.Amaltheo, my spirit wolf on his glorious magnificence, was totally intimidating and looking as menacing as possible without much effort. The silver fur was glistening at the flickering firecrackers made by the bonfire at the center of the cave. The calf they were roasting was burnt for being left untouched from the fire consuming its shrunk meat. No one cared, or if there might be, they forcefully convinced themselves to stay away and let it burn and

Amante POVIt would remain a mystery on me how Maziar Brennan became the traitor I have been before. It was the tag I used to carry discreetly all through out the years I stayed with the Irati Nardus Pack. The things I did, the secrets I hide, and the betrayals I concealed before become his to endure, and as charged to my past experiences, it would lead him to nowhere but doom. There were so many things I would like to ask him. I should have it all written down on a piece of paper so it would have been easier for me, as I only needed to read it aloud. It was because, right now, I suddenly felt stupefied in front of him. I maybe as stunned as his petrified condition which made us both silent for a couple of seconds.Only the cracklings of the burning firewood and the heavy breathing of the werewolves inside this cave was the only noise that echoes around. Rather than attacking me as I had an

Amante POV“I would go and confront the traitor, Maziar Brennan, all by myself!”My words were instantly shunned with exasperated gasps from everyone, most especially my mate, Allyssa Lausanne. She jerked out of my arms with shaken standpoint.“What are you talking about? You know very well that I would never let you do this without me by your side. What were you thinking, huh, Amante?”Her voice were filled with disappointments and disbelief. I have already anticipated her extreme reactions way before I have even got the chance to voice out my perceptions on the problems we were facing because of Maziar. There would be no other way out of this, but to patiently persuade her to comply, as this would be the only chance we got to ensure the success of capturing the rotten bastard.“Calm down and hear me away first, Allyssa!”I have never tried to use

How do everyone reacted? Does any one of you aware that she was the one who really killed Marina?”Alpha Vincent shifted nervously before replying to Allyssa. His anxiety was visibly pasted on his flustered face.“I would start by begging for forgiveness. I am truly sorry, Luna Allyssa, but the truth was, except for Alpha Mayor who was settled at the island of Cape Narciso, everyone knows that you were not really to blame for Marina's death. Despite that, we proceeded on your unfair trial. The council was convinced that it was the best way to get rid of you or at least get you kicked out of

Amante POVIt was getting dark outside when we finished cooking up the moose meat. The whole process was filled with laughter and I enjoyed every second of it. We were like a real family having the best day of their lives together in the most common yet fulfilling corner of the house, the kitchen. As we started moving out, I scanned my surroundings. The bright moon had half appeared behind the darkened clouds. It was not very common to see stars in the sky of Antarctica. It was simply because of the harsh and most often violent climate of the weather. In here, the snow does not stop pouring throughout the year.I felt the chilly breeze from the icy squalls that dances along with the gentle wind.Mixed with the pungent and familiar scents of my packmates was the savory aroma of the roasted meat prepared by Kelvin for his sickly friend Lyka, the unica hija of the former Beta of Alpha K
