ACE'S POV

As I stood listening to kyra, I was filled with confusion and I couldn't understand one bit no matter no how hard I tried to understand. We had a planned and then things comes up but she still wants us to go on with that same plan but in a different manner. I was confused and there was no way I could pretend like I understood what she wanted us to do. I sighed, clasped my hands together and placed it on my chest. I was waiting to hear what it was she wanted to talk about.

"Okayy.. I was thinking about this all after before you came to me. The defense at the pack must be tighter than we envisaged it to be and I wouldn't want us to risk it one bit. Since they have farm settlements just the way we do, don't you think we should attack their farm settlements first. That way, they'll be forced to reduce the level of security they have over there and then we can attack…." She explained in the most gentle and calmest way I've seen her speak when she's discussing the pack. I wanted to

BLAKE'S POVI struggled with all the strength I could muster. I wanted to see who it was that had that voice that won't just get off my head. I was in a dilemma and yes, I was scared as well. I was in the forest and who knows if he has some people waiting in ambush die me but still, I stood strong, refusing to let him go."I said you should let go of me!" He said again but in a loud voice that exuded bravery and courage. But it was starting to make sense to me and I could understand what was going on. I recognised the voice."Josh!"I called abruptly, taking him by surprise. His body went cold for a brief moment and I needed no one to tell me he was exactly the one I was searching for."What are you talking about? Who is this josh!? Let go of me!" He responded, trying to change his voice so that I wouldn't recognize him but what he didn't know was that he was only wasting his time. After a few more seconds and a moment of struggle with him, I managed to turn him towards me. I pinned him

HARDIN'S POVI couldn't understand Why my son continued to act so foolish and annoying in a way that pisses me off all the mother fucking time. I just couldn't imagine we were standing there with a tyrant who could cause our death and he's still confused as to what to do. That was one thing I was really sure he inherited from his mother and that was her calm and gentle spirit. She was too gentle for my liking and so was Blake as well."Come on dad! We've got to calm down a bit. We can't just make a rash decision that would eventually bounce back on us. You know we can't just kill him like that…." He said to me, making me really mad with him. I wanted to land him a really dirty slap and I could say it took me all the patience in the world I could muster to prevent myself from doing so."What the hell is your problem! Why are you being such a Fool? Isn't it clear to you what this guy is going to do to you if you allow him to live? He would go on to report to Rahl and then we would be att

KYRA'S POVThe commanders were gathered at once… the five of them with their eyes filled with blood. They were all ready for action and I could see how enthusiastic they were towards it. Their appearance alone made me really excited and glad."You have summoned us for an important meeting Ma'am…" one of them said, staring at me with all seriousness."I have a very serious assignment for you all and I want it done immediately and as smoothly as possible. I do not want any mishap that would bounce back on us in the nearer future…" I ordered in a loud and firm voice that definitely didn't sound like me. I couldn't believe it as well until I was told by Ace that j sounded like that."Yes, I did summon you all here. There are five farm settlements of the pack that Rahl is currently inhabiting as his. I want you to each lead an army of soldiers to each of the pack, attack the men but make sure the farm itself isn't endangered and welp protected. We only need to make sure that they exit the f

ACE'S POV"That's not possible!" The commander beside me said with the strongest validation I had ever gotten from all the commands I had given all through the evening. I wanted to agree with him but I just couldn't. It was weird that they had more than ten soldiers patrolling at that time of the night but then even though I wasn't feeling all sure about it, I just couldn't retreat without giving it a try. I raced my hands through my hair. I was the most confused person that could be living at that moment."What do you say we should do sir?""We attack without retreat and we've got to make sure we give it our very Best. We have to make sure it is just the right thing to do. We can't afford to lose…" I said in a loud and firm voice that kinda echoed through the night. We continued with our movement, slowly but steadily with our eyes darting around in search of underlying spies and agents that may be lurking around. When I was sure that the coast was clear, I raised my hand in the air an

ACE'S POV"Sounds? What sounds do you hear sir? Are you sure you aren't wrong because I can't seem to hear anything…" one of the soldiers said to him as their eyes continued to dart around in search of what was making the sound. I was appalled but then there was nothing I could do because we still hadn't seen what it was. If I was to be honest, then I'll say I was extremely scared but had to keep my fears within me as I could afford allowing the soldiers to see how scared I was. We continued along the long and dark road that led to the pack. We were silent and at the same time joyous as we went. I was the most joyous of the lot.I began to imagine the look that would have been on Kyra's face if we had lost the battle. She would have been so disappointed and sad and that would make me lose her trust in me. I sighed… a long sigh full of wisdom and deep thoughts…**We arrived at the pack a few minutes later panting like we had just Completed a marathon. I had a wide grin plastered onto m

RAHL'S POVWithin a few minutes, the commanders had gathered in the room that was used for meetings in the pack. I was mad but somehow, I managed to get myself to be calm even though all I wanted to do was yell and brawl at them."Good day sir. you sent for us and under such short notice sir!" One of them said and then set me on fire. I clenched my hands into a fist and then rose to my feet."Damn it! You're not going to be the one to tell me when I'm going to summon you, got it? How dare you!" I screeched, panting heavily like one who had just completed a marathon. I Wanted to move closer to him and land a resounding blow across the face but I managed to calm myself down. Now wasn't the time to act all violent and harsh else it was going to backfire on me."I'm sorry sir, I never had it in my intentions to upset you," he uttered an apology with his lips pouted awkwardly. I stared at him for a few seconds before I eventually took my sit."You should definitely be sorry because you got

KYRA'S POVI turned my head around with a pang of joy hitting right through me. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have someone like Ace by my side to guide and assist me. I would be so helpless if not for him and that was the bitter truth. I had tears welled up in my eyes and it took all the Willpower I could muster to hold myself from crying."Oh my goodness! Thank you very much. I have never thought about that in all the while I had been troubled. Now, I do not have anything to worry about. We need to prepare for the worst at most. We cannot afford to be caught Unaware by Rahl and his men," I said to him with my hands locked in his."Yes, I'm extremely sure he's trying all he can to make sure he gets back at us. Our reinforcement from other packs will be here soon and in a matter of a few days, we'll be ready to attack.""That's great. Thanks for all you do.." I locked him in a tight embrace and then planted a kiss on his lips.I returned bro my room at once after waving him good

BLAKE'S POVIt didn't take long for me to hear the news of what happened to the farm settlements, our farm settlements. I didn't know if I was to feel happy or be sad because no matter what happens, the pack still belongs to us as I was sure of regaining it someday in the nearest future. I raised my head from where it laid and stared into oblivion. I was in a different world entirely and nothing seemed to make sense before me except taking over the pack. I remembered the scene in the forest and I couldn't help but burst into tears. There was no explanation as to why it hurt so much even though I was aware what it was he wanted to do back then. I knew if we had left him to go, then we'd be dead meat by that moment but still, the feeling of guilt just wouldn't wash over me. I was still lost in my thoughts when I felt a touch on my shoulder. I shuddered out of fear as I sharply turned my head to behold who it was. It was my father…"It's you dad. You Startled me. Why are you here?" I sai

CHAPTER 179RAHL'S POVIt was late at night and all was silent. I laid on my bed with my eyes to the ceiling as various thoughts ran through my mind. My eyes were filled with tears as I rolled around in search of Cindy. I had grown to love her and that a day without her felt like a nightmare to me but then I couldn't but punish her for betraying my trust and all. I wasn't one to be treated with leveity and this she knew but what she did do instead? She went on, acting like I wasn't of any importance to her. Tears gathered in my eyes and I made no attention of any such to prevent it from trickling down."Don't you think you should forgive her and continue like it never happened!" A voice said to me in a cool reserved manner and strangely, I began to see sense in it. I would have to go see her the next day. I was still speaking to myself when I Heard some loud noises from outside. It was weird for people to make so much noise at that time of the day. I had a strong feeling that all was

CHAPTER 178KYRA'S POVBlake and his men had just arrived at our pack , ready for the battle that was to take place soon. I was filled with uncertainty and couldn't get rid it it no matter how hard I tried. I wasn't worried about him or the fact that I was going to be seeing his face regularly. I was worried if we were going to win against Rahl. Rahl was really tricky and there was no way to tell exactly what he had in plans. True, we have the advantage of the human weapon on our side but what if he has them as well? That would be catastrophic as well. We only have a little supply of it to go round a few men so I knew what I was talking about. I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard the voice of Someone from behind. I turned and right there was Blake, his hands clasped to his side. I wasn't entirely pleased with the fact that he had come to meet me there but I wasn't going to ask him to leave as well. I had to stay there and listen to Whatever it was he had to say."And what both

CHAPTER 177CINDY'S POVMy world and Everything I had worked so hard for came crumbling on me and there was nothing I could do about it. I was helpless to the core with tears trickling down my face in large torrents. It was a dark room and the only thing I could see was the mirror of myself. I Wanted to speak, to yell and cry aloud but I couldn't dare to do that. The last time I did so was ten minutes ago and I regretted it badly. The echo had sent such great fear in me with my heart thumping heavily against my chest. I glanced around hoping those who had heard my loud yell would come to find out what the problem but I was wrong. There was no sign of anyone. It was appearant that they didn't give a damn as to what to what happened to me. My mind flashed to the past hour and how things had changed for me within a short while. I still couldn't understand how Rahl happened to find out all of these. "Damn it! Perhaps he went to report to Rahl! That good for nothing orderly!" I thought to

CHAPTER 176BLAKE'S POVThe meeting had ended and we had decided to move thr soldiers to Kyra's pack the next Day. We couldn't waste time as we didn't want Rahl to be the first one to launch an attack. We wanted to take him byu surprise such that he wouldn't be able to regain his balance. Will you be coming with us, dad?" I asked after everyone else had gone. He Stared at me with disdain as if to ask what had suddenly come over me."And what sort of a question is that?" He snapped at once, a thick frown etched to the corners of his face. I lowered my gaze from him as ui wasn't ready for unnecessary talks."I only Wanted to be sure, that's all. I'm sorry if it didn't go well with you!* I quickly apologized, hoping it would end that way but I could only wish."You know you shouldn't be asking such questions. They sound dumb to the ears. If I decide to go with you, then who would remain here to look after the People? Won't they consider us thoughtless and without empathy for them?" He w

I could get I hadn't gotten as upset as I was at that momen and no matter how hard I tried to get myself to be calm, it just proved abortive.."Are you sure you're telling the truth?* I asked in a thick baritone could just to be sure he was telling me nothing but the truth. I couldn't risk taking a crucial action based on some lie. I squeezed my brows just to give me that evillish look and it did work. He was shivering in no time and looked like He was going to break anytime soon. "Yes sir, I am sure sir. Why do you think I would lie to you sir when I'm full aware of what you are going to me if you find ou I'm lying?" He said with quavering voice that I couldn't but agree with him. I cleared my throat and raised my head to him. He immediately moved his gaze from me, pretending like he hadn't been stealing glances at me all these while. I cleared my throat and twisted my lips into a funny posture."Why are you staring at me in this manner?" I asked in a cool and calm voice, my eyes blinking uncontrollably like it was being controlled by a switch. He was mute for a few seconds with his eyes fixedl wholly on me. I loved it at first but then it became elongated and I couldn't bear it anymore. "Aren't you going to say a word? Is there anything in my eyes?" I went on to ask, a bit confused as to why he was staring at me in such manner. That was the first time I had seen him with such look and it kinda made it worried. I pleaded with great desperation but he wouldn't listen to me. With every second that went by, the fire grew closer to me and the iota of hope I had left in me was starting to fade off. The heat was dangerous and hell. I turned behind, hoping to somehow find a way to escape but it proved abortive."Someone please help me!" I yelled at the top of my voice and jerked up at once, panting like I just completed a marathon. It felt like my heart was going to blow from my chest at any moment. I sat upright, moving my eyes around, searching for the fire. It was all a dream. I heaved a sigh of relief as I tried to catch my breath. CHAPTER 172BLAKE'S POVThere was so lot that had to be done in the settlement especially after the fight. We had to make sure it was up to what we had before. So many damages had been done and it wasn't going to be rectified in a minute. When we were done, we were pretty exhausted, I most especially. I wanted to do nothing but lay on my bed and sleep but then there were so many things that had to be done within a short while. I stood akimbo with my hands clasped to my waist and glared around while the peop worked with all their mights to make sure that they get the best out of the pack. I was still standing there when father Walked up to me with a weird look on his face. I found it rather weird that he had such expression and when he didn't speak at once, I wanted to ask him what the problem was but then I changed my mind against it and decided he should be the one to speak. CHAPTER 171CINDY'S POVThe fear in me heightened with every second that went by and the more I pondered on the issue at hand, the more my heart palpitated against my chest. I was yet to understand why Rahl was suddenly creating a fuss over it. At the rate he was going, I was sure he wasn't going to spare me if he finds out the truth. He is going to kill me and wouldn't even spare a second to hear me out. That alone gave me goosebumps and I knew I had to think fast. I had to do what was to done at once. I sighed and then rose to my feet, pacing through the length and breadth of the room like one who was being troubled with demons. After a few seconds, I returned to the bed, sitting heavily on it like it had offended me before now. I drew the rope by the bed. It was one used as an alarm to call either of our orderlies. The moment I drew it,I heard a knock on the door and then a few seconds break before the doorknob turned, revealing my orderly who looked as serious as ever."It's time
