KYRA'S POV

I staggered in my wolf form as I ran and limped toward my pack.

There were several warriors behind me and they were all covered in wounds of all sorts.

But then I was happy. We were victorious and we were able to weaken Rahl a great deal.

His hideout was destroyed, we freed his captives and his minions were killed. However, Rahl was able to escape but then I could bet that he would be on the sick bed for a really long time.

"Luna, are you okay?" One of the warriors asked from behind through the mind link.

However, I groaned in response because I was too tired.

I had a broken limb, the reason why I was limping.

We were almost at the pack when I spotted Ace, still in my wolf form.

My bones weakened at the sight of him. I had been acting all strong ever since but now I could lean on him and be taken care of.

"Kyra." I heard Ace call out to me as I approached the huge gate of the pack. He ran toward me and he was able to recognize me in the midst of every other wolf.

Making up war chants with the names of the packs they had conquered and destroyed was the job of Jago the Omega, but after this particular victory everybody in the pack was in high spirits. They were all howling and growling, brandishing their sharp and bloodstained fangs while swinging from tree to tree, wherever they could find one. The moon was halfway across the sky and the closer it got tot the center the more the adrenaline raged in their vains. Rahl, a thousand year old evil Mage who was up until a few moons ago a myth to the Wolves of New Orleans had led what was left of the Half moon Werewolf pack to victory against the Werewolf packs of Silver creek. They returned with spoils of war ranging from food, female Wolves to mate with and silverware, to the head of the Alpha and Luna of the Silver Creek pack displayed on pikes. The remnants of what was once the great Half moon pack of New Orleans, and some other Wolves who were prisoners of wer from his previous conquests all ov

Rahl's Pov There is nothing as satisfying as being unpredictable most times. Everyone had always seen the Light Moon Pack as a place any body could stay in without being attacked by any force. It was a pack in which most people in it were werewolves who had been kicked out from there respective pack for one reason or the other. I had shown a lot of power and force in so many strong packs , but the light moon pack was one in which I had not thought of. Not thinking about it wasn't because it didn't interest me, but because I knew I would have a hard time in it. A thought struck and that was how strong and powerful I would be rated if I was to over power the Light Moon Pack. I wasn't going to fail in this and it would be give me lots of powers. The pack had vision seers, diviners, socerer's and lots of people with various skills. Taking it down wouldn't be a bad idea and I would be able to final get almost ten different powers at once. Once I succeed in this scheme no force wou

KYRA'S POVAs the new and rightful Luna of my parents' pack, I was determined to set things right. Rahl's activities could no longer go unnoticed by my kind. If I let him continue, he would only get stronger with time and pose an even bigger threat to the werewolves and perhaps even to me. A feeling of self preservation nagged at the back of my mind though. I wondered if it were better to leave Rahl alone. Since I had defeated him once, chances were that he would leave me and my pack alone now and in the future. Besides, I should have been secretly pleased by what had happened to the Blood Moon pack but I wasn't. I took a moment to analyze my feelings about Rahl's defeat of the Blood Moon pack. What I could feel was grief at the lives that had been lost in Rahl's quest for more power. My jaw set in determination. I would do all in my power to stop Rahl. With Ace by my side, I knew I could. I sneaked a glance at him. He was watching me carefully, his eyes attuned to every expression

KYRA'S POVLogan stood up hastily, almost upsetting the chair. The steadying hand of his guard prevented it from falling over. Hands clasped behind his back, he paced the room, obviously agitated. My eyes followed his movement. With a muttered 'Excuse me', he hastily opened the door and left the room. From the window, Ace and I saw him striding briskly away, his guards half running and struggling to keep up.With a sigh, I turned to Ace."Rahl's exploits seems to have that effect on people, doesn't it?" I said dryly."Yes, it does."Frowning, Ace picked up his fork, pushing the food on his plate around, not eating anything. I placed a hand gently on his arm. "You always tell me not to worry, Ace. Now you're doing the same." "Touche" he said, grinning and letting his fork fall back in the plate with a clatter. "I'm relaxed, see?" He spread out his arms. I laughed."Seriously, though-" I continued. "Something has to be done about Rahl and fast. Did you notice how on edge the people h

LOGAN I was on my way from the Crystal Moon Pack to the Blood Moon Pack to go and save my cousin, Hades, who was the Alpha there. For a while now, his pack was being tormented in many ways by Rahl, an evil mage who I had heard of but had never seen with my eyes. I had never seen him in action either. I had never seen what he could do with his evil powers. But if I was going by the stories I had been hearing since, then I could surely say that the man had powers and could manipulate them as he liked. But then, no matter how powerful he was , he couldn't be more powerful than me and my men combined. My men were a brute force and they had skill and prowess in war, which was unrivaled by many. So there was no way in hell that I could ever believe that this evil mage, Rahl would be able to even come close to defeating or overpowering my men. He just couldn't. His skill was not up to par with theirs. We continued on our way to the Blood Moon Pack, eager to get there and help my cousin

ACE I was really puzzled about something and it seemed as if it wanted to explode in my chest. But I couldn't allow it to. I had to keep calm and handle it in a way that was right for me to do. I couldn't really accomplish anything if I was brash, so I had to take it one step at a time. I paced around the woods outside and the scent of it seemed to draw me in. It was as if it was appealing to me and truly, it did. The woods were quiet and peaceful, the only sound being the sound that was common to woods which were the sound of different animals and the sounds of the plants as they swished back and forth in a peaceful way. I longed to remain in the woods. The place was in a whole other dimension. A movement in the far corner caught my attention and quickly, I whipped his head over to that direction to see what or who the movement came from. I stood on his feet, alert and poised, waiting for anything that might have chosen to happen but something like that -the thing I was expecti

Hades Pov Days in the Light Moon Pack had been so unbalanced. A place where everyone was allowed to do as they pleased. I have always been used to a very principled and civilized way of living and the Light Moon Pack was no where close to what I loved in an environment. Things were really not so cool there, especially when the Alpha of the pack asked that we leave. He didn't want any pack which had issues of war to be allowed to stay in his pack. He felt that our presence would only bring more trouble into his Pack . " You can stay for a few days. But you must leave , I don't want to inherit enemies ", he said bluntly. I suspected that maybe the men of Rahl who were in the pack, had told him to send us away knowing fully well that they were unable to attack a pack filled with all sorts of dangerous people. Attacking his pack would be like a fight between just one supernatural Mage and a thousand supernatural people who lived there. No one did could cause a fight in the light moon p

KYRA'S POV As the reality dawned on me, I felt a surge of fear wash over me and I couldn't understand why rahl wouldn't just let my pack be. I had heard the news of how he took over the alpha moon pack and the thought of it alone sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't think of anything else but how to strengthen my pack and make it tougher such that Rahl wouldn't be able to defeat me. There were over three thousand of my men available but then those wouldn't be enough to even launch an offensive, especially now that Rahl had gathered a lot of reinforcements from the packs in the far north. I wasn't surprised they had agreed to send him reinforcement. They were of the same kind and breed so it wasn't surprising. They attacked packs for fun and without mercy go on to kill the person. Ace Walked in just at that moment with a note of urgency. He looked like one that was being pursued and that did nothing but trigger me. "Is anything the problem?* I asked him with a frown laced to my br

CHAPTER 179RAHL'S POVIt was late at night and all was silent. I laid on my bed with my eyes to the ceiling as various thoughts ran through my mind. My eyes were filled with tears as I rolled around in search of Cindy. I had grown to love her and that a day without her felt like a nightmare to me but then I couldn't but punish her for betraying my trust and all. I wasn't one to be treated with leveity and this she knew but what she did do instead? She went on, acting like I wasn't of any importance to her. Tears gathered in my eyes and I made no attention of any such to prevent it from trickling down."Don't you think you should forgive her and continue like it never happened!" A voice said to me in a cool reserved manner and strangely, I began to see sense in it. I would have to go see her the next day. I was still speaking to myself when I Heard some loud noises from outside. It was weird for people to make so much noise at that time of the day. I had a strong feeling that all was

CHAPTER 178KYRA'S POVBlake and his men had just arrived at our pack , ready for the battle that was to take place soon. I was filled with uncertainty and couldn't get rid it it no matter how hard I tried. I wasn't worried about him or the fact that I was going to be seeing his face regularly. I was worried if we were going to win against Rahl. Rahl was really tricky and there was no way to tell exactly what he had in plans. True, we have the advantage of the human weapon on our side but what if he has them as well? That would be catastrophic as well. We only have a little supply of it to go round a few men so I knew what I was talking about. I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard the voice of Someone from behind. I turned and right there was Blake, his hands clasped to his side. I wasn't entirely pleased with the fact that he had come to meet me there but I wasn't going to ask him to leave as well. I had to stay there and listen to Whatever it was he had to say."And what both

CHAPTER 177CINDY'S POVMy world and Everything I had worked so hard for came crumbling on me and there was nothing I could do about it. I was helpless to the core with tears trickling down my face in large torrents. It was a dark room and the only thing I could see was the mirror of myself. I Wanted to speak, to yell and cry aloud but I couldn't dare to do that. The last time I did so was ten minutes ago and I regretted it badly. The echo had sent such great fear in me with my heart thumping heavily against my chest. I glanced around hoping those who had heard my loud yell would come to find out what the problem but I was wrong. There was no sign of anyone. It was appearant that they didn't give a damn as to what to what happened to me. My mind flashed to the past hour and how things had changed for me within a short while. I still couldn't understand how Rahl happened to find out all of these. "Damn it! Perhaps he went to report to Rahl! That good for nothing orderly!" I thought to

CHAPTER 176BLAKE'S POVThe meeting had ended and we had decided to move thr soldiers to Kyra's pack the next Day. We couldn't waste time as we didn't want Rahl to be the first one to launch an attack. We wanted to take him byu surprise such that he wouldn't be able to regain his balance. Will you be coming with us, dad?" I asked after everyone else had gone. He Stared at me with disdain as if to ask what had suddenly come over me."And what sort of a question is that?" He snapped at once, a thick frown etched to the corners of his face. I lowered my gaze from him as ui wasn't ready for unnecessary talks."I only Wanted to be sure, that's all. I'm sorry if it didn't go well with you!* I quickly apologized, hoping it would end that way but I could only wish."You know you shouldn't be asking such questions. They sound dumb to the ears. If I decide to go with you, then who would remain here to look after the People? Won't they consider us thoughtless and without empathy for them?" He w

CHAPTER 175RAHL'S POV "How dare she do this to me!" I said aloud, slamming my hand against the table that was sitting right in front of me. I could get I hadn't gotten as upset as I was at that momen and no matter how hard I tried to get myself to be calm, it just proved abortive.."Are you sure you're telling the truth?* I asked in a thick baritone could just to be sure he was telling me nothing but the truth. I couldn't risk taking a crucial action based on some lie. I squeezed my brows just to give me that evillish look and it did work. He was shivering in no time and looked like He was going to break anytime soon. "Yes sir, I am sure sir. Why do you think I would lie to you sir when I'm full aware of what you are going to me if you find ou I'm lying?" He said with quavering voice that I couldn't but agree with him. The anger in me turned sour and i began to feel hurt instesd. I had done nothing but love her and make her feel loved. I had treated her in a way that I wouldn't have

I cleared my throat and raised my head to him. He immediately moved his gaze from me, pretending like he hadn't been stealing glances at me all these while. I cleared my throat and twisted my lips into a funny posture."Why are you staring at me in this manner?" I asked in a cool and calm voice, my eyes blinking uncontrollably like it was being controlled by a switch. He was mute for a few seconds with his eyes fixedl wholly on me. I loved it at first but then it became elongated and I couldn't bear it anymore. "Aren't you going to say a word? Is there anything in my eyes?" I went on to ask, a bit confused as to why he was staring at me in such manner. That was the first time I had seen him with such look and it kinda made it worried. I pleaded with great desperation but he wouldn't listen to me. With every second that went by, the fire grew closer to me and the iota of hope I had left in me was starting to fade off. The heat was dangerous and hell. I turned behind, hoping to somehow find a way to escape but it proved abortive."Someone please help me!" I yelled at the top of my voice and jerked up at once, panting like I just completed a marathon. It felt like my heart was going to blow from my chest at any moment. I sat upright, moving my eyes around, searching for the fire. It was all a dream. I heaved a sigh of relief as I tried to catch my breath. I could only imagine What would have happened to me if it wasn't a dream after all."Is this a kind of warning to me? Could Rahl decide to do this to me if he finds out the truth of

CHAPTER 172BLAKE'S POVThere was so lot that had to be done in the settlement especially after the fight. We had to make sure it was up to what we had before. So many damages had been done and it wasn't going to be rectified in a minute. When we were done, we were pretty exhausted, I most especially. I wanted to do nothing but lay on my bed and sleep but then there were so many things that had to be done within a short while. I stood akimbo with my hands clasped to my waist and glared around while the peop worked with all their mights to make sure that they get the best out of the pack. I was still standing there when father Walked up to me with a weird look on his face. I found it rather weird that he had such expression and when he didn't speak at once, I wanted to ask him what the problem was but then I changed my mind against it and decided he should be the one to speak. CHAPTER 171CINDY'S POVThe fear in me heightened with every second that went by and the more I pondered on the issue at hand, the more my heart palpitated against my chest. I was yet to understand why Rahl was suddenly creating a fuss over it. At the rate he was going, I was sure he wasn't going to spare me if he finds out the truth. He is going to kill me and wouldn't even spare a second to hear me out. That alone gave me goosebumps and I knew I had to think fast. I had to do what was to done at once. I sighed and then rose to my feet, pacing through the length and breadth of the room like one who was being troubled with demons. After a few seconds, I returned to the bed, sitting heavily on it like it had offended me before now. I drew the rope by the bed. It was one used as an alarm to call either of our orderlies. The moment I drew it,I heard a knock on the door and then a few seconds break before the doorknob turned, revealing my orderly who looked as serious as ever."It's time
