HARDIN'S POV

After confirming from the young boy who stood in front of us, I signaled to the commander who selected about three dozen men to go into the cave. The young boy was also taken with them to lead them to where Dave was.

They lit the sticks that they had brought with them and dashed into the cave, one after the other, their eyes darting around as they went. They had to be extra careful in case there were some reptiles there.

Myself and the rest of the soldiers stood at the mouth of the cave for the men to return. I couldn't wait to have Dave stand in front of me. I couldn't wait to have him punished for his treacherous act.
