ELSA'S POV

"What about him? What message are you talking about?"

"I'm not sure you'll be a fan but remember that you asked."

"No, I didn't ask. You just brought it up and you know me. I'm too curious to let it slide like that." I said. I had been avoiding him all through today, praying that what I had going on would work. Elton was up to something, which made absolutely no sense because I had just met him.

"He asked me to pass on a message to you."

"Well, go on with it already. Nia, I'm dying of curiosity here."

"He would like to pursue something with you."

ELSA'S POVLast night had also been a long run on its own again. If Arthur's sister, Kelly, was trying to get him back with her friend then what would I be doing here? I had thought that maybe it was just a thing of two to three nights but yesterday made it crystal clear that I was wrong. Now it was time for dinner and I'm expected to seat with the ex of a man who awaited my answer on being his mate. The loud knock that sounded on my door jerked me from my thoughts, stripping me from the circle where my mind stood."Who is it?" I called out, expecting to perhaps hear Agartha or Nia, they were the two people that always showed up at my door every morning."It's Arthur." His voice called, and I froze. I didn't know what to say or what to do. I was surely going to let him

ELSA'S POVI blinked. And blinked again. I already knew what he was about to say. What he wanted to say. The Problem was that I didn't want him to say it. I met the man three days ago and he was already narrating to anyone else that could talk to me about his parent's rushed wedding. I was not cool with that."Um... Well. Here I am. I'm happy I came here too. In there was getting too hot. Literarily and practically." I lied. Well not completely. I was happy I was out here instead of in there, I just wasn't happy I was sharing a space with Elton. Like I said, I liked him but not in the sense he wanted. I smiled awkwardly. Standing there and pretending like I could not see that he had adjusted on the bench for me to seat beside him. No mister."Here. You can search here." He s

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Seventy-three

ELSA'S POV Elton and I rushed to the large meeting hall. Neither one of us spoke. We were still shocked. Well for me it was shock and fear. Why were they ringing the bell Nia had made me believe was a dangerous bell? Not long on the road, we started seeing people father into the Hall, we followed suit. Arthur, and as usual, the council sat at the bar too. Everyone was murmuring and spiking up the nerve I was already feeling in me. I raised my head to see Arthur staring at me intently, which made my heart beat race. Not only because he was extremely handsome but also; because the emergency meeting was because of me. Every day I was in this house with these people I was learning to love, I was scared. Gulther could be anywhere. Lurking in the dark, waiting to snatch my happiness away. My baby was also something I lay awake thinking about every night. It was almost time for my belly to start showing. My abdomen would harden and everyone would know that the intruder the lycan king wanted

NIA'S POVThe garden looked great enough for Silas and me. I made sure of it. I had maids that I could ask for an underground favor. In this case. It was exactly what I had done. This was my first date with this guy and I didn't want to push it with him. I was not even certain it was a date but I dared to dream. All I had to do was wait for Silas. If this was going to work, I had to come up with ways to tell Arthur I had to annul the marriage, after all, I wasn't his mate and we weren't even in love. I heard footsteps approach which pulled me from the thoughts, I turned around and found Silas staring at me then diverting his gaze immediately after mine met his. He was nervous, steadily clenching and unclenching his fists almost straggling the single rose flower he held. Didn't the thorns hurt though?"Hey. You made it. I'm glad." I said. I was more than glad, I was ecstatic even. I had spent many hours with Elsa, and that was how I settled for this red designer. It was a dress I saved

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Seventy-five

ARTHUR'S POVWhile Kelly was still hovering around the whole place and making my head hurt from talking, I sought a chance to talk to Elsa alone. I didn't like the fact that she was spending time with Elton. It was pretty obvious that he liked her. Possibly loved her because he looked goofy to me. I was still in deep thought, standing in the middle of the large library my father had spent a fortune to install in the house when I heard footsteps. Light ones so I instantly knew they didn't belong to Andrew. I peeked through the small hole in the shelves and I saw Elsa there, browsing through the historical book section.I cleared my throat before my eyes could wander, God knew they would. She turned around immediately, and her shoulders jerked."Hey. How have you been? How was your night?" Why was I suddenly asking all these weird questions I could see the answer to?"It was good. Good to all of them. How about you?""It was equally nice. I see you came to take hold of a nice read." Obv

NIA'S POVTraining with the Conbraids was becoming a part of me. It was a good reason to wake up every morning. Fight for your people as royalty and in your way, and see the face of the person you had steady dreams of. If Elsa had not talked sense into me, I would have still not given him a chance to talk and explain himself while we were in the same situation here. He was married and so was I, so why didn't I let him speak? I had decided to wait till it was an evening to talk to him, but I could no longer wait, I had to tell Elton to tell him I was waiting for him in the garden and that it was very urgent, something about my moves. It worked. As I saw him approaching me, I could feel my heartbeat plummet, and my hands sweat."Hey." He said, keeping a safe distance between us, a look of uncertainty on his face, who could blame him? I was the one who shooed him last night, right?"Hi. I need help with my... Um... moves thingy." I blurted out and his eyebrows rose, I almost palmed my fa

URSULA'S POVEverything was going fast. Incredibly. Even though Andrew was rushing our relationship, I felt something for him. I could safely say it was love. That feeling, but the further things went around here, the more uncertain I was. I stepped into the hallway and rushed to my bedroom, I opened the door only to see Kelly on top of Andrew, his hands on her arm. I couldn't tell if they were pushing her away or pulling her closer. My eyes had already seen the most important, or hurting. What were they even doing in my room? My eyes refused to meet Andrew's, not only because we weren't alone and I didn't want Kelly to have any suspicions, but because I also didn't want him to see the pain that lay raw in my eyes. I masked the hurt with a smile, it was one of the things I was good at after all, masking feelings."You guys are so funny, you didn't see anywhere else, but my room." I forced out a dry laugh, so humorless anyone with half-wit would know that something was up, not Kelly th

ELSA'S POVArthur and I had spoken recently so why couldn't I just get some rest? I hadn't given him a no or a yes and yet I was bothered about Emily. Kelly was still around though, making my every day a nightmare.I rushed downstairs when I could no longer hold what I longed to ask inside. I knocked on the door of Arthur's office when no one answered I knocked again, this time his baritone voice called out and ordered whomever it was in. I entered. He sat at his table, his spectacles on, and his laptop sat on top of the table as he tick-tacked away. He paused as he saw me, then smiled lightly and resumed again."Hey, Elsa.""Hi. I didn't even know you wear spectacles, are those real lenses?" I asked and he laughed and nodded."I do wear spectacles, I just try to keep them in here alone. I work with them and dispose of them. They make me feel old, older than I am." He joked and I laughed."They make you look great though.""Thank you." He said and we stayed there for a while, staring

ELSA'S POVBy the time it was evening, I was sickly tired waiting for Arthur to show up. He had boldly asked me not to come, that I should enjoy my day but if I was honest, I swear that I had done anything but enjoy today. Be anxious? sure. Get mad? Definitely. Shiver? Hmm-mm. Get happy a tad? Sure again. I had rocked and rocked and rocked, getting so tired of waiting that evening. I was about to go west my fancy jacket and go have this uncertain conversation with him that is scary with him when the door knob turned and I froze. Arthur came in and to my pleasure and displeasure, he wore a giant smile on his face probably happy that he could finally see me, honestly after my mini-investigation in the semi-afternoon, I was not so sure anymore."Hey, well... Aren't you a sight for sore eyes. A kiss?" He asked, walking towards me in such a hurry, you might mistake me for the breath of life. He looked so good and I knew I could get easily distracted by that but I chose not to. I rose a han

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Hundred and forty-six

ELSA'S POVOur wedding night had not been what I thought it was going to be. It was everything I imagined and more and the fact that I did not get any sleep was pleasing instead of stressful. When I opened my eyes the next morning, I could not find Arthur, I sat up, rubbing my eyes from the pleasing exhaustion at the same time. I looked around and if I was being honest just as I felt different, in a good way, the room looked different too. So different and good too. I flashed a smile to myself as I thought that of course it would look different because I was not in my room, I was in Arthur's room or if I was being accurate, I would say my room. I got up from the bed and walked swiftly to the mirror, naked. I looked at myself in the mirror and not only did I feel different, I looked different. There were hickeys on my neck and ear, it was certainly an interesting look. I wore the robe I found on Arthur's side of the bed, which was made and a white card that had little hearts on it. I

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Hundred and forty-five

ELSA'S POVThe big wedding was in motion. I mean the planning was in motion but it was the same thing. Most people were so surprised when Arthur gave the announcement that day. Shocked to the brim and beyond while some smiled and nodded their approval. The rest just glared at me as though they would have loved to stab me with a knife if it was allowed. Shreds. And I did not even blame them, I was still surprised myself. I was so excited just as I was anxious. I still had a baby growing in me and I did not know the father and I was freaking out. I could scratch my own eyes out. Just as the wedding planning was in set, so was my running away planning. I needed to flee with my head still intact."What are doing in here staring at the wall?" I turned and saw Nia standing at the door with an amused look on her face. I flashed her a smile and shook my head slowly, thinking of what to say. "Arthur has been smiling since yesterday, I am so surprised that his jaw is not been hurting yet." She

ELSA'S POVI had no idea that there was a cabin back here. When Emily directed me here it was like she had been blabbing. I had walked this whole place and this was the first time I was seeing this place. I guess the structure of the house was weird. I stood in front of the 'invisible' cabin and searched for the most important words at that moment. I knew the words I wanted to say were that I loved him so much, that l was willing to put away the paralysis of fear that held me down, and that I wanted to be his wife. That I was going to be his wife. That was the most important one. I took three bold and quiet steps up the small stair that had its wood painted red. Nice.My stomach rumbled in fear and my heart thudded against my chest. I raised my hands to knock and surprisingly on the first attempt it landed on the door with a very faint thud, produ

NIA'S POV"I wanted it to be a surprise for you. But I just needed something to give me an edge and make you listen to me. I love you and if staying here will make you believe it then I'm staying here and I'm not leaving. But that depends on what you think of it all. I need to be sure that you are comfortable with it. I don't want to shove anything down your throat and force you to want this just because I do. Do you understand?" He asked and I nodded. A big smile on my face."Woah. I love how you put things and I love that you are doing this for me. You have no idea how much it means to me, Silas. I have never been in love and most importantly I have never had someone love me to the extent of wanting to make a big change as big as what you just announced to make me happy. And I love you too. So much." I said and he closed his eyes for a moment, s

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Hundred and Forty-two

NIA'S POVThere he was. Silas, sat at the edge of the large rock everyone seemed to like. I smiled lightly at the cliche of happy things. I had searched everywhere for him, now that I think about it, why did I not search for him here before going to their tent area? Silly of me.I walked further into the space and I saw a striking blonde woman, who if I was being honest, I had nothing on. Why was Silas talking to this woman out here in the love garden? And why was I suddenly comparing this woman whom I did not know to myself? Insecurities were never a friend. Silas turned to look at them and immediately stood up, putting a clever distance between the both of them as if they were close. They were not. So why was he tripping?"Hey! Um... Hi." He said, grasping for words to say. I gave him a tight-lipped smile and nodded to tell him that I had heard the first greeting and he did not need to repeat it."Hi, if you have a company that would stay long then maybe I should come back, I was th

URSULA'S POV"Woah, mum. You are not selling my sister and definitely not the same man you sold me off to. I will not let that happen. If you need the money do bad and Dad can't control his silly problem and you love him so much, why don't you just go get married to Arthur yourself." I said they both gasped. Okay even though I was angry at that moment I had to admit it was nice to actually get a reaction from my father. He was such a doll sometimes. But apparently, he was not when he was being irresponsible with his money, ordering the servants and selling off his children."You dashed everything I once wanted for myself a few years ago and I am not going to let you do that to Sasha too. You do not even ask us what we want, or what we need. You just know that you have to get your money up and running. Did you ask her what she wanted?" I asked and my mother gestured behind me."She's right behind you and you can use your ears to hear that she was okay with it." I turned around and saw

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Hundred and Forty

URSULA'S POVWe all just sat there, no words being said. I guess maybe we were all basking in the memory we had spent in the house. I could not just let the house sell, it was unacceptable, that was where I had my first steps, and said my first words. I opened my mouth, then closed it again. Convinced that even if words were going to come out it was going to be all memories and not help anybody in the current situation we were in. A question finally came out."Um... So how did this happen and why was I not informed sooner?" I finally asked, tired. My family had no perks, only disadvantages. It was maddening and annoying."Well, we thought we could fix it on our own and still think we can fix it, we just need time and six days is no time." My mother said, looking over her shoulders at my father who still had his back on the chair. I wondered how he was still calm enough after all this bad news, it was his farm and he had a lot of land to use. I mean I would not go hungry, cannot. I was

URSULA'S POVThe smile that was on my face when I saw that Nia and Gloria were talking was very big. I wore a big smile on my face because that was enough proof to know that the story I had given her had worked. I wanted this meeting to have a very successful outcome and I knew that could not happen if the two key people involved could not deal with each other, it would not be a success. It would be a big disaster and I did not want that. Now that that seemed settled, I looked around, my eyes searching for Andrew. It was a dreaded day for Arthur, for everyone, but I bet he was with him. The event had already begun and the both of them were still not seen so I could bet that some pep talks were being carried out. There were a lot of faces here, a lot of young faces eager to be the lycan king's wife if only they knew that it was no fairytale but rather it was a nightmare I would bet my ass that they would not be here right now with big smiles on their faces.
