I crept down the stairs, my heart pounding in my chest. Every creak of the wooden steps made me jump, my nerves on edge as I tried to stay quiet. I didn't want to be caught, didn't want to face the wrath of the Lycan king or his minions.

As I made my way down, I couldn't help but notice how eerily quiet the house was. It was as if everyone had disappeared as if I was the only one left in the entire world. The silence was suffocating, and oppressive, and it made me feel even more alone than I already was.

The only thing that I could hear was the distant voices of the maids as they chatted away, probably dis

Every shadow seemed to jump out at me, every creak of the floorboards sending shivers down my spine. I felt like a mouse in a trap, a pawn in some cruel game that I didn't fully understand.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I paused, listening for any signs of movement. But there was nothing, no sound at all except for my breathing. It was as if the whole world had gone still, frozen in time.

I continued to creep through the house, trying to stay as quiet as possible. I didn't want to attract any attention, didn't want to give away my position. But every little noise seemed to echo through the empty halls, making me jump at every turn.

The silence was oppressive, almost palpable, and it made me feel like I was in some kind of haunted house. I half-expected ghosts or monsters to jump out at me from every corner, my heart racing with fear and anticipation.

But despite my terror, I was determined to keep going, to find a way out of this nightmare. I knew that it wouldn't be easy and that I would have to be brave and resourceful if I wanted to escape. But I was ready for whatever lay ahead, confident that I could find a way to freedom.

As I crept through the silent house, my mind racing with thoughts of escape, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. I didn't know what the future held, but I was determined to face it head-on.

But just as I was about to reach the bottom of the stairs, I was startled by the sudden appearance of a beautiful woman. She was one of the Lycan's third wives, and I couldn't help but stare at her in shock and awe.

As I stood before the Lycan's third wife, I could feel her piercing gaze raking over me with disgust and contempt. The hatred in her eyes was palpable, almost suffocating in its intensity.

It was as if she could see right through me as if she knew all of my deepest, darkest secrets. I felt exposed and vulnerable under her gaze, like a tiny insect trapped under a magnifying glass.

Every inch of her body seemed to be radiating animosity, from the tense set of her shoulders to the rigid line of her jaw. It was clear that she despised me, that she viewed me as an unwelcome intruder in her world.

And yet, even as I cowered before her, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by her beauty. She was like a living work of art, with a regal bearing and an otherworldly grace that seemed to defy description.

But despite her beauty, I knew that I was in grave danger. There was no mistaking the lethal intent in her eyes, the way she seemed to be sizing me up like a predator assessing its prey.

I tried to keep my fear at bay, maintain my composure, and appear as confident as possible. But it was a futile effort. In the face of such unrelenting hostility, I felt like a leaf buffeted by the winds of a hurricane.

All I could do was stand there and wait, my heart pounding in my chest, as the Lycan's third wife continued to glare at me with undisguised loathing.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice dripping with venom.

For a moment, I was paralyzed with fear. I had no idea how to answer her question, no idea how to explain my presence in this strange and hostile world.

But then, with a surge of courage, I spoke up. "My n…name is Elsa," I stuttered, trying to keep my voice steady.

It was a lie, of course, but I knew that I had to say something to deflect her suspicions. The woman looked at me skeptically, as if she could see right through my lies.

"You're lying," she said, her voice cold and calculating. "I can smell your fear. You're hiding something from me."

I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized just how perceptive this woman was. She was a Lycan, after all, with heightened senses and incredible powers. She could probably sense my every thought and emotion.

But even as I stood there, trembling with fear, I knew that I couldn't back down. I had to keep up the charade, no matter what.

"I swear, I'm not hiding anything," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

The woman stared at me for what felt like an eternity, her eyes boring into mine with searing scrutiny.

As she continued to stare at me with her cold, steely gaze, I couldn't help but feel a small glimmer of hope. At least someone was talking to me, even if it was with disdain and disgust.

After being ignored and glared at by the other maids, this interaction felt like a small victory. It was a sign that maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to survive in this unfamiliar and hostile world.

But even as I clung to this faint hope, I knew deep down that I was still in grave danger. The Lycan's third wife was a powerful and influential figure in this community, and if she decided that I was a threat, there was little I could do to stop her.

Still, I tried my best to appear calm and composed, even as my heart raced with fear and uncertainty. I knew that any sign of weakness could be interpreted as a sign of vulnerability, and I couldn't afford to let my guard down for even a moment.

My disappointment was palpable as the Lycan's third wife scoffed at me and walked away without another word. I had foolishly allowed myself to hope that maybe, just maybe, she would be willing to help me or at least speak with me.

But instead, she had treated me with the same disdain and disgust as the other maids. It was clear that in this world, I was an outsider, someone to be feared and shunned.

As I watched her retreating figure, a sense of frustration and despair washed over me. It seemed like no matter what I did, I was constantly hitting a wall. Every attempt to connect with someone or find a way out was met with cold indifference or outright hostility.

I continued to walk slowly down the hallway, my heart pounding in my chest. Even though I knew that the Lycan's third wife was already out of sight, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched or followed. Every creak of the floorboards or rustle of the curtains sent a chill down my spine, making me jump at even the slightest noise.

As I walked, my thoughts began to race, and I couldn't help but wonder what the woman's true intentions were. Was she simply curious about my presence, or was she planning to report me to the Alpha or harm him in any way at all? And if she did, what would happen to me then? I shuddered at the thought, my mind conjuring up all sorts of terrible scenarios.

Suddenly, I found myself rooted to the spot, my feet refusing to move any further. I looked around nervously, trying to see if anyone was watching me, but the hallway was empty. Nevertheless, I felt like I was being suffocated by the heavy silence around me, and the darkness seemed to be closing in on me from all sides.

It was then that I realized just how alone and vulnerable I truly was in this strange new world. I had no allies, no friends, and no one I could trust. Even my memories were a jumbled mess, leaving me with more questions than answers.

As I stood there, frozen in fear, I knew that life had done me dirty by bringing me here.

But it was too late for lamentations now. I had already been thrown into this journey, and there was no turning back. All I could do was try to survive, no matter what dangers lay ahead.

With a deep breath, I forced myself to continue down the hallway, my footsteps hesitant at first, but gradually growing more confident.

  • The Rejected Luna's Return   Chapter Eight

ALPHA'S POV.I walked through the corridors, my thoughts still reeling from what had happened last night. I couldn't believe what had transpired between Elsa and me. The way she had resisted me had caught me off guard, and I was left feeling disappointed and confused. As I made my way to the garden, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of my stomach. I had always heard that Elsa had no wolf, and yet she had exhibited a level of power that I had not expected. The way she had fought back had been both surprising and intriguing. When I reached the garden, I sat down on one of the benches and closed my eyes, trying to calm my racing thoughts. I could still feel the pull of her wolf, the way it had resisted me as if it knew that I was not the right mate for Elsa. It was a strange feeling, one that I had never experienced before. I opened my eyes and looked up at the moon, wondering if it held the answer to my questions. I had always believed that the mo

ALPHA'S POV."Is there anything with her? You women find it hard to keep your lips sealed. And what are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here, are you?"The anger was quick to surface when my wife approached me with her questions. She had no right to come and ask me such things, she should have known better."Sorry, darling." She apologized profusely, moving closer, she tried to touch me in what she thought was a seductive manner.I stood there, my gaze cold and hard as she stood before me with a smirk on her lips. Her hands ran lightly over my body, tracing the contours of my chest and abdomen in a slow, gentle dance. I felt my body tense beneath her touch, but she refused to break eye contact, determined to make her seduction complete. The light touch of her fingers made me quiver and I could feel the heat emanating from her skin as she pressed her body against mine. She moved closer still, her breath hot on my neck as she inhaled my scent. Her hands moved slowly up my side

ALPHA'S ARTHUR'S POV.I retired to my room for the night, feeling the chill in the air as I stepped away from the warmth of the fire. The crackling sound of the logs burning slowly in the fireplace filled the room, and I could feel the shadows creeping in around me. I stood there for a moment, taking in the silence, and wondering if I should go see Elsa.I couldn't get her out of my mind, no matter how hard I tried. She was unlike any other woman I had encountered, and I found myself drawn to her. I wanted to know everything about her, to understand her better. But then, I remembered her roar, the one that had scared me when we were about to mate.I couldn't forget that moment, no matter how much I tried. It was the only thing that had ever scared me, even as a toddler. I shook my head, trying to push away the memory, but it lingered. I wondered what it was about her that made her do that, and if it was a warning of some sort.I took a seat by the fireplace, warming myself by the fire

ELSA'S POV. I found myself in a dark and deserted place, the air was thick with the stench of fear and desperation. Suddenly, I saw her, a stranger, calling out to me, pleading for help. Her eyes were filled with terror as she ran towards me, her voice hoarse with desperation."Please, help me," she cried out, tears streaming down her face. "He's coming for me. I don't want to die."I felt the weight of her fear crushing me, and I tried to run, but my feet were rooted to the spot. The stranger reached out to me, her fingers barely brushing mine before she disappeared into the darkness.Suddenly, I saw my father, battered and bruised, begging for mercy. He was in the clutches of a monster, a monster that I know I should be able to defeat. But I was frozen, unable to move, unable to do anything as my father screamed in agony.I felt a cold sweat break out on my skin as I watched the scene unfold before me. The monster loomed over my father, ready to deliver the final blow. I tried to s

ALPHA'S POV.The night was dark and still, the only sound coming from the crickets outside my window. But even the soothing sound of nature wasn't enough to calm my restless mind. I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to see Elsa. Ever since she arrived in our territory, I couldn't get her out of my mind. It was like she had cast a spell on me, a spell that I couldn't break free from. It wasn't just her beauty or her strength that captivated me, but it was something more. Something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I tossed and turned in my bed, trying to find a comfortable position, but nothing seemed to work. I knew I had to see her, to talk to her, but I didn't know how. I couldn't just barge into her room in the middle of the night, it wasn't proper. And yet, I couldn't ignore this feeling inside me. I got out of bed and walked to the window, staring out at the dark forest. The moon was full, casting an eerie glow over the trees. I wondered if Elsa was awake too and

I could feel my heart racing in my chest, pounding so hard that it felt like it was about to burst. My whole body was trembling, and my mind was racing with thoughts of what could be happening to me. I was struggling with all my might against the iron grip that held me firmly in place, but it was no use. The person was too strong, and I couldn't move an inch.I whimpered in terror as I felt his grip tighten even further, his fingers digging into my skin. I could feel my breaths becoming more and more labored, my chest heaving as I gasped for air. All I could think about was how helpless and vulnerable I was in this situation, and I couldn't even see who was holding me.The darkness that surrounded us seemed to close in, suffocating me and making it even harder to breathe. My mind raced with a million different scenarios, each one more terrifying than the last. Was this it? Was I going to die here, alone and scared, with no one to save me?I tried to speak, to beg for mercy or at least

As I descended from the upper floor, my mind was already filled with a thousand thoughts. The fact that Elsa had disappeared was like a weight on my shoulders, and I couldn't help but feel responsible for her safety. I had to find her, no matter what. But as I reached the ground floor, I was met not by Nia, but by Ursula. My heart sank as I realized that I would not be getting any information from her. Ursula was always so indifferent, with her hands crossed over her chest and an expression that gave away nothing.I wanted to ask her if she had seen Elsa, but I knew it would be pointless. Ursula was not the kind of person who would give me a straight answer. Instead, I tried to read her expression, hoping to find some clue as to where Nia might be. But there was nothing, just that same blank stare. As I looked at Ursula, her demeanor was telling me that she was being dramatic because of what had happened between us the last time. I could see the pettiness in her eyes, and I knew that

ALPHA ARTHUR'S POV.As I stood there at the gate, confusion and anger burning within me, I realized I had no idea what to do next. My mind was racing with questions, doubts, and fears. Where could Elsa have gone? Was she taken by someone? Why didn't anyone see her? I had so many unanswered questions, and I didn't know who to trust. And the fact that nobody had any positive answers to my questions had me pissed off so much that I wanted to punch something to relieve my anger or take my wolf for a very long run. I could feel my wolf simmering below the surface as the whole thing happened. I growled at him to be still but he was far from that. Moments like this when he grew agitated left me with no choice other than to find the source of his discomfort.Turning towards the guards, I asked them, "Have any of you seen Elsa? Where did she go?"They all looked at each other, and one of them spoke up, "No, my Lord. We haven't seen her. We don't know where she went."I felt my blood boil. "Th

ELSA'S POVBy the time it was evening, I was sickly tired waiting for Arthur to show up. He had boldly asked me not to come, that I should enjoy my day but if I was honest, I swear that I had done anything but enjoy today. Be anxious? sure. Get mad? Definitely. Shiver? Hmm-mm. Get happy a tad? Sure again. I had rocked and rocked and rocked, getting so tired of waiting that evening. I was about to go west my fancy jacket and go have this uncertain conversation with him that is scary with him when the door knob turned and I froze. Arthur came in and to my pleasure and displeasure, he wore a giant smile on his face probably happy that he could finally see me, honestly after my mini-investigation in the semi-afternoon, I was not so sure anymore."Hey, well... Aren't you a sight for sore eyes. A kiss?" He asked, walking towards me in such a hurry, you might mistake me for the breath of life. He looked so good and I knew I could get easily distracted by that but I chose not to. I rose a han

ELSA'S POVOur wedding night had not been what I thought it was going to be. It was everything I imagined and more and the fact that I did not get any sleep was pleasing instead of stressful. When I opened my eyes the next morning, I could not find Arthur, I sat up, rubbing my eyes from the pleasing exhaustion at the same time. I looked around and if I was being honest just as I felt different, in a good way, the room looked different too. So different and good too. I flashed a smile to myself as I thought that of course it would look different because I was not in my room, I was in Arthur's room or if I was being accurate, I would say my room. I got up from the bed and walked swiftly to the mirror, naked. I looked at myself in the mirror and not only did I feel different, I looked different. There were hickeys on my neck and ear, it was certainly an interesting look. I wore the robe I found on Arthur's side of the bed, which was made and a white card that had little hearts on it. I

ELSA'S POVThe big wedding was in motion. I mean the planning was in motion but it was the same thing. Most people were so surprised when Arthur gave the announcement that day. Shocked to the brim and beyond while some smiled and nodded their approval. The rest just glared at me as though they would have loved to stab me with a knife if it was allowed. Shreds. And I did not even blame them, I was still surprised myself. I was so excited just as I was anxious. I still had a baby growing in me and I did not know the father and I was freaking out. I could scratch my own eyes out. Just as the wedding planning was in set, so was my running away planning. I needed to flee with my head still intact."What are doing in here staring at the wall?" I turned and saw Nia standing at the door with an amused look on her face. I flashed her a smile and shook my head slowly, thinking of what to say. "Arthur has been smiling since yesterday, I am so surprised that his jaw is not been hurting yet." She

ELSA'S POVI had no idea that there was a cabin back here. When Emily directed me here it was like she had been blabbing. I had walked this whole place and this was the first time I was seeing this place. I guess the structure of the house was weird. I stood in front of the 'invisible' cabin and searched for the most important words at that moment. I knew the words I wanted to say were that I loved him so much, that l was willing to put away the paralysis of fear that held me down, and that I wanted to be his wife. That I was going to be his wife. That was the most important one. I took three bold and quiet steps up the small stair that had its wood painted red. Nice.My stomach rumbled in fear and my heart thudded against my chest. I raised my hands to knock and surprisingly on the first attempt it landed on the door with a very faint thud, produ

I love you and if staying here will make you believe it then I'm staying here and I'm not leaving. But that depends on what you think of it all. I need to be sure that you are comfortable with it. I don't want to shove anything down your throat and force you to want this just because I do. Do you understand?" He asked and I nodded. A big smile on my face."Woah. I love how you put things and I love that you are doing this for me. You have no idea how much it means to me, Silas. NIA'S POVThere he was. Silas, sat at the edge of the large rock everyone seemed to like. I smiled lightly at the cliche of happy things. I had searched everywhere for him, now that I think about it, why did I not search for him here before going to their tent area? Silly of me.I walked further into the space and I saw a striking blonde woman, who if I was being honest, I had nothing on. Why was Silas talking to this woman out here in the love garden? And why was I suddenly comparing this woman whom I did not know to myself? Insecurities were never a friend. Silas turned to look at them and immediately stood up, putting a clever distance between the both of them as if they were close. They were not. So why was he tripping?"Hey! Um... Hi." He said, grasping for words to say. I gave him a tight-lipped smile and nodded to tell him that I had heard the first greeting and he did not need to repeat it."Hi, if you have a company that would stay long then maybe I should come back, I was th

Okay even though I was angry at that moment I had to admit it was nice to actually get a reaction from my father. He was such a doll sometimes. But apparently, he was not when he was being irresponsible with his money, ordering the servants and selling off his children."You dashed everything I once wanted for myself a few years ago and I am not going to let you do that to Sasha too. You do not even ask us what we want, or what we need. You just know that you have to get your money up and running. Did you ask her what she wanted?" URSULA'S POVWe all just sat there, no words being said. I guess maybe we were all basking in the memory we had spent in the house. I could not just let the house sell, it was unacceptable, that was where I had my first steps, and said my first words. I opened my mouth, then closed it again. Convinced that even if words were going to come out it was going to be all memories and not help anybody in the current situation we were in. A question finally came out."Um... So how did this happen and why was I not informed sooner?" I finally asked, tired. My family had no perks, only disadvantages. It was maddening and annoying."Well, we thought we could fix it on our own and still think we can fix it, we just need time and six days is no time." My mother said, looking over her shoulders at my father who still had his back on the chair. I wondered how he was still calm enough after all this bad news, it was his farm and he had a lot of land to use. I mean I would not go hungry, cannot. I was

It was a dreaded day for Arthur, for everyone, but I bet he was with him.
