BLOOM’S POV
The storm was raging outside as I walked down the corridor. Drenched from being outside, my hair plastered across my face, and my dress hugged my body like a second skin. Aware that it was midnight and I had been working in the rain from evening until now, I walked forward, needing to rest before the day broke, but because my body was weak, my movements were slow.As I walked, my chest began to ache. I ignored it cause it was subtle, but as it got more intense, I stopped so I could breathe. That made it worse. As I sucked in a breath of air, I hissed in pain and fell to the ground on one knee. I clutched a hand to my chest, wheezing as I thought, What the heck is this pain, and where is it coming from?My breathing became heavy and I couldn’t even open my mouth to call out for help. Not that anyone would come anyway. I was thinking that when suddenly I heard a sound. Moaning sounds.Right away, I realized what it was: A connection with my ex-mate. The one who rejected me because I didn’t agree with him. He felt no ache or pain because he already had it in mind that he was not entitled to me but to somebody else.He was with someone else.My heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest. The slapping of skin, the groans, grunts, the whimpering, I heard them all. No. I had to stop this… I needed to stop them before he claimed her as his. With excruciating pain, I dragged myself off the floor and began to run as fast as I could, stumbling several times but still not stopping as I moved toward the sound. He can’t claim her. If he does, it would kill me. I continued ahead with that thought on my mind, getting closer to the sound. Only when I got to the door where the sound was coming from did I stop? Not giving it a second thought, I pushed open the door in time to see my ex-mate with his fangs out ready to bite the woman’s neck.“No!” I fell to my knees as I watched the girl with him raise her head in pleasure.Lightening struck at that moment, giving the room a gothic look.It was only two of them, and the girl’s hair caught my eye. Even though the blond was hard to miss, I hoped she wasn’t the person I suspected, but at that point, she turned in my direction with eyes closed in pleasure, and my heart dropped. My heart clenched and I felt like I was about to give up on my life at the moment. I was so hurt. He could have at least waited till I was over it. Could have considered that it would hurt me, no matter how in need of release he was. Also, the fact he was with a girl wasn’t what hurt me the most. What did was the fact that the girl was Cecily, my rival. The last person I ever wanted my ex-mate to choose over me.I had lost my voice, and even though the pain had become unbearable, I stood up and ran, not caring that they had most likely seen me. Not looking back, I ran out of the Omega’s chambers and to the gate. I heard the bell ring. It only rang during an emergency to warn when an omega was trying to escape.Cecily. I didn’t need anyone to tell me that she had rang the bell.I ran as fast as I could, not looking back, all the while trying to call on my wolf, but I received quietness in reply. Then the bell to the palace rang. Damn. They had caught me trying to escape. Being the Alpha’s daughter wasn’t something that did me any good.Being barefoot, I stumbled and pricked my legs on the stones numerous times, but I couldn’t stop. Not when I knew that getting caught meant I would be thrown into the dungeon. If I thought my life was hard before, the dungeon would make it look like child’s play. At that, I couldn’t pay any mind to my legs bleeding and hurting. The rain was not helping matters. It was hard to even see in front of me, plus I was freezing.Turning to look back, I found that I was being followed by a couple of hefty-looking men. You’re doomed. Although that thought came to mind, I wasn’t willing to give up.Now I had reached outside of the Pack territory, I headed into the forest, praying to the moon goddess as I ran not to let my wolf fail me.Under the glowing light of the moon, I felt a surge of energy and tried to awaken my wolf. She staggered within me like she was drunk. When last had I run into the woods? When last had I let my wolf free?It wasn’t as though I hadn’t wanted to, but my father didn’t allow me. The first time I shifted was the last time I did. After that day, I was maltreated and given little to eat. I endured all that—the pain, the wounds, the abuse—I tolerated it all, but I wanted to be free, to be loved, but where was I going to receive that? The man that birthed me didn’t give me that love. The people around me didn’t show me that love, but still, I longed for it.I heard their footsteps chasing after me, but the newfound energy in me caused my wolf to growl. That was when I knew that I was ready to shift. Wasting no time, I let my wolf take over.My wolf came to life, and I heard and felt my bones crackling as I shifted. In wolf form, I ran faster than I had in human form, feeling alive and free. I heard growls behind me and figured that the men chasing after me had also shifted.I ran deeper into the woods feeling great, unlike anything I had ever felt before. Now, I felt like nothing could ever stop me. Never before had I felt this free with myself or my wolf. I had forever been in a cage. And just when I thought I was about to get a breakthrough from all the torture and pain, a brute force pushed me to the ground. My wolf howled at the pain of her skin crashing against the harshness of the ground.Tried as I did, but I couldn’t escape and was held by the neck. Looking at the other wolves, I was smaller compared to them, so I was carried effortlessly back to the Pack. From the sharpness of the fang and canines, I knew it was my father. He was the largest wolf in the Pack, so I didn’t dare to move and succumbed to him. He dropped me right in the middle of the Pack and growled ferociously at me.I was dead meat, I knew, even as more wolves gathered, snarling at me, in support of the Alpha. With the way my father was glaring at me, I immediately shifted to human form. He and the whole of his crew shifted into their human form staring down at me while I lay on the ground.“Take her to the torture room,” my father ordered.Wasting no time, his guards jumped to follow his orders and dragged me to the dungeon. They pushed the door open, dragged and dumped me in a corner of the room.My eyes widened as I looked around, and the realization hit that I couldn’t escape from their clutches this time. The room was full of torture tools, and I knew from the dried blood splattered all around the room that I was doomed. So many people had died here. I was beyond terrified. When my ruthless father came in, fear struck me hard. I didn’t know what he was going to do to me as punishment for my trying to escape.I watched him walk up to where the weapons were hanging and pick a whip.I sat there, horrified. I knew what my father could do but to the extent of disgracing me in front of the entire Pack without caring about my mental health. It made me freeze. I felt nothing but terror at what my father was about to do.As he moved closer, I felt more ashamed, hurt, and alone than I had ever felt.My father raised the whip, and the moment it connected with my skin, it didn’t feel like any other hit he had given me before. This was more unbearable. My scream couldn’t even leave my throat. My whole body slacked, and I couldn’t move. The feeling was like broken bottles piercing into my fragile skin.“Get the cloth.” My father turned to one of the guards with an order. Collecting the piece of fabric the guard gave him, my father moved nearer to me, and with a look of contempt, he rubbed it wildly over my bruises.I let out a scream.ALPHA GREY’S POVHe declared war. I smirked at the paper in my hand. Alpha Alaric of Orion Pack was declaring war on my Pack? Who did he think I was? A chuckle escaped my lips as I continued reading the letter. I glanced at my beta, Lewis, who was normally quiet throughout the day. I always wondered what was going on in his head. He was an ever-reasonable type. He and Leo had the same personality. It was just that my beta was more reserved. How did I provoke the Alpha of Orion? All I did was refuse to marry his daughter. And he sent me this? “Get the troops ready,” I instructed my beta, and with a bow, he dismissed himself to go carry out my order. Orion Pack could strike overnight, and I didn’t want to be caught unawares. I rose from my seat and paced my room, thinking of how wonderful the opportunity was for me. Since my pack was second in the ranking, if I defeated the Alpha of Orion, we would move up to first place. What Alpha Alaric thought was my downfall would be his demis
ALPHA GREY’S POVWith a little effort, I pushed Stefan off me. My warriors stood tall, fighting against the Orion Pack. Two black Alphas growled at each other with desperate hatred. I charged fast, lunging at Alaric with swiftness and precise attack. He met my attack head-on. Our ferocious battle was like dancing to a deadly symphony. Every move was calculated and powerful. I delivered bone-crushing bones with my powerful claws and jaws. I was also quick to deflect every of Alaric’s attacks. It was just as I thought. He was no match for me. And even though he was skillful, I still had the upper hand. In his desperation for me to marry his daughter, he had underestimated my strength because his Pack was ranked higher than mine. This is what Alaric got for thinking that he could go against me.I moved swiftly, not giving him any chance to stop and catch a breath. I had the upper hand, so I pinned Alaric momentarily with my immense strength. My resilience was unmatched, as I always b
BLOOM’S POV Delivering a message to a neighboring Pack was something I never thought I’d be sent to do. I’d never been to any Pack other than the one I lived in. And honestly, I didn’t want to go since I was going to be passing through the dangerous woods. A werewolf should be happy to enter the woods, but I wasn’t because this was part of the torture. I didn’t feel safe entering the woods, but who was I to go against my father's orders? And Cecily seeing that I was leaving the Pack on my father’s orders, threw a basket to me that I dared not catch before telling me to get some wild berries from the woods. With my hand wrapped around the basket handle, I headed into the woods that led to a Pack called Orion Pack. As much as I wanted to be free, the truth is, there was no hope for me anymore. All I wanted was to live an ordinary life, but I had finally accepted that I couldn’t have that. I was weak, and my spirit shattered. I saw no life beyond the one I currently had. The forest
ALPHA GREY’S POVI groaned as I woke up. Sniffing the air, I frowned as I smelled feminine innocence emitting from my body. Examining my body, I realized I had completely healed from the injuries inflicted on me the other night. How did that happen? Then, memories of the last night began to flash through my head. From the betrayal to the fight with Orion’s Pack, then the defeat. Running into the woods, the stabbing, the sex… Huh? I paused. Yesterday night I had been out of my mind and had no idea what I was doing, but I must have slept with a woman the other night. Flashbacks from the moment appeared in my head. She moaned with pleasure as I bit her on the shoulder.Wait. I sat up. It could only mean one thing if I had bitten that woman: she was my mate. I nearly cussed. That's what I had tried all my life to avoid. Having a mate was the last thing I needed right now. And now I had a mate who had taken advantage of me the other night. I got up from where I was. I needed to head ba
BLOOM’S POVWhen I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. How did I get here? I tried to look around. Moments ago, I was at Orion Pack delivering a message. That was all I remembered. I must have blacked out. But why?“Quite early, aren’t you?” I jumped at the interruption by a familiar voice and turned sideways to see Cecily with her signature sneer. Why the hell was she here? Fear caught in my throat as I tried to think of all the possible reasons she would be here.“Oh, you should thank your stars that I followed you, Bloom, or you would have died. Basically, I saved your life.” I kept silent, terror rising as I watched her pace back and forth with an amused expression. She chuckled a few times while sniffing the air, and then, the ball dropped. Sniff. “Is that a masculine scent I smell off you?” My heart jumped to my throat, and I started to quiver. Opening my mouth, I tried to speak, tried to say something to defend myself, but couldn’t. “Because I knew I heard sounds last night
BLOOM’S POVThe moon festival was fast approaching, and every person in the Pack had been tasked with doing something. It was two weeks after being tortured, and while I was allowed to move around the Pack, my hands and legs had been chained. That way, I wouldn’t be able to run away.Like a slave, I moved around bound, the clanging of my chains notifying everyone of my appearance and keeping them away from me. One of the significances of the chains was that I was a disgrace therefore, no mated or unmated male wolf was permitted to take more of a glance at me. It also meant I was ineligible for marriage because I tarnished mine and my father’s name. That wasn’t all. After the torture, my father had ordered the guards to drag me out, and in front of all the Pack members, disowned me as his daughter. For whoring myself to an unwanted male, I was no longer his daughter. Did it hurt when unmated males ignored me and walked past me like I was a plague? Yes, but that wasn’t the worst part. J
BLOOM’S POVAs the moon festival began, the Pack was illuminated by the moon. Celestial orbs cast their glowing beams upon the surroundings. Captivating sights shimmered and came alive under their ethereal touches. Lanterns floated gracefully, illuminating the darkness with their tender radiance. The stars sparkled and twinkled in harmony, and fireflies danced in the air, casting mesmerizing glows upon the atmosphere.I heard the howling of wolves, the music and the beating of drums, and the moving of feet to the beat. Tonight was my chance. I couldn’t stay here for another moment. I would finally say goodbye to the Pack that has shown me so much physical and emotional pain. Staying another moment longer would be the end of my life. Inside my room, I looked out the window, seeing that the entire Pack members had gathered. It was an unlawful thing for anyone to miss the moon ritual. I found myself on the edge of desperation. After all the years of torment and excruciation, my plan to
BLOOM’S POVThe sun peeked through the curtains, and my eyes fluttered open to find myself lying on a bed. It was comfortable and warm, which was unfamiliar to me. I smiled. For the first time in my life, I woke up comfortably. I didn’t wake up due to cold water splashed on my face or bullied out of my sleep to work for others. Everything was fine. Well, except that my hands and legs were tied.Looking further into the room, I was startled when I noticed a man standing by the window. His tall and commanding figure cast a shadow upon the floor. He wasn’t facing me, but his back possessed beauty and majesty, making it impossible for me to tear my eyes away. There was that connection again. I couldn’t explain it. The cosmic force that pulled two souls together in divine union. My mind screamed that he was the one I slept with that night. I didn’t think I would set my eyes on him again.I flinched a little when I felt aches in my body. I looked down at my body and saw my wounds had been t
GREYSomeone was crying. Whoever it was, I knew it was because of me, so I tried to open my eyes to see what the matter was, but when I felt a wave of pain go through me, I held my breath and waited for the pain to subside for what seemed like an eternity. Then I tried again. This time, I was successful. Bloom. She sat in a chair beside me, her head in my hands as she sobbed. “Bloom?” My voice didn’t sound like me. It sounded gravely and thin. Her head lifted as she gasped. I saw the moment her expression changed from worry to relief. “Grey? You’re awake?” I gave her a small nod and didn’t say anything. I held her hand, and I knew she understood me. “What about the Pack? And everyone?”“They’re all safe. You defeated our worst enemies,” Bloom said and I nodded just as the memories of the battle flooded back to me. The pain of Orion’s clawing through me came back. I didn’t even realize how Orion’s presence had been weighing heavily on me, but now that he was gone, I was finally able
GREYCapturing the children and women while I was still here? What sort of a sick plan was that? It seemed like I’d been too easy on Orion for him to think he could get away with that. Well, he had another thing coming. “Are the weapons ready?” “Yes, Alpha!” My army of wolves chorused. I got up from where I was and led them toward Orion Pack. They planned to evade ours anyway, why shouldn’t we do the same to them? When we arrived, not only were Orion’s wolves waiting, but also the rogues. “You could have chosen to do this in a better way, you know that Alpha Orion? You just had to get on my nerves.” I looked at the wolves and they didn’t waste any time in lighting the Pack up. We were going to be exactly like the rogues this evening and no-fucking-body was going to stop us. “Do you think I’m going to give in?” Alpha Orion roared from his balcony, his eyes glowing red with rage. “We will fight back!” His wolves were taken aback by his sudden change in attitude, even the Pack members
BLOOMGrey and I followed after Ray to find out what he was talking about, and were met with a shocking scene. He led us into a room, and as he closed the door behind us. Other than a lamp on the table, it was completely dark. But that wasn’t the surprising part. That would be Angie tied to a chair. Turning sideways slightly to look at Grey, I thought, What plan did they have up their sleeves this time?“I just found out the truth,” Ray said. “The child in her womb isn’t yours, Alpha Grey, she has only been trying to get you to marry her.” It was a blatant lie but Ray had no idea we knew the truth. Where was he headed with this? I looked at him briefly before fixing my gaze back on Angie. What did they have up their sleeves now?“She lied about you getting her pregnant so her child can take ownership of your seat before anyone else’s,” Ray added, and while I already knew this, it didn’t stop me feeling angry. Leaning forward, I grabbed her jaw, looking her in the eyes. It was then I
GREY“You know who this letter is from, Grey. I gave you an option of leaving your Pack peacefully, I guess you have turned down my kindness. Now I have no choice but to show you what I can do. Need I remind you that before now I’ve known and watched you for years? It goes without saying that I know your moves, every single one of them. I’ll invade your Pack relentlessly. Take this letter as a warning of what is to come. You’ve been a thorn in my side right from the time I used to be under your command. I made plans I was sure would completely destroy you and your Pack. How you survived remains a miracle… No, I’m certain your pretty little mate helped you with that. I should have stabbed you harder that day in the forest. Anyways, as you might already know, Leo, Stephan, and I plotted your downfall with the help of the Alpha of Orion. He supported us, giving us the power we needed to destroy your Pack. Now, I won’t back down until you’re six feet below the earth, Grey, and this time
BLOOMAs I shared what I heard with Grey, he stared straight at the wall with an expression of fury. Who could blame him for that reaction when he just found out the woman who claimed to be carrying his child, a child he had been fully prepared to accept, was lying to him? And not just that, but the actual father happened to be his Beta, Ray. “I knew there was something off about him.”I sat next to him, placing my hand on top of his. “Please before handling this case, you need to first be calm.”He turned to me with an angry look, but I knew it wasn’t directed at me. “He’s trying to have you by all means. You don’t expect me to sit and watch.”“We have more pressing matters at hand, Grey. They might have plotted against you, but they’re not dumb to believe they don’t need you. Think about it. The issue of the rogues is still on the ground so they can’t act without thinking. They’ll have to wait for the right time,” I explained. “Let’s also be strategic. I understand how you feel. I a
BLOOMUpon getting back to the Pack with Grey, I had reached the top of the stairs when I heard a feminine exclamation and turned around to see Angie clinging to Grey like a damsel in distress. Grey’s face was pulled back as he looked at her with disdain. Physical touches in general made him uncomfortable, so to be touched by someone he didn’t like must feel highly unpleasant.“I’ve not been feeling good these days, and still, you don’t pay me any attention. Do you still not believe the child I’m carrying is yours?”My hands squeezed into fists by my side and I gritted my teeth as I watched Angie caress Grey’s arms while batting her eyelashes. I was about to walk down the stairs and pull her away from him when someone caught my arm. Looking back, I saw Rich shaking his head at me. He seemed to know that if I got close enough to her, I might kill her. I couldn’t stand watching her do that to him. Just as I wanted to pull out of Rich’s hold, a growl echoed in the air and everything wen
BLOOMThe next morning, Grey and I set out for Montrose Pack after receiving news of a rogue attack. Upon our arrival, I was shocked at the sight we met. The rogues' attack had completely brought down the place. They left nothing standing. They had left so many survivors. Tears filled my eyes as I looked around. While this place had never been a home to me, it was still where I grew up and spent most of my life in, so it left me feeling broken. As I got to the place where the Alpha’s mansion once stood, my vision became blurry with tears. Most of the building had been reduced to debris. Remembering that my father used to keep a diary, I shifted into my wolf and sniffed the ground, searching for the book in the ruins. I moved through the rubble in my wolf form, my heightened senses picking up on scents, most of them being my father’s. As my paws trod upon the scorched ground, I spotted a fragment of charred wood that was etched with familiar markings and knew it was a scorched corner
BLOOMMy mind was on Angie. There was no telling what she was up to, and as much as I wanted to keep an eye on her every moment, I didn’t have any time for that. My gaze returned back to my sleeping child. My precious daughter, my Angel who I wanted to protect. I reached out to touch her toes when the door opened and Grey walked in. The weariness on his face and his tousled hair all pointed to the fact that he’d been up all night, but somehow even with all that, he still managed to look so attractive. After kissing me on the lips, he put out a finger to touch our daughter’s face, before sitting next to me on the bed and resting his head on my lap. “Did you find anything out last night?” I asked as I ran my fingers slowly through his hair. “Hmm.” Grey nodded. “Ray got more information about the rogue camp, and it was just as I thought. It’s clear now that Lewis is the leader of the rogues. We can’t just sit back and watch without doing anything. We need to strategize a way to capture
Bloom's PovGrey looked like he was a second away from ripping her head off. I was very sure that was the exact look I had on my face as well. I had people behind me anyways, that stopped me from making any further movements towards her. Like what the fuck?! I glared at her and could just imagine throwing her to the wall without caring whether or not she had a child. But I had to control my urges before I did something I'd regret. My wolf growled in my head. I pushed her back so she wouldn't take control of my body. This fool was trying to get my man to look at her. And here I was doing nothing about it. I growled while the guards were ready to hold me when the need be. They knew I'd kill her without effort. She stayed there staring innocently like a damsel in distress. What the fuck was she even thinking. That she can take my place? As what exactly? The Luna?"Get the fuck out of this place Angie," Grey growled. Even his wolf threatened to show up if Grey did nothing about this. But
