GREY’S POV

My mate had been staying in the room next to mine for a few days, and I was more restless than I’d been in a long time. The fact that I could feel her emotions because of the mate bond drove me crazy.

For the most part, she was jumpy, so I intentionally spent more time in the office to avoid her. It didn’t work. She took up my thoughts during my free time. I couldn’t help but be annoyed that she was messing up my plan.

There were a lot of pressing issues at hand. I didn’t need some woman who appeared from who-knows-where taking up my time.

My wolf had given me hell since our last encounter with her, more active than ever and messing with my head. He pestered me to check on her and look after her, but I ignored him. I hadn’t set my eyes on her for the past few days.

There was a knock on my door, drawing me back from the thoughts of her.

“Hey, what’s up?” Richmond asked as he walked into the office.

I nodded and grunted a greeting in reply.

Then he sat in the chair acro

BLOOM’S POVI couldn’t stop shaking as I realized what I had done. Looking at the broken pieces on the floor, I knew I would get punished. I just knew it. Back at my former Pack, I wouldn’t get away with something like this. It was either reported to my father, and I got whipped, or the witness picked up the broken piece and pierced it into my skin. Most of the time, it was Cecily. My mate was not standing so close to me, but I could feel the heat radiating off his body. I suddenly felt sweaty. The clothes I was wearing didn’t do anything to help matters. I had worn thick clothing because I didn’t want anyone to see the scars on my body. Most of the clothes I found in the wardrobe of the new room didn’t do anything to cover me. They either exposed my arms or weren’t long enough. I barely found some that were long enough.I bowed, knowing the first rule was not to make eye contact. I didn’t even have an explanation for what happened. I came to the kitchen to get food because I was s

GREY’S POVI didn’t like how she made me feel mad, frustrated even, and I hated that I wanted to get to know her, everything about her life, and what she went through. I loathed that I got worried when she hurt herself, despised that my wolf was mad at how I treated her, and that he wanted to be near her. At the same time, I hated myself for treating her badly. All these weren’t part of the plan. I didn’t want a mate, nor did I want a child. I didn’t think I could raise one without turning into my father. After growing up, all I could say about my father was that he was a bastard, but his blood flowed through my veins. I had walked the path of no redemption, so I was already like him, if not worse, but I couldn’t imagine having a child and treating them the way my father abused my brother and me. When I saw her the other day and went near her, the smell that radiated off her body was different. She had smelled more alluring. I knew for a fact that it was because of the baby. And th

BLOOM’S POVHe was confusing me. One minute he made me feel so hot and the next, he was downing me with cold water. He made it clear that he didn’t want me, so why was he mad about me talking to someone other than him?It was all confusing for me. When I noticed him walking towards us, I was so scared that he would get the wrong impression of me talking to the Beta. Ray, I heard Rich say his name. And he had. To hell with the part of me that wouldn’t have lied if Grey asked what I was discussing with Ray. Luckily, he didn’t ask, and Ray didn’t disclose our discussion to him.I was crazy to think this, but Grey’s over-protectiveness was hot and attractive. I blamed the mate bond for this. Eventually, I would be the one on the receiving end of his brutality. He’d hurt me so badly, I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. I knew he was just keeping me around because of the baby I was carrying. He might reject me after the child is born, and I wouldn’t hold it against him. No one wa

GREY’S POVI stared at the documents in front of me, not seeing anything anymore. Everything was beginning to make sense. Parker had come in earlier this morning to report what I asked for. I had been mad at him for bringing it in three days later, but he said it had been hard to get any information on my mate. She had no information about her except that she was a member of the Montrose Pack. Apart from that, she pretty much didn’t exist. That wasn’t even the most shocking part in all of this. That was on page two of the file. Parker said he contacted someone from her Pack who was his close friend and had told him everything about her. It turned out she was the Alpha’s daughter and last child who had been maltreated since she turned five, beaten almost every day by her father and many Pack members. Her father didn’t do anything to stop the abuse because he was the one who instigated it. She had been degraded and abused her whole life. Another part that made my blood boil the most

BLOOM’S POVMy heart was beating erratically as I watched the door that Grey exited from moments ago. I didn’t know what had just happened, but I knew I liked it. He had made me feel all kinds of emotions at once, butterflies in my belly, foreign sensations in between my legs, and hotness all over. When I opened the door to the restroom, I was not expecting to see him sitting on my bed like he owned it. Well, he did own it, but since I moved into this house, he had never looked at me the way he did today. Like he wanted me. I didn’t know what came over me either, I suddenly felt bold. I spoke to him without stuttering and I touched him. Every moment we had been together in close proximity, I loved. The last time we were that close was in the kitchen and then, he had a look of disgust on his face when he left. This time had been different. Or so I thought. I had my hopes up because he had looked at me differently today, and that maybe he didn’t hate me. He looked at my neck and body a

BLOOM’S POVWithin a few minutes, Steph pulled me up to my room to get me ready for the shopping outing. I still couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that Grey wanted to take me shopping. Well, he wasn’t the one taking me, but he sent me to go shopping with his money. Why?I had never had the opportunity to go out for this kind of thing before. The girls I used to work with at my former Pack always talked about the new things they would buy at the end of the month when they got their allowance. I never got one. I was always given the old clothes of people that I didn’t even know. Sometimes during winter, I had to go to the trash bin that held clothes to pick some clothes. I got frostbite often because of the cold.Steph pulled me across the car park that was in the basement. I looked around in awe. There were different types of cars, and they were all flashy.Wow. Grey was really loaded. Steph stopped by the door of a black sports car and opened the front passenger door for me to e

GREY’S POVMy breathing came out in jagged, short breaths. I’d been sparring with Ray for a while now, a little over an hour. At first, it started out as practice, but now, it was getting more aggressive from my side. He wasn’t backing down though. When I had walked into the kitchen earlier and saw all of them at the table eating and laughing, something moved in my chest. I became angry. Angry at the fact that someone else was making my mate laugh. Making her happy.Of course, it wasn’t logical to take my anger out on the poor guy, but I didn’t care. I had remembered the scene from the other day when I saw them together outside, and it made me mad that she was free with other people and not with me. Especially since she was free with Ray and preferred to be with him instead of me. “Not like you ever gave her the chance to be free with you,” my wolf reminded me, but I didn’t care. I realized that we were both on the mat now. I was on top of him, punching him in the face, and a few se

GREY’S POVI groggily opened my eyes, only to immediately squeeze them shut again due to the blinding brightness of the room. What was the time?I looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table and my eyes widened when I saw it was nine in the morning. Trying to get off the bed, I realized that I was wrapped around by warmth. My mate. Her scent was all over my room. I looked at her. Her hair was sprawled all over my chest, and she was breathing gently as she slept. What happened last night? How was she here? Then it all came rushing back. She had come into my room to thank me and things had escalated to the point where we kissed. After that, I convinced her to stay, and she helped me sleep. Looking at her now, a wave of comfort and happiness washed over me. I sighed in relief. I liked how she was so close to me. The warmth of her body clinging to me made me feel good. I reached out with my hand to touch her, to be sure she was actually here and not a figment of my imagination. She

GREYSomeone was crying. Whoever it was, I knew it was because of me, so I tried to open my eyes to see what the matter was, but when I felt a wave of pain go through me, I held my breath and waited for the pain to subside for what seemed like an eternity. Then I tried again. This time, I was successful. Bloom. She sat in a chair beside me, her head in my hands as she sobbed. “Bloom?” My voice didn’t sound like me. It sounded gravely and thin. Her head lifted as she gasped. I saw the moment her expression changed from worry to relief. “Grey? You’re awake?” I gave her a small nod and didn’t say anything. I held her hand, and I knew she understood me. “What about the Pack? And everyone?”“They’re all safe. You defeated our worst enemies,” Bloom said and I nodded just as the memories of the battle flooded back to me. The pain of Orion’s clawing through me came back. I didn’t even realize how Orion’s presence had been weighing heavily on me, but now that he was gone, I was finally able

GREYCapturing the children and women while I was still here? What sort of a sick plan was that? It seemed like I’d been too easy on Orion for him to think he could get away with that. Well, he had another thing coming. “Are the weapons ready?” “Yes, Alpha!” My army of wolves chorused. I got up from where I was and led them toward Orion Pack. They planned to evade ours anyway, why shouldn’t we do the same to them? When we arrived, not only were Orion’s wolves waiting, but also the rogues. “You could have chosen to do this in a better way, you know that Alpha Orion? You just had to get on my nerves.” I looked at the wolves and they didn’t waste any time in lighting the Pack up. We were going to be exactly like the rogues this evening and no-fucking-body was going to stop us. “Do you think I’m going to give in?” Alpha Orion roared from his balcony, his eyes glowing red with rage. “We will fight back!” His wolves were taken aback by his sudden change in attitude, even the Pack members

BLOOMGrey and I followed after Ray to find out what he was talking about, and were met with a shocking scene. He led us into a room, and as he closed the door behind us. Other than a lamp on the table, it was completely dark. But that wasn’t the surprising part. That would be Angie tied to a chair. Turning sideways slightly to look at Grey, I thought, What plan did they have up their sleeves this time?“I just found out the truth,” Ray said. “The child in her womb isn’t yours, Alpha Grey, she has only been trying to get you to marry her.” It was a blatant lie but Ray had no idea we knew the truth. Where was he headed with this? I looked at him briefly before fixing my gaze back on Angie. What did they have up their sleeves now?“She lied about you getting her pregnant so her child can take ownership of your seat before anyone else’s,” Ray added, and while I already knew this, it didn’t stop me feeling angry. Leaning forward, I grabbed her jaw, looking her in the eyes. It was then I

GREY“You know who this letter is from, Grey. I gave you an option of leaving your Pack peacefully, I guess you have turned down my kindness. Now I have no choice but to show you what I can do. Need I remind you that before now I’ve known and watched you for years? It goes without saying that I know your moves, every single one of them. I’ll invade your Pack relentlessly. Take this letter as a warning of what is to come. You’ve been a thorn in my side right from the time I used to be under your command. I made plans I was sure would completely destroy you and your Pack. How you survived remains a miracle… No, I’m certain your pretty little mate helped you with that. I should have stabbed you harder that day in the forest. Anyways, as you might already know, Leo, Stephan, and I plotted your downfall with the help of the Alpha of Orion. He supported us, giving us the power we needed to destroy your Pack. Now, I won’t back down until you’re six feet below the earth, Grey, and this time

BLOOMAs I shared what I heard with Grey, he stared straight at the wall with an expression of fury. Who could blame him for that reaction when he just found out the woman who claimed to be carrying his child, a child he had been fully prepared to accept, was lying to him? And not just that, but the actual father happened to be his Beta, Ray. “I knew there was something off about him.”I sat next to him, placing my hand on top of his. “Please before handling this case, you need to first be calm.”He turned to me with an angry look, but I knew it wasn’t directed at me. “He’s trying to have you by all means. You don’t expect me to sit and watch.”“We have more pressing matters at hand, Grey. They might have plotted against you, but they’re not dumb to believe they don’t need you. Think about it. The issue of the rogues is still on the ground so they can’t act without thinking. They’ll have to wait for the right time,” I explained. “Let’s also be strategic. I understand how you feel. I a

BLOOMUpon getting back to the Pack with Grey, I had reached the top of the stairs when I heard a feminine exclamation and turned around to see Angie clinging to Grey like a damsel in distress. Grey’s face was pulled back as he looked at her with disdain. Physical touches in general made him uncomfortable, so to be touched by someone he didn’t like must feel highly unpleasant.“I’ve not been feeling good these days, and still, you don’t pay me any attention. Do you still not believe the child I’m carrying is yours?”My hands squeezed into fists by my side and I gritted my teeth as I watched Angie caress Grey’s arms while batting her eyelashes. I was about to walk down the stairs and pull her away from him when someone caught my arm. Looking back, I saw Rich shaking his head at me. He seemed to know that if I got close enough to her, I might kill her. I couldn’t stand watching her do that to him. Just as I wanted to pull out of Rich’s hold, a growl echoed in the air and everything wen

BLOOMThe next morning, Grey and I set out for Montrose Pack after receiving news of a rogue attack. Upon our arrival, I was shocked at the sight we met. The rogues' attack had completely brought down the place. They left nothing standing. They had left so many survivors. Tears filled my eyes as I looked around. While this place had never been a home to me, it was still where I grew up and spent most of my life in, so it left me feeling broken. As I got to the place where the Alpha’s mansion once stood, my vision became blurry with tears. Most of the building had been reduced to debris. Remembering that my father used to keep a diary, I shifted into my wolf and sniffed the ground, searching for the book in the ruins. I moved through the rubble in my wolf form, my heightened senses picking up on scents, most of them being my father’s. As my paws trod upon the scorched ground, I spotted a fragment of charred wood that was etched with familiar markings and knew it was a scorched corner

BLOOMMy mind was on Angie. There was no telling what she was up to, and as much as I wanted to keep an eye on her every moment, I didn’t have any time for that. My gaze returned back to my sleeping child. My precious daughter, my Angel who I wanted to protect. I reached out to touch her toes when the door opened and Grey walked in. The weariness on his face and his tousled hair all pointed to the fact that he’d been up all night, but somehow even with all that, he still managed to look so attractive. After kissing me on the lips, he put out a finger to touch our daughter’s face, before sitting next to me on the bed and resting his head on my lap. “Did you find anything out last night?” I asked as I ran my fingers slowly through his hair. “Hmm.” Grey nodded. “Ray got more information about the rogue camp, and it was just as I thought. It’s clear now that Lewis is the leader of the rogues. We can’t just sit back and watch without doing anything. We need to strategize a way to capture

Bloom's PovGrey looked like he was a second away from ripping her head off. I was very sure that was the exact look I had on my face as well. I had people behind me anyways, that stopped me from making any further movements towards her. Like what the fuck?! I glared at her and could just imagine throwing her to the wall without caring whether or not she had a child. But I had to control my urges before I did something I'd regret. My wolf growled in my head. I pushed her back so she wouldn't take control of my body. This fool was trying to get my man to look at her. And here I was doing nothing about it. I growled while the guards were ready to hold me when the need be. They knew I'd kill her without effort. She stayed there staring innocently like a damsel in distress. What the fuck was she even thinking. That she can take my place? As what exactly? The Luna?"Get the fuck out of this place Angie," Grey growled. Even his wolf threatened to show up if Grey did nothing about this. But
