Lilliana’s POV

I was taken aback, I never thought that I would ever see Nikolai break down in front of me. Tears welled up in my eyes but I was too determined to hold them back.

My body shook and my knees went weak as I sat slowly on the bed with Nikolai still kneeling in front of me.

“I know, I don’t deserve any more chances, I’ve messed up too much but please, Lilliana.” He begged, reaching out to hold my hand but I pulled it away.

I was scared, scared that I’d be forced to forgive and give him the last chance he’s asking for if I let him touch me.

I’ve never really been able to control myself whenever Nikolai was involved and seeing him like this was doing things to me.

It was as though I was in a haze, like he was a mirage and none of this was real. It was as though Nikolai wasn’t here and I was making things up in my head.

I knew I wasn’t making anything up when I felt his hand and something wet on my feet. Gasping, I looked down to see Nikolai holding onto my feet really tightly
