VIVIANA
The air surrounding us was thick. It smelled of heaviness and weird emotions. Baspo guarded me against all the odds. This place was such a foreign one.
“Luna, we came here on your command. But why are we here?” Baspo asked. We were moving at a steady pace. Our feet didn’t make any sounds. We were watchful. I looked at him.
“We are here for some answers. I want to know more about my pack and someone else.” I said and my thoughts drifted back to the night I had that dream. The woman’s blurred face was still there in the back of my mind. As if she got imprinted on the white cloth of my mind.
Baspo sensed uneasiness in my words. He diverted the topic.
“That means we are here to meet a witch if I am right?” He asked with a low chuckle. I nodded. His eyes widened at the realization. I didn’t joke. It was the truth. Baspo stopped. So did I.

VIVIANAWe made it to the other side of that Red Forest. It was a horrible experience. I was about to get mad. I declared to see Zelda, but I was mad at Miracle. She didn’t heed.“I told you to stay put. Why the hell you were adamant about shifting, Miracle?” I yelled at my wolf in my mind. To Baspo, I was having a rest. He was searching for a place to sit in the meantime.“I was forced. The voices said they will kill mate.” Miracle shouted back with the same intensity.Ah! Why was it so hard? My patience almost ran out. What if Miracle had shifted back to the forest? I would have been another cloned red tree in that stupid Red forest. I sighed.“Miracle, no matter what… just don’t lose control. We don’t know about Zelda. She may have tricks under her sleeves too. We have to be careful. Alaric is searching for us. We have to get back to The Samara
VIVIANA “This is Blood Residence?” I was surprised at the view ahead. The settlement was like a heavily guarded castle. A beautiful, but a deadly place. Baspo’s eyes kept wandering here and there. He was searching for an entrance.“Are we going to sneak in?” I asked. Baspo’s movements made me suspicious. He better let me know it beforehand.“No. Even if we wish to, we can’t. The Blood Residence is like an impervious castle. No supernatural can sneak in and stay hidden from the witches.” Baspo responded pointing towards the settlement.“Then?” What should we do? Do we stay here all along? I was about to ask that too, but one word was enough. Baspo understood it. He had been good at deciphering the hidden meanings.“Then we go to the Residence. Seek permission and do what we should.” He responded leisurely. I glared at him.“Are you s
ALARICIt’s been a day. The deadline to find Viviana passed an hour ago. I was on the hunt. The hunt for my dear mate. She didn’t bother to talk before leaving, but I was never going to leave her alone. No matter what it takes. I would always safeguard her.All the search parties came back empty-handed. No news of Viviana, or Baspo. It was like they vanished in the air. James and Noah kept me occupied with something till the evening. But my patience gave away.I kicked the nearby chair. I yelled. I shouted. I was mad. Mad at myself. Mad at Viviana. Mad at my wolf, and her wolf. Mad at everything. Every fucking thing. Only one thought crossed my mind. Where was Viviana?Gianna was stunned when she heard about Viviana. She couldn’t believe it. She kept on pleading for me to bring her sisi back. Ashton wanted to be with me, but I denied it. This was not the time. He had to be home. I couldn’t leave my family alone.Fathe
VIVIANAZelda, the Witch was overconfident. She came off undisturbed with my presence. Or, she just waited for me! I was hungry. The walk drained my energy.“Here, have it. It’s my favorite. And, it’s from the Human World.” Zelda offered me some blueberries and green apples. Oh! It’s been a long time since I ate anything from the Human World. Emma’s smiling face popped up in front of my eyes and my lips stretched into a small smile.I had the fruits. The taste was the same. Juicy and rich in flavor, as it was always. I remembered how Emma used to hide the apples in her dressing drawers. Trouble-maker!“You miss her, I can see that. Why don’t you go back to the city?” Zelda asked. People said she was tricky. She didn’t appear to me. She was perfectly normal. She was talking with me. She offered me fruits. Why was it not strange! I stared at her face; her purple eyes shined under the dim-lit surrou
VIVIANA“Luna, wait! Did you just say that Alpha is waiting for us?” Baspo stopped me in my track. I had exited the Witch’s house and was on the road now. I didn’t bother to answer and just nodded. But Baspo looked horrified.“He is here?” Baspo’s tone revealed his fears. I hummed again, not letting him guess my mind. It was enjoyable. The great muscular Baspo was being a scared pup. Why?“Alpha will not spare me, Luna,” Baspo murmured. I couldn’t resist and let out laughter. My laugh must have echoed in the surroundings, but I didn’t care. I patted Baspo’s back.“You are in my service now. Don’t be scared. I will handle him. First, let’s leave here.” I suggested and Baspo followed. His eyes kept scanning the surroundings for any dangers. Unlike the thought process, it was a very smooth journey. No killing, no fights, no cursing witches, not much happene
ALARICViviana had me worried. Even though it was just one day, so much had happened. I realized how much Viviana mattered to me. In just one day, my breath almost left my body. She was like oxygen.I was way too angry; about what she did. But the moment Viviana appeared, I lost my sanity. I could only wrap her tightly to never let her go. She was hurting. But I wasn’t any better either. Her eyes had guilt. I saw it. She had something to say. Something that would be huge. Something, that would shock me. Viviana’s eyes had always been loud about her emotions and the way she felt. Even though Viviana never said it out, her eyes were the window of her soul. Her beautiful, loving soul.We made it to the camp. Everything was calm. I didn’t want to stay here any longer; now that my mate was beside me. But Viviana was tired. Her face was pale. She was exhausted and hungry. I fed her some food.“We must leave, now.” I urged. I
VIVIANANo matter the way Alaric kept me warm the whole night, stayed by my side, pacified me, and kissed me again and again; nothing could change the fear he experienced when I suddenly left him. I could see it in his eyes. The spark was replaced by anger. He didn’t vent it out. He reserved it.The morning was on the horizon. We lay in each other’s arms. The night went by staring at the sky. It was dark, starred, and red. The red never faded. It was there. Always.I woke up from my nap with Noah clearing his throat. I was snuggled in Alaric's arms with the same cloth wrapped over our bodies. It barely covered us both. I looked at Noah with sleepy eyes. He bowed.“Luna,” he said with a blushing face. Alaric was sound asleep with his arm resting over my belly and our legs intertwined. I poked him softly. He groaned and hugged me tighter.“I will give you a minute,” Noah left us. I poked Alaric again and he rubbed
VIVIANA“Oh! Sisi! Where have you been? I was so worried about you. Brother was so furious. I had never seen him that disturbed. Are you alright?” Gianna threw herself over me from the door. She was still in the school uniform. Her grip was tight. Her tone was polite and scolding. But her eyes held concern.Oh, my cute little pup.I hugged her back and stroked her hair.“I am alright. I was nearby, but then I lost my way.” I lied. I thought it was for the good. Gianna let go and narrowed her brown eyes at me. Her face screamed that she was received.“You want to keep lying, sisi?” Gianna asked angrily. Oh! She knew something. I was trapped. I looked at dad for assistance, but he shrugged it off. How could he leave me be?“Fine! I left. But just for a while, Gianna. I had to go. It was such an important business. It couldn’t wait. Also, I didn’t get the time to inform your brother. But, I
