Alex’s POV

(…a crave for freedom)

Alex was the first to arrive at the door post. He met two maidservants pulling a food trolley—Aurora’s supposed breakfast. Alex knocked at first. He pressed his ears onto the door to get the faintest of sounds but, there was none. He had tried using his mind link but, to no avail. He looked around on the frightened faces as he concealed his fear with a stern look, gesturing for Lucia to step away. He kicked down the door, which gave entrance on the second attempt.

Alex rushed to wear his mother laid. She wore a stiff smile and her eyes were open. “Mother?”, Alex called out, frightened and clueless of why she had the look. He paid close attention to her breathing pattern, but there was no movement.

“Call the doctor”, Alex said flatly as he remained still without going any closer—his mother’s expression creeped him out. His close look on her made him realize how lean she’d grown to become. “Mother, are you awake?”, he asked the smiling figure that wou

Lucia’s POV(…unknown caller)She dropped the receiver with a long expression. For a split second, she had forgotten about Alex’s presence and how much she wanted to abscond from the responsibilities laid on her—only the mate bond had held her a captive of love. “Who was it?”, Alex asked, distracting her thoughts.“One of my father’s warriors. He says he needs to see me urgently and father is ill”, she replied, concealing the fact that she doubts the authenticity of the message. “He should have sent a message to me first. Don’t tell me you’re thinking of flying to Madrid this night?”, Alex asked as Lucia began folding a few clothes into a small suitcase. “I have to. What if he’s at the point of death? Delay can be dangerous”, she said ignoring the insistence in his tone. “What happens to Williams and Diane?”Lucia cocked her head, sighed and walked towards him, “Please, get a qualified nanny that will fill in till I come back. It might be the last time I get to see him”, she held

Mike's POV(…a comeback)The station was well-lit, as the time of day had little effect on their vision. As the men approached them gently, Mike raised his arms to conceal Lucia behind him. He had expected a fight, but not this soon."Hand over the lady and get out of our way," one of them, who appeared to be the gang's leader, ordered. Four people stood behind him. “How bad can your manners be?.“, Mike interjected jokingly, raising his other arm to check the time, “It's 2 in the morning. A simple greeting wouldn't make you more ugly, rather than berge on innocent citizens”, he laughed nervously as he took an extra step back. He had learnt the trick of sounding stupid in the face of danger to distract his opposition. He hoped his plan doesn't turn against him.“Are you out of your mind?“, Lucia whispered into his ears, “These men are armed and the best you can do is make silly jokes that'll get us into more trouble”They all cocked their guns and aimed at them, “We're not here for chi

Alex's POV(… an untold vision) It's been a year since Lucia died. The kids have gotten used to their nanny, Bernie—a young lady in her early thirties and the daughter of one of the Deltas. The region's economy had been traveling on a downward spiral since Alex ordered a total close of the borders. All his days, aside for when he hosted important meetings with the region's executive members, have been within the four walls of his study room.“It's impossible to mistake your location at every given time”, Mike remarked as he walked in, one cool evening.“I don't assume that to be a compliment, Mike”, Alex replied coldly. “What bad news do you have this time?“, he asked, without taking his eyes off the laptop's screen—Mike never visited the palace unless a serious event was predicted.“Sorry, Alpha. In that case I'll begin with the good. Toria had a baby boy yesterday. We both agreed to name him Larry. Larry Blake”, Mike gave a broad smile.“Toria? Isn't that the girl from the bar, tha

Diane's POV(…Fourteen years later)“That'll be all for today. We will proceed to the practical section of self-defense by tomorrow. Make sure you all come along with your training suits”, the scrawny teacher with an oblong face covered in grey hair concluded, as he exited the lecture hall. Diane had been busy scribbling on her hardcover note the whole of the period. Her father—the Alpha, had forced her into studying martial arts, like him, against her will. She had failed the entrance exams into DeRoyal University—the only university with the highest level of competition in the region and a place for exceptional students. She had been granted provisional admission as the Alpha's daughter. Williams, her blind twin brother, was allowed to continue his choice of career in the medical fields when the Alpha suspected his special healing abilities. He trained in the medical institute of the same school.“That's one beautiful piece of art”, a thick masculine voice complimented from behind.

Diane's POV(…the chosen one)“Keep practising, Diane”, the Alpha commanded as he left the lawn with Mike. “we need to do something about your negative reports”, the Alpha spoke to his beta as their voices faded out.Immediately the Alpha was out of sight, Diane fell to the floor in exhaustion and wiped the drying tears off her cheeks. The Alpha had placed her on high expectations, when all she really wanted was to lead a simple life. But, here she was, preparing for a position that would demand so much from her. She got up to her feet after catching enough breath and strolled in. There was no point following the Alpha's order—she usually forgot all she's been taught in the training, as she ends up relearning old lessons over and over again. She had wondered why the Alpha hasn't given up on her. One of the maidservants passed by her, “How long will it take you to clear up my dirty clothes?“, Diane asked angrily. The maid bowed and replied, as she turned around, “I checked in this mor

Diane's POV(…a prophecy)“You've to be cautious of your every step, especially outside the palace”, the Alpha spoke in his usual cold voice. She finally met his gaze, after suspecting the purpose of the summon wasn't in anyway related to her previous action. She found the courage to speak, ”what do you mean, father?““I don't wish to bug you with so much details yet but I believe it's never too early to learn of your enemy. Maybe it would be a driving force to make you better as soon as possible.”, her father replied. “Is it the same enemy that had mum killed?“, she asked soberly. She had imagined her mother's complete look from the portrait of her, hung in the Alpha's room. Once, she gave the face a body and imagined what she would sound like—the Alpha seldomly spoke about her to them.“The very one. But, we might be mistaken. It's possible someone's threatening us and disguising under his name. Whatever the case, stay out of trouble. You might want to cut down on your nightly flig

Diane’s POV(…a new friend)It was her second day at school. Larry and Williams had diverted towards their institute as Diane was left strolling reluctantly to her first class for the day—she was few minutes late. She hoped she wouldn’t come across Collins as all her imaginations on how their second meeting could be, were extreme. She heard the lecturer's voice as she approached the lecture hall. She met a few students lurking at the entrance. The class was half full as she maneuvered her way towards the back, with few heads turning as she finally settled on a seat. “I don’t tolerate late coming to my class.”, the lecturer instructed—a short bald man with abnormally large lens. “Didn’t you meet some of your colleagues outside?”, he questionedDiane, who was busy taking out a notebook, looked up at him in surprise, “How am I supposed to know I’m to join them? Next time put a notice at the door”, she replied carelessly without noticing the gasps from the students. The lecturer walked up

Diane's POV(…a new antagonist)“You better watch it, young lady”, Diane replied in anger. She didn’t understand why she felt heartbroken. The lady stared at her from head to toe, “I think I know you. You’re the new girl with the arrogance. I guess you haven’t heard about me yet. Stay out of my way for you own good…”“That’s enough, Kate”, Collins yelled at her, and pulled her hands away from him. It was the first time Diane ever saw him angry. “I’m sorry, Diane. I’ll catch you up later.”, he apologized as she watched him drag her along.“What’s your problem?”, Williams whispered to the girl.“she was staying too close to you”Diane watched speechlessly as their conversation faded down the distance. She had hoped something good could come out of their rather early friendship. But now, she had a reason to wade off the thoughts and wait patiently for her next birthday, when she turns sixteen and find her fated mate. She went to the school’s cafeteria few blocks away, after long hours o

A peaceful reign, a peaceful pack with the strongest of its kind. Meagan's father, Williams passed on happily after witnessing his daughter's ceremony. Congratulatory letters flew in daily from all parts of the region. The Alpha had gotten tired of reading through as she stumbled on a random note. “Congratulations Alpha. I'm glad you picked him over me but, I hope you don't regret your decisions soon. Cheers. Ray.”She smiled at the paper and squeezed it happily into the thrash. She had never regretted her decision. Her mate loved her even more than herself. “It still surprises me how you walked straight to me and said those words. I must have had a great resemblance with a simp. I couldn't hold back my tears,” Jason remarked as they held hands towards the pool. “I couldn't get over your mysterious eyes,”she replied with a chuckle. “What would have happened if I had rejected you instead?““I would be happy for you either ways. Meagan's POV(…the final battle)Larry continued to laugh hysterically until he emptied the keg. He climbed up the ladder as Meagan continued to hit her body against the glass until she transformed into her wolf form. “Rot in hades!“ Larry yelled from above the ladder as an lgnited lighter hit the ground. The fire traced the diesel so fast that the room was soon covered in a burning smoke. Meagan had mindlinked the pack and the warriors about Larry as she ordered for a rescue team. She kept on the attempt on the glass that was covered in flames as her body began to feel the intense heat. Her newly found father was lying helpless, holding on to his chest as he coughed vigorously. “The fire is alot. We can't get in, Alpha,” the leader of the rescue team mindlinked her as she hoped for the glass to give way to her hit. Finally, the glass began to crack as she increased her force. A massive fire extinguisher filled the room. The wolf that had come to their rescue joined in breaking down t

Meagan's POV(the first female Alpha)It was one night away from her enthronement. She had been receiving dignitaries from neighbouring packs as she helped in restoring their peace. Her life was more than perfect, or at least, better than what it used to be. She got an apartment for Ray pending the day of her enthronement as she thought to mark her mate the same night she became the Alpha.“We need to prepare the pyramid grounds and wash it clean. I will be away for a while, Alpha,” Larry announced to her one evening and left. She entered her room and prepared for a good rest. The thoughts of her enthronement has consumed her mind. What if she failed her mission? What If the moon goddess doesn't grant her the title? There was one person she could ring to feel better. She reached out for her phone and dialed Ray's number. They spoke for hours long until it encroached into her sleeping time. There was never a dull moment with Ray. A sharp movement from the outside of her windows distrac

If you have nothing to say then, I'll pass my judgement” she announced again, in a bid to trigger a reaction but he kept on smiling at her as one who was at the verge of suffering a terrible mental relapse. “Don't kill him. Send him to the dungeon instead,” Arya remarked as she contemplated what verdict she was to pass. Trix had been away for a while, so Arya had been in control of her all along. She made up her mind and commanded, “Chain in down in the dungeons until he dies a natural death.“ The guards, whom she was yet to familiarize with, bowed before her and took out Xavier. She didn't know what to do with Jason yet, so she instructed him to be locked up with his father, until she had decided on what to do. “Congratulations, Meagan. Your mother must be beaming with pride from above,” Arya encouraged as she stared mistly at the

Jason's POV(…the last heir)“What do you think you're doing, son?“ the Alpha mindlinked him as they ceased normal communication. “Do you know how hard I've worked to get the throne? Do you know how powerful I've become amidst other neighboring packs? You must be out of your mind.““I'm out of my mind. I love her, father and I love you too. I can't leave anyone of you. It's the only way to avoid a heated war.““There would be no war if we kill her before her abilities return back and we both know it would be twice her previous power. It's a stupid idea to keep such a threat.““You asked for a mate—”The alpha interrupted, “Yes. I wanted a mate for you, not an Omega. This would never happen. I would rather die of my illness that watch her become the Alpha of the pack.““But, If she becomes my mate, we can both lead the pack. She would be a strong woman. Please, father. She has agreed. This is my one chance to lead a peaceful life like you always wanted. I'll never find a mate in anothe

Meagan's POV(…unexpected accomplice)“Who are you?“ Meagan asked, regretting why she was too weak to find out herself as the now human stranger refused to cease from patting her hair. “I wouldn't reveal my identity until you grant my request. You would want nothing from me if you ever find out but, my wish is that you don't see me as you used to.“Meagan was sure it wasn't Ray but it had a close resemblance to Larry's voice, only with a touch youthfulness and pain. “I'll tell a short story and therafter you can do whatever you want with me, and the baby. Shall I proceed?“Meagan, who knew her choices were limited, agreed, “Yes.““A girl child was raised by a single mother and grew up to hate males, after assuming all men were alike. She treated every man she knew with contempt until she met a man whom she loved so dearly. But, the man she loved was an enemy to her mother. But soon, she realized her mother was the enemy. Not to forget that this man was severely tortured by her mother

Meagan's POV(…under the full moon)“I've just two questions for you. Firstly, how did you find out about my weakness to human blood? Secondly, how did you find your way into my room that night? You've two minutes to respond,” Jason raged as red spark flew across his watery eyes Meagan was confused. She had no idea of what he accused her of. “Don't give me that innocent look. It's the same crime you're been punished for. I want to know the others involved. You couldn't have done it alone and I'll make sure everyone involved is brought to book. So, start talking.““I was never in your room and I know nothing of your weakness.”“The CCTV coverage found you on the corridor that night. It's pointless to lie to cover up for anyone or do you want to suffer alone? Speak!“Meagan realized she was framed for a different offense she never committed. “I didn't enter your room that night. It was the kitchen. I don't know anything about it.“Jason gave her a long stare as though realizing a conn

Life has never been fair to my family,” she concluded as she gulped down the few drops of water she had for the day. “Meagan?“ the man called out as he wore a confused look approaching her slowly. They both held their gaze on eachother as they realized the truth. “Is this really you?“ He squatted in front of her as they both gaped at each other. “How did you get here? How long have you worked with the Alpha?“ She asked as they collapsed into a hug. “Goodness! Meagan. It's hard to believe. Meagan's POV(…Trix reacts)She instinctively looked around her. Jason was truly nowhere to be found. How did the Alpha find out? she asked herself as she made sure there were no traces on the night of her escapade. At first, Meagan tried to comfort herself as she knew it had been impossible for the Alpha to terminate her life because of her powers which Larry attested to. “I kept you alive to breed my pack but you don't deserve to live. You're just like your kind. I should have known better then to keep you alive.“ “Are you just going to sit there without taking actions? If Jason is Ill then the potion Larry talked about is working,” Trix remarked violently as Meagan bowed still, dreading the Alpha's next move. “He can't hurt you, remember? This might be your only chance to get him out of the way and allow the kingdom bow to a new alpha. Do it, Meagan,” Trix ordered as she began to stir her up while the Alpha continued a show of emotional outburst. “Remember Larry said the action de
