Chapter 51

Jason heard the doorbell at two in the morning and got out of bed to find out who it was, even though it was pouring heavily outside.

Jason groggily got out of bed and made his way to the front door, rubbing his eyes to try and shake off the sleep. He peered through the peephole and saw a figure standing on his porch, hood up and head down.

"Who is it?" Jason called out, trying to keep his voice above the sound of the rain.

The figure slowly looked up, and Jason saw that it was Bella, her eyes red and puffy from crying.

"Bella, what are you doing here?" Jason asked, concern etched on his face.

"I need a place to stay," Bella said, her voice shaking.

Jason's expression softened, and he opened the door wider. "Come in, Bella."

As Bella entered, Jason couldn't help but notice the look of devastation on her face. He knew that something was seriously wrong.

"Bella, what happened?" Jason asked, leading her to the living room.
