The days after our victory against Richard and his grandma were filled with activity.Our pack had sustained enormous losses, both in terms of personnel and infrastructure.

The once-pristine fields of our realm had been ravaged by conflict, and the air was heavy with the scent of grief and uncertainty. I found myself laboring tirelessly, traveling from one injured pack member to the next, using my healing talents to repair broken bones, close gaping wounds, and calm traumatized minds.

The thankfulness in their eyes thrilled my heart while also weighing hard on my conscience. If only I had discovered this unexpected strength sooner, we may have spared so much blood.

As I finished mending a young warrior's damaged arm, I sensed a familiar presence behind me. Kloss's muscular arms wrapped my waist, and I leaned back into his embrace, feeling strengthened by his constant support.

"You need to rest, Sheila," he said softly, his breath warm against my ear. "You've been at this for days."
